The people are tired of the tyrants. The people want freedom. Melbourne is on its sixth lockdown. SIXTH.

The protests started over the weekend, which Fuzzy covered. The police used pepper spray on the protesters.

The protests did not stop. The Melbourne police took it up a notch with rubber bullets and pepper balls. They arrested over 200 people.

Authorities also claim that far-right groups hijacked the protests. Because, you know, only tradespeople have a problem with the fascists taking away their freedoms:

Authorities and union officials had warned that extremist and far-right groups have also joined the protests.

“There were some people there who you would say were from the building industry,” Victoria state premier Daniel Andrews said.

“There were others who were not. They are not there to protest, they are there for a fight, pretend to be protesting.”

In fact, the police and authorities are so in the right on this that they got a no-fly zone order over Melbourne.

Huh. So that means the media cannot fly over the protests and document the police hunting down the protesters.

Wait! The media rightfully pitched a fit. Authorities made a few concessions:

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) confirmed to 9News.com.au that Victoria Police had been granted a temporary restricted airspace order over the CBD as they face ongoing protests. Initially media helicopters were completely banned to fly, but Victoria Police have backtracked to allow any who have been given permission but demanded a 60-minute delay on broadcasting any aerial images.

From Thursday, no aircraft is allowed within a three nautical mile radius or below 2500 feet of Melbourne’s CBD without permission from police.

The protesters made them do it, you guys. The media videos and livestreams help out the protesters!

Australia’s 9News Director of News and Current Affairs Darren Wick is frustrated by the move. He insists they support the police, but they cannot stop the media from doing its job.

Wick’s response makes me think he doesn’t buy the vomit coming from the police:

“But to restrict us from seeing what’s there – you can’t do that. They say democracy dies in darkness.

“We have to be able to see. We have to be able to show the public what is happening. We’re not a police state. It’s very unprecedented and it’s very uncomfortable the decision that has been made.”

I do the Tea cold during the day or hot in the morning if it is not a coffee day

The Tea is made in a crock pot same I use to make quinine I use tin shears to crack off pieces from a big hunk of chaga shroom and then place a handful of those in the pot and fill it with filtered water, I hang about four green tea bags with it, and just let it cook all day or till it gets to be a dark black color. I pour it off into bottles and use for a hot or cold drink. I use the chaga pieces for two batches, but add new tea bags on a second batch.

For coffee, I use Columbian dark coffee, I make it in a coffeemaker and then after I pour a cup, I add and stir in a tea spoon or half don't really measure, of Reshi and also Cordyceps powder

If I do the Chaga tea hot, I also ad the other shrooms

If I am low on the pot of coffee and want another cup or a top off, I just pour some of the cold Chaga tea in with the coffee and nuke it

Do you know where they are? 43 missing persons cases the FBI needs help solving

Hundreds of thousands of people go missing every year, according to FBI data. In 2020, more than 540,000 people went missing, including more than 340,000 juveniles, according to the data.

In May, the FBI conducted an internal audit of its field offices and compiled a list of 43 active missing persons cases of people under the age of 21 that the agency says need fresh leads. Some date back decades.

The agency conducted the audit around National Missing Children’s Day, May 25, as part of an annual practice of taking inventory of ongoing cases, said Siobhan Johnson, an FBI special agent and spokesperson in Chicago who provided the list to USA TODAY.

"We are just looking for fresh leads," Johnson said, noting the list is hardly all-inclusive. "Now is a good time to start soliciting for additional information."

Thomas Lauth, who runs a missing persons agency in Indianapolis, said the combination of factors in Petito’s case — the multiple states involved, videos of the couple arguing and a 911 call about her fiancé slapping her — made for headlines.

But underlying all this is what experts call "missing white woman syndrome," in which white women — particularly young, attractive and blonde — get the majority of the media’s attention.

Wealth and class also play a role, so much so that Lauth advises clients of all backgrounds to create GoFundMe pages, hold vigils, contact the media and be available for interviews to drive awareness

The generals are industrialists. The "presidential" level of commander-in-chief is shared by the international bankers. The people know that they have created this farce and financed it with their own taxes (consent), but they would rather knuckle under than be the hypocrite.

Thus, a nation becomes divided into two very distinct parts, a docile sub-nation [great silent majority] and a political sub-nation. It is possible to read someone’s mind by remotely measuring their brain activity, researchers have shown. The technique can even extract information from subjects that they are not aware of themselves.

So far, it has only been used to identify visual patterns a subject can see or has chosen to focus on. But the researchers speculate the approach might be extended to probe a person’s awareness, focus of attention, memory and movement intention. In the meantime, it could help doctors work out if patients apparently in a coma are actually conscious.

Scientists have already trained monkeys to move a robotic arm with the power of thought and to recreate scenes moving in front of cats by recording information directly from the feline’s neurons (New Scientist print edition, 2 October 1999). But these processes involve implanting electrodes into their brains to hook them up to a computer.

Now Yukiyasu Kamitani, at ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories in Kyoto, Japan, and Frank Tong at Princeton University in New Jersey, US, have achieved similar “mind reading” feats remotely using functional MRI scanning.

Between the lines

The pair showed patterns of parallel lines in 1 of 8 orientations to four volunteers. By focussing on brain regions involved in visual perception they were able to recognise which orientation the subjects were observing.

Each line orientation corresponded to a different pattern of brain activity, although the patterns were different in each person. What is more, when two sets of lines were superimposed and the subjects were asked to focus on one set, the researchers could work out which one they were thinking of from the brain images.

In a separate study, also published in Nature Neuroscience, John-Dylan Haynes and Geraint Rees at University College London, UK, showed two patterns in quick succession to 6 volunteers. The first appeared for just 15 milliseconds – too quick to be consciously perceived by the viewer.

But by viewing fMRI images of the brain, the researchers were able to say which image had been flashed in front of the subjects. The information was perceived in the brain even if the volunteers were not consciously aware of it.

The study probed the part of the visual cortex that detects a visual stimulus, but does not perceive it. “It encodes what we don’t see,” Haynes says. He thinks that, further along the visual pathway, brain regions consciously take note that there has been a stimulus. But this does not happen for the “invisible” stimulus.

Consciousness kicks in

By understanding the perception pathway and working out the point at which consciousness kicks in, patient consciousness could be diagnosed. This would mean the setup could be used as a “consciousness-meter,” says Haynes; “a device that allows us to assess whether a patient is consciously perceiving his or her outside environment.”

Yang Dan, a neurobiologist at the University of California in Berkeley, agrees this would be possible. But she cautions that there is little agreement over what consciousness actually is.

More subtle forms of mind-reading such as working out intentions or beliefs are much more speculative, she argues. Even if such subtle information could be gleaned from brain scans both studies suggest the patterns are unique to individuals.

And using the technique as an alternative to the polygraph would be very risky, says Dan. “The relationship between brain patterns and lies may be very loose.”
