The US debt ceiling standoff is live & time is ticking. We've seen this movie before. Nothing happens because Republicans fold like junk mail & approve any spending bill. Will this time be different?

A govt shutdown is a good thing. "Oh no, but muh parks!" No one cares. "Oh no, muh free gibs!" Well, that's an issue for Republicans. They like free money hidden in these bills too. Especially health care related.

If the govt shuts down welfare, corona checks, & foreign aid for an extended period (months), then we will all have a clearer view of who's in charge & what's being done.
