Aussie Leaders Are Criminals - If Australia’s brutal response to lockdown protests was happening elsewhere, hypocritical Canberra would be demanding sanctions — RT Op-ed

If Australia’s brutal response to lockdown protests was happening elsewhere, hypocritical Canberra would be demanding sanctions

The world is watching in horror as Covid chaos unfolds on the streets Down Under, with heavy-handed elite police piling in on lockdown protestors using an arsenal of weapons that would be the envy of any authoritarian regime.

The online images are all too familiar: helmeted and masked police in body armour with batons held high, clubbing protestors lying on the ground as incapacitating pepper smoke burns their eyes and chokes their breath.

Meanwhile, mobs of rowdy protestors take over city streets, blocking traffic and disrupting the working week as they throw projectiles at ‘whoop-whooping’ police cars. Mayhem reigns.

The mainstream cope is that they aren't real Tradies, they all collectively went out to Kmart and bought hi-vis vests yesterday. #Melbourneprotestpic.twitter.com/uBFUH620Ky

— Syrian Girl 🇸🇾🎗 (@Partisangirl) September 21, 2021

But where is it? Burma? Hong Kong? Venezuela? Nope, it’s my home town of Melbourne, Australia.

If the scenes from three increasingly combative confrontations from the last four days were broadcast from any of the aforementioned nations, Aussie PM Scott Morrison and his ministers would be on their feet so quickly they’d have scorch marks on the seat of their trousers, as they denounced the over-the-top brutality on display against citizens exercising their democratic right to protest.

There would be ministerial statements condemning the police action in the strongest terms, ambassadors would be summoned to explain their nations’ unacceptable actions and the United Nations would face pressure to sanction this aberrant behaviour and start freezing assets.

Instead: nothing. Hypocrisy is alive and well Down Under, which is starting to resemble a bio-tech police state more than the Lucky Country.

While the Australian government might be keeping its counsel over the scenes of pensioners being pepper-sprayed by police, the silence has been filled by social media and well-intentioned if unwelcome concerns from across the Pacific, with commentators from America denouncing what they have seen online and calling for US sanctions against the Aussies.

This ain’t gonna happen, because number one US President Joe Biden is a Democrat and does not take orders from the GOP, and number two, the ink is not even dry on Morrison’s signature on the new AUKUS security pact. It, of course, encourages Australia, the US and UK to work together, not interfere in domestic policing issues. But hey, knock yerself out.

Nearly 400,000 Voter Identities Processed In Arizona Have No Match With Social Security Administration

A shocking report from Arizona last week reveals that hundreds of thousands of new voter registrations had no match within the Social Security Administration database.

After the state recently cross-checked more than 673,000 voter applicants’ profiles with the Social Security Administration, it found that 393,017, or 58 percent, of credentials did not have matching records with the SSA, according to the Gateway Pundit.

Image provided by the Gateway Pundit.

Normally, the state of Arizona compares about 2,000 new voter identity applications with the SSA per month – that is, until July 2021, where that number jumped to more than 70,000 per week. The trend dropped back down to several hundred on September 10, the outlet reported.

Arizona’s weekly processing reportedly includes one of the highest non-match percentages in the country compared to other states, staggering around 50 to 65 percent, where the average ratio throughout the rest of the country lies low between 15 to 25 percent.

This shocking revelation comes as a combination of 269,493 “lost” and “ghost” votes were discovered within Maricopa County alone, irregularities that could have potentially shifted the electoral results within Arizona. The full release of Arizona election audit report findings is expected Friday, Sept. 24.

Raising questions about who exactly is applying to become a voter in Arizona, and how many names without SSA records may have slipped through the cracks in previous years, the report could inspire even lower confidence in Arizonans concerned about election integrity.

Michael Corrigan pleads guilty for involvement in Murwillumbah protest

A movie stuntman who was seen riding a horse at protests in Tweed Heads and Murwillumbah has detailed his motivation for getting involved.

A movie stuntman who rode a horse in two different lockdown protests says he lost his job after the border between Queensland and NSW was closed.

Michael James Corrigan, 52, pleaded guilty in Murwillumbah Local Court on Wednesday to unlawfully participating in an outdoor gathering in a stay at home area.

Corrigan was charged for his involvement at a protest outside the Tweed Shire Council Chambers in Murwillumbah on August 31.

The court heard it happened nine days after he was fined for participating in a protest at the state border.

Defence lawyer Russell Baxter told the court his client lost his work in the film and TV industry when the borders were shut.

“This is the first time in his knowledge a person has been criticised for wanting to go to work,” Mr Baxter said.

He said his client thought taking the horse to the border protest would be a great idea for publicity and that he believed the horse, which was trained to be around people, would ensure he was socially distanced.

Mr Baxter said Corrigan had been asked by other protesters to attend the Murwillumbah protest with the horse, which he “foolishly” decided to attend, arriving late.

He told the court at both protests Corrigan had called for peaceful action and discouraged violence.

However, Magistrate Michael Dakin said Corrigan had addressed the remaining crowd, yelling out anti-lockdown slogans which hindered police moving people on.

“How can you submit that when you turn up horseback nine days after receiving an infringement for a similar offence … and you’re shouting anti-lockdown protest; how can you possibly say that’s not going to incite the crowd,” Mr Dakin said.

Mr Dakin went to adjourn the case for a disputed facts hearing however Mr Baxter conceded Corrigan had gone to the protest with the purpose of protesting the lockdown and border.

Mr Baxter said he only mentioned the anti-violence factor to compare to other violent protesters around the country which Mr Dakin said was irrelevant to his consideration.

Mr Baxter said Corrigan arrived late, there was no violence and he had refrained from going to further protests.

Bur Mr Dakin questioned why the $7000 in fines Corrigan received from the first protest hadn’t deterred him.

“In his mind the heavier handed the penalty, the more the government has something to hide,” Mr Baxter said.

Mr Dakin said Mr Corrigan had acted “incredibly selfishly” and had extremely high moral culpability and should be distinguished from people who had not been infringed nine-days earlier.

“This carries a penalty of six months imprisonment,” Mr Dakin said.

“He’s on notice.”

The case was adjourned to December 16 to allow Corrigan to get a sentencing assessment report.

Corrigan declined to comment when leaving the court.
