Texas Congressman: Border Town “Completely Overrun…Virtually No Border in Del Rio, Migrants Are Crossing Back and Forth from Mexico with Ease”

Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) is sounding the alarm over a sudden flood of thousands of migrants who he says are overrunning the border town of Del Rio and warning there is “virtually no border” as migrants cross the border at will.

On Wednesday Gonzales reported there were over 3,000 migrants being held in an open air detention camp under the U.S. side of the border bridge (that number swelled to over 8,000 overnight), “These photos were sent to my office by local officials in Del Rio. There are currently over 3,000 migrants encamped under the International Bridge in Del Rio. Agents on the ground say this could take weeks to process, and that they’ve received intel of more people on their way…The city is now completely overrun and our border patrol is overwhelmed. President Biden and Sec. Mayorkas need to act NOW.”

On Thursday Gonzales toured the border detention camp, “A video from my visit this morning to the International Bridge in Del Rio. Currently at 8300 migrants waiting to be processed with thousands more on the way. Our border patrol is doing everything they possibly can but they are at a breaking point.”

This video posted by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) proves Gonzales’ point. Migrants can seen freely crossing the Rio Grande in both directions between the United States and Mexico, “Illegal aliens continue to flood across the border. Over 8,000 were under the Del Rio International Bridge as of this morning! My team was sent this video by a law enforcement official on the ground in Del Rio. This disaster was caused by Joe Biden.”

Update: Over 9,000 migrants now under the bridge, per Fox News reporter Bill Melugin, ” Source on the ground at the international bridge in Del Rio just sent me this video showing the deteriorating situation. Federal source says the number has now increased to 9,300.

Texas Governor Orders 6 Points Of Entry Along Border Shut Down

Texas Governor Greg Abbott today issued a statement after the Biden Administration reversed their decision to close ports of entry after a massive influx of migrants arrived at the Texas border:

“Six hours after U.S. Customs and Border Protection requested help from Texas to close ports of entry and secure the border, the Biden Administration has now flip-flopped to a different strategy that abandons border security and instead makes it easier for people to cross illegally and for cartels to exploit the border. The Biden Administration is in complete disarray and is handling the border crisis as badly as the evacuation from Afghanistan.”

“I have directed the Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard to surge personnel and vehicles to shut down six points of entry along the southern border to stop these caravans from overrunning our state.”

GOP Senators Push To Designate Taliban A Terrorist Organization As White House Mulls Sending Aid

Republican Senators have launched an initiative to get the Taliban officially designated by the US government as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, weeks after the botched Biden-ordered evacuation of Kabul airport which resulted in 13 American troop deaths and many more Afghan civilians.

A Wednesday letter authored by four Republican senators, including Rick Scott, Dan Sullivan, Tommy Tuberville and Joni Ernst, was sent to Secretary of State Antony Blinken urging an immediate designation, citing that the Taliban presents "a significant threat to the United States."

In the letter the senators take issue with the recent emerging consensus among Biden administration officials that somehow the Taliban has "moderated" since being overthrown in the 2001 US invasion of Afghanistan.

"Since re-establishing control of Afghanistan [in August], the Taliban resumed the same murderous and oppressive habits that characterized their leadership tenure prior to the arrival of US forces in 2001," they wrote.

"Most concerning to us is that among those beaten and chased by Taliban forces were American citizens and their families still living in Afghanistan," it adds. The Biden administration has this week admitted there are American citizens still trapped in Afghanistan. GOP leaders have since the last US military plane left Kabul airport on Aug.30 charged Biden with essentially abandoning Americans and leaving them behind.

The White House has since left open the question of whether the Taliban could receive US humanitarian and foreign aid, saying it depends on the Taliban's behavior. The Republican move to get the group listed as an official terrorist organization would preclude this possibility altogether.

In contrast to claims of a more "moderate" Taliban leadership now governing, the senators' letter cites beatings and oppression of women, public attacks on opposition protestors, and persecution of those who formerly helped Western allied forces.

The letter also highlights Sirajuddin Haqqani's role in the new government as Interior Minister. Haqqani has long been known to have plotted and carried out attacks against Americans (and allies), and is still on the FBI's "most wanted" list.

"The Taliban display the will and the means to attack Americans and American interests," the letter concludes while asserting the group means the convention criteria for Washington to designate it.

While noting the division and disagreements that plague the United States in the 21st century in a recent episode of her podcast, liberal comedian Sarah Silverman suggested the country “break up” into “two or three countries” as a result of irreconcilable differences regarding politics and vaccines in a statement some say reflects those made by Pat Buchanan in his 2011 book, “Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?”

In an excerpt of the podcast posted to Twitter, Silverman said, “I mean, this may be a negative thought, or a positive one I don’t know, but if people aren’t getting along, like in a relationship, they break up. You know? So why don’t we just, finally just realize that this, these states aren’t working, and like divide up into like two or three countries?”

She added, “Like USA 1 and USA 2? And they can be USA 1, like the conservatives can be USA 1 because they love being number one and it means something to them, and I’d love to have that be theirs, they can be USA 1, we’ll be USA 2, and we’ll be allies.”

Noting that vaccine requirements would likely be a defining issue between the two countries, with hypothetical USA 2 requiring a seemingly endless series of COVID-19 booster shots, she then added, “And you’ll come over here, and we’ll go over there, and you know when you come to certain, many times when you to a different country you have to get a vaccine. That’s that.”

Author Ryan Girdusky noted, “Pat Buchanan was fired for writing ‘Will America Survive Till 2025’ just a few years ago… now breaking up the US is being openly floated and will probably become an increasingly common opinion in the future.”

Girdusky refers to paleoconservative icon and former presidential candidate Pat Buchanan’s 2011 book, “Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?” The book, released in 2011, apparently led to Buchanan being fired as a paid commentator for MSNBC, before the cable network veered extremely far to the left, as Brian Stelter, now a show host for CNN but then a writer for the New York Times noted in 2012 with an article titled “With Book, Buchanan Set His Fate”.

Lawyer charged in probe of Trump-Russia investigation

WASHINGTON (AP) — The prosecutor tasked with examining the U.S. government’s investigation into Russian election interference charged a prominent cybersecurity lawyer on Thursday with making a false statement to the FBI.

The case against the attorney, Michael Sussmann of the Perkins Coie law firm, is just the second prosecution brought by special counsel John Durham in two-and-a-half years of work. Yet neither case brought by Durham undoes the core finding of an earlier investigation by Robert Mueller that Russia had interfered in sweeping fashion on behalf of Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and that the Trump campaign welcomed that aid.

It lays bare the wide-ranging and evolving nature of Durham’s investigation. In addition to having scrutinized the activities of FBI and CIA officials during the early days of the Russia probe, it has also looked at the behavior of private individuals like Sussman who provided the U.S. government with information as it scrambled to determine whether Trump associates were coordinating with Russia to tip the election’s outcome.

The indictment accuses Sussmann of lying to the FBI when he was questioned about a September 2016 conversation he had with the FBI’s general counsel when he relayed concerns from cybersecurity researchers about potentially suspicious contacts between Russia-based Alfa Bank and a Trump organization server. The FBI looked into the matter but found no connections. Sussmann is a former federal prosecutor who specializes in cybersecurity.

Sussmann’s lawyers, Sean Berkowitz and Michael Bosworth, said their client is a highly-respected national security lawyer who had previously worked in the Justice Department under both Republican and Democratic administrations and said they were confident he would prevail at trial and “vindicate his good name.”

“Mr. Sussmann has committed no crime,” they said in a statement. “Any prosecution here would be baseless, unprecedented, and an unwarranted deviation from the apolitical and principled way in which the Department of Justice is supposed to do its work.”

The Alfa Bank matter was not a pivotal element of the Russia probe and was not even mentioned in Mueller’s 448-page report in 2019. Still, the indictment may give fodder to Russia investigation critics who regard it as politically tainted and engineered by Democrats.

Sussmann’s firm, Perkins Coie, has deep Democratic connections. A then-partner at the firm, Marc Elias, brokered a deal with the Fusion GPS research firm to study Trump’s business ties to Russia. That work, by former British spy Christopher Steele, produced a dossier of research that helped form the basis of flawed surveillance applications targeting a former Trump campaign official, Carter Page.

Interesting Maneuver, Members of Congress Advocate For Formalization of Fourth Branch of Government

Knowing what YOU know about the intelligence apparatus now operating a superseding branch of government (to control all subservient branches), there is an interesting appeal from current and former congressional representatives asking four leadership members of the Gang of Eight, to formalize a new governing body in the U.S.

Politico outlines the request letter [read here] around the concern that continuity of government might be compromised. Almost all the signatories are democrats, though there are more than just a few DeceptiCons in the mix. Here’s how The Hill frames the request:

WASHINGTON DC – A letter signed by nearly 50 former members of Congress is calling for the formation of a new government body to address preparations for modern threats against the U.S. government.

The letter, first obtained by Politico, said that the Continuity of Government Commission conducted an extensive review of all three branches of government.

France Reportedly Cancels Washington Gala After 'Betrayal' Submarine Deal

France earlier voiced its discontent with the newly announced defense pact between the US, UK and Australia as it saw its own arrangement with Canberra trashed in favor of the trilateral deal.

A gala intended to be held at the French embassy in Washington, DC, has been cancelled in the wake of the US' new defense initiative with the UK and Australia, it was revealed on Thursday.

The event, which was intended to commemorate the 240th anniversary of the Battle of Capes, was expected to be held at the French embassy on Friday. A portion of the event was also meant to be held in the Maryland port city of Baltimore, aboard a French Frigate.

An unidentified official who spoke with the New York Times for a Thursday story confirmed that the gala would not be held, and that France's top naval officer would be returning to Paris. As the event was meant to highlight the strength of the US-French alliance, the official stressed that it would have been "ridiculous" to host the event in light of the new security partnership.

That same official also relayed to the outlet that the US' actions, specifically of not detailing the new arrangement to France, underscore that the Land of the Free is no longer the dependable ally it once was to the European nation.

As the Times reports, French officials had repeatedly attempted to broach the subject with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and national security adviser Jake Sullivan, but had ultimately been "rebuffed" on several occasions.

An unidentified US official had noted to the publication that Biden insiders had kept mum of the initiative because they knew that France would protest the move, adding that the Biden White House came to the conclusion that it was up to Australia to inform France since the folks Down Under had their own defense pact with the French.

In fact, in the wake of the new defense pact between the three countries, France's Naval Group blasted the move and voiced "deep disappointment" as the new arrangement meant that its own $90 billion submarine contract with Australia was effectively trashed.

The French Foreign Ministry added onto the defense contractor's remarks, emphasizing that the behavior exhibited by Australia, the US and UK were deplorable, and not at all in line with the cooperation held between the parties. French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian told Franceinfo Radio that the new deal was a "unilateral, brutal, unpredictable decision" largely similar to those made by former US President Donald Trump.

"A knife in the back," Le Drian said of Australia's decision to sidestep the contract with the Naval Group.

The new so-called AUKUS mission will see the three countries work collectively to strengthen one another's ability to back security and defense interests while also arming Australia with a nuclear-powered submarine fleet and tomahawk missiles.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison earlier told reporters that the nation could see the new submarine fleet "in the water" sometime within the next ten years.

However, it's worth noting that the alliance is also largely seen as an attempt by the trio to counter China's influence in the region. In fact, China is one of many critics of the new arrangement.
