Kinda like the story of Piltdown Man?
Sure is an intriguing concept.
The story of Piltdown, i don’t think, would have come to light without a component of ego. From both sides. And would be very very difficult to come to light today, if it hadn’t been contested in its time.
The fraud was seeking attention and easily lapped up by laymen, while the opposition was thin, few and far between… and against great odds to expose the fraud.
ComeOn Man on display in the museum… but the viewing public has never been more skeptical, and rightly so.

Not that it matters a whole lot at this point, but the voiceover sounds very similar to the Zeitgeist guy right on the heels of the main 911’truth’ push (which has mostly faded, mostly). His first vid was pretty good, but then he went way far afield with his second and ‘lost’ support.
