The FBI took steps in early 2017 to close its investigation into former Trump adviser Michael Flynn before abruptly reversing course, according to new documents filed in Flynn’s pending legal effort to rescind his guilty plea for lying to federal agents.

The filings indicate that by Jan. 4, 2017, the FBI had drafted a document summarizing findings on a probe — code-named “Crossfire Razor” — of whether Flynn had been acting as a Russian agent during the 2016 campaign. The partly redacted document, which was included in the court filings, indicated the FBI had no “derogatory” information on Flynn and was prepared to close the case.

“A review of logical … databases did not yield information on which to predicate further investigative efforts,” the document reads.

But messages later that afternoon between senior agents and FBI officials show a last-minute reversal, driven by discussions at the bureau’s highest levels.

''-“Hey, don’t close RAZOR,” FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok wrote to an agent whose name is redacted but is identified in the conversation as the official case agent. He adds, “7th floor involved,” a reference to the highest echelons of FBI leadership.''

The partly redacted messages don’t indicate why the reversal occurred — it came just 20 minutes after the document to close the case had been circulating and less than a week after Flynn spoke by phone to a top Russian diplomat.

A new trove of interview summaries and notes from the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails lays out a series of allegations that could prove fodder for future attacks on the Democratic presidential nominee.

The 100 pages, released Monday morning, include claims that Clinton “blatantly” disregarded protocol. Other claims include that a group of powerful State Department employees attempted to coordinate a document release, and that a department official asked for a “quid pro quo” related to the former secretary of state’s emails.

The documents, part four of four to be released by the FBI, include notes and interview summaries that may illuminate more about the bureau’s decision not to recommend Clinton be prosecuted for her actions.

Many Republicans have criticized that decision, but FBI Director James Comey has repeatedly insisted the move was apolitical.

“I want the American people to know we really did this the right way. You can disagree with us, but you cannot fairly say we did it in any kind of political way,” Comey said in July. “We don’t carry water for anybody. We were trying to do what the right thing is.”

Former Trump White House official Dr. Sebastian Gorka, says a senior FBI agent told him that the “7th floor of the FBI looks at the Trump White House as the enemy.”

Gorka joined me on my radio talk show on WMAL in Washington DC this week. I asked him about his reaction to the recent news stories showing a clear political bias among manu senior officials at the FBI and the Justice Department and how it might have triggered some of the challenges the Trump Administration faced in the early months of 2017:

Gorka: Let me give you something that I haven’t shared frequently but illustrates the enormity of the issue. So when I came in my rank was Deputy Assistant to the President. And I wanted to build a team inside the White House to do the kind of terrorism work that we were mandated to do. And I wanted to bring three of my former students in as detailees, these were the smartest kids I trained at graduate level and they were all at the FBI. So I put my request in, as a Deputy to the President to the FBI, they did nothing.They slow rolled it for 6 months, which is weird because they actually work for the President until I find out from senior FBI agents, this is a direct quote, “The 7th floor of the FBI looks at the Trump White House as the enemy”.

Bayer says Monsanto likely kept files on influential people across Europe

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Bayer said on Monday its Monsanto unit, which is being investigated by French prosecutors for compiling files of influential people such as journalists in France, likely did the same across Europe, suggesting a potentially wider problem.

French prosecutors said on Friday they had opened an inquiry after newspaper Le Monde filed a complaint alleging that Monsanto - acquired by Bayer for $63 billion last year - had kept a file of 200 names, including journalists and lawmakers in hopes of influencing positions on pesticides.

On Sunday, Bayer acknowledged the existence of the files, saying it does not believe any laws were broken but that it will ask an external law firm to investigate.

“It’s safe to say that other countries in Europe were affected by lists … I assume that all EU member states could potentially be affected,” Matthias Berninger, Bayer’s head of public affairs and sustainability, told journalists on Monday.

While he did not say there had any illegal activity and added it was up to the external law firm to evaluate the conduct, Berninger said there were signs Monsanto had not played fairly in the use of private data.

“There have been a number of cases where - as they would say in football - not the ball was played but the man, or woman, was tackled,” Berninger, who joined Bayer in January, said on a conference call.

“When you collect non-publicly available data about individuals a Rubicon is clearly crossed,” regardless of whether data privacy laws were actually violated, he added.

He repeated an apology issued by Bayer over the weekend.

French public-sector research institutes Inra and CNRS on Monday said they would file criminal complaints over mishandling of personal data, after finding that some of their researchers and executives featured on the Monsanto stakeholder lists.

Bayer said in its initial statement on Sunday that “Currently, we have no indication that the preparation of the lists under discussion violated any legal provisions.”

It added, “Bayer will ask an external law firm to investigate the project Monsanto commissioned and evaluate the allegations. The law firm will also inform all of the persons on the lists of the information collected about them”.

Work with the PR agencies that were commissioned by Monsanto for the project at the time has been suspended, it said.

Bayer already faces potentially heavy costs from U.S. class-action lawsuits in which plaintiffs argue that Monsanto’s Roundup weedkiller causes cancer.

Bayer shares have shed more than 40 percent since a first adverse U.S. judgment on Roundup last August, leaving the company with a market capitalization smaller than the price it paid for Monsanto.

Shareholders delivered a rare rebuke to CEO Werner Baumann’s management team at Bayer’s annual general meeting last month, with a majority voting against ratifying the executive board’s business conduct in 2018.

MADISON, Wis. (WTVO) — Two Afghan evacuees have been charged with crimes while at Fort McCoy.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Bahrullah Noori, 20, is charged with attempting to engage in a sexual act with a minor using force against that person, and three counts of engaging in a sexual act with a minor. The indictment says the victims were not yet 16, and were at least 4 years younger than Noori.

Mohammad Haroon Imaad, 32, is charged with assaulting his spouse by strangling and suffocating her on September 7th.

Both men are being held at the Dane County Jail.

Noori faces up to 30 years to life if convicted; Imaad faces up to 10 years in prison.

The FBI and the Fort McCoy Police Department conducted the investigations against the two men.

The Associated Press reports that 12,000 refugees are staying at Fort McCoy after being evacuated during the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban.

Another infantry charge from Heister this time was again repulsed despite help from the imperial cuirassiers; when the Imperial lines started breaking up, the Janissaries decided to push forward at the Habsburg center but in doing so exposed both of their flanks.

János Pálffy with the Habsburg cavalry pushed back the Ottoman Cavalry blocking simultaneously the escape route of the Janissaries, the Habsburg infantry moved in after the remaining Turks. Prince Eugene launched a general attack leading the charge himself against the Ottoman's encampment. Damat Ali Pasha who, at the head of his bodyguard, plunged into the battle in a desperate charge, was killed, as well as the governors of Anatolia and Adana, Türk Ahmed Pasha and Hüseyn Pasha, along with 20,000 men. The Imperialists loss were 3,695 common soldiers and 469 officers. The battle was over by 2 pm. Prince Eugene of Savoy had taken only five hours to rout the Ottomans. Eugene wrote his report on the battle from Damad Ali's tent, reporting the seizure of 172 cannons, 156 banners, and five horse-tail standards as well as the Turkish war chest.

Aftermath

The imperial army spent the 5th and 6th of August on the battlefield, on the 7th it crossed the left bank of the Danube. A cavalry group made up of 1,400 riders, including 200 hussars, under General Carl Graf von Eckh set out in pursuit of the Turks.

Within 20 days, Prince Eugene had marched his army into the Banat subduing the countryside with the help of Serbian irregulars and besieged the fortress of Temeşvar which had been in Ottoman hands since 1552; on 16 October after a siege of 43 days, Temeşvar surrendered. It was followed by Belgrade, which fell into the hands of the Habsburg armies on 18 August 1717, when once again Eugene led the Austrian army to victory against superior forces, advancing for the first time deep into Ottoman territory.

In 1697 a last major Turkish attempt to conquer Hungary was made; Sultan Mustafa II personally led the invasion force. In a surprise attack, Habsburg Imperial forces commanded by Prince Eugene of Savoy engaged the Turkish army while it was halfway through crossing the Tisza river at Zenta, 80 miles northwest of Belgrade. The scale of the defeat forced the Ottoman Empire into the Treaty of Karlowitz (1699) ceding Croatia, Hungary, Transylvania and Slavonia to Austria. Zenta was one of the Ottoman Empire's greatest defeats and ultimately signalled the end of Ottoman dominance in Europe.

This afternoon Judge Emmet Sullivan unsealed an additional 11-pages of documents showing more background information about how the FBI was targeting former National Security Advisor General Michael Flynn. [Court pdf Here] Also embedded below.

The release today is even more revealing than the handwritten notes released last night; and specifically President Obama’s “by the book” statement on January 5, 2017, takes on an entirely new light. They may not realize it yet, but this release implicates Obama.

Within the release we discover an “Electronic Communication” or “EC” from the Washington FBI field office recommending to close the FBI investigation of General Flynn on January 4, 2017, due to “no derogatory information.” However, FBI Agent Peter Strzok immediately responds to the FBI team [main headquarters] saying: “don’t do it yet’… and the plot unfolds.

There are FBI codenames within the release that need some explanation prior to review:

o Crossfire Hurricane (CH) is the overall investigation that began in July 2016

o Crossfire Typhoon (CT) is George Papadopoulos.

o Crossfire Razor (CR) is Michael Flynn.

Federal law enforcement agencies in the Biden administration are reportedly purchasing numerous surveillance drones from a Chinese company that the Pentagon has cited as a potential national security risk.

According to procurement records shared with Axios, the troubled U.S. Secret Service bought eight drones on July 26 from Da Jiang Innovations (DJI), a Shenzhen-based company that “dominates the commercial drone market in the U.S. and abroad” and whose products “require the user to download proprietary DJI software, and to fly using mapping databases that have the potential to be monitored remotely.”

The scandal-ridden Federal Bureau of Investigation also made purchases from DJI, having bought 19 of the company’s drones a few days prior.

The July 26 purchase by the Secret Service came three days after the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) issued a statement warning that DJI systems “pose potential threats to national security.”

“Mitigating the threats posed by small [Unmanned Aircraft Systems], including DJI systems, remains a priority across the Department, and DOD continues to ensure existing policy remains current and appropriately implemented,” the statement read.

In 2017, the Department of Homeland Security released an intelligence bulletin on the company, warning that DJI was “providing U.S. critical infrastructure and law enforcement data to the Chinese government.” The report also noted with “high confidence” that the company is “selectively targeting government and privately owned entities within these sectors to expand its ability to collect and exploit sensitive U.S. data.”

Concerns over DJI’s threat to national security also caused the Interior Department to ground all non-emergency-use drones in 2019, with U.S. officials sounding the alarm that continued usage of Chinese-based technology “might be putting critical infrastructure at risk” and “sending information back to the Chinese government or hackers elsewhere to use for cyberattacks or other offenses.”

The Chinese drone company was also placed on the Commerce Department’s Entity List last year, which designates DJI as a national security concern and officially prohibits U.S.-based companies from exporting technology to the company.

Lets take a walk through the information starting with the FBI electronic communication.

First it is valuable to note three points from the first page:

“DOJSCO” – The Special Counsel Office had this information from the outset. That means everyone in/around the Mueller investigation already knew this information. That also means that Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein was aware of it.

Pay close attention to the dates. This EC was written on January 4, 2017. Dates are critical. When you compare the text messages and emails from Peter Strzok and other participants always refer to the dates to tell the big story.

Note the framework for the investigation itself was centered around Michael Flynn violating FARA (Foreign Agent Registration Act) laws based on a fraudulent premise of Flynn working for Russian interests. The FBI using FARA is a critical point. FARA was used as the primary justification by the DOJ and FBI for all political surveillance.

The FBI Washington Field Office says they are going to close the investigation of General Flynn because there is no derogatory information as a result of multiple investigative inquires:

The EC document then describes their work with Confidential Human Source (CHS) Stefan Halper. Interestingly, Halper lied to the FBI and told them he had attended an event with Michael Flynn in Moscow and was a direct eye-witness. “During the debriefing the CTH relayed an incident s/he witnessed”…. Halper never attended the Moscow event; he lied to the FBI.

The EC notes the FBI is closing this investigation. However, Peter Strzok goes bananas and immediately starts texting FBI officials to keep the investigation open….

Which leads to a 2:22pm message where Peter Strzok notes “7th floor involved”. That means FBI Director James Comey is now engaged on the issue.

James Comey being actively engaged is important. Previously Comey said he was unaware of what they were doing… Additionally this text and activity is January 4, 2017.

The very next day, January 5th, James Comey goes to the White House for a meeting with President Obama and Vice-President Biden.

January 5th is the White House meeting where National Security Advisor Susan Rice, FBI Director James Comey (Crossfire Hurricane), and Deputy AG Sally Yates (Flynn FARA) are talking to President Obama about the status of the Flynn FBI investigation and President Obama says “by the book”.

1/4/17 – FBI wants to close investigation.

1/4/17 – Peter Strzok says no wait… I have a plan.

1/4/17 – James Comey involved. “7th Floor Involved”

1/5/17 – James Comey goes to White House.

1/5/17 – President Obama says: OK, but make sure “by the book”. [Susan Rice Memo]

“President Obama began the conversation by stressing his continued commitment to ensuring that every aspect of this issue is handled by the Intelligence and law enforcement communities “by the book“.”

“The President stressed that he is not asking about, initiating or instructing anything from a law enforcement perspective. He reiterated that our law enforcement team needs to proceed as it normally would, “by the book.””

On 11 September, the Ottoman army began to ford the river Tisza near Zenta, unaware that the Imperial Army was nearby. The command of the Turkish cavalry was under Hungarian Imre Thököly, who also supported the sultan with some additional Kuruc cavalry.

The Imperial Dragoon of General Starhemberg dismounted and proceeded to the moat encircling and engaging the Ottoman camp and soon broke through the Turkish line of defence. Ottoman troops behind the entrenchments retreated in confusion to the bridge, which was now overcrowded, heavily bombarded, and soon collapsed.

Thrown into disorder, the trapped Ottoman troops fell into chaos with thousands falling into the river. Austrian artillery devastated the surviving Ottomans as they tried to escape. The Sultan watched helplessly from the other side, before he decided, after ordering the remaining troops to secure the bridge, to abandon his army and retreat. Escorted by a cavalry detachment and accompanied by his tutor and mentor Sheikh-ul-Islam Feyzullah Efendi, Mustafa set off for Temeşvar, without stopping along the way, taking only what horses could carry. When the Habsburg army reached the far bank they found that the sultan had left behind him 87 cannon, 9000 baggage carts, 6000 camels and 15,000 oxen. In addition, the Austrians found the Ottoman royal treasure chest, containing three million piastres and the state seal of Grand Sultan Mustafa II of the Ottoman Empire which had never been captured by an enemy before. The seal was inscribed with the words "Mustafa, son of Mehmed Han, always victorious" and the year of his accession to the throne "1106 of the Hejra" (1695 according to the Christian calendar). After the victory, Prince Eugene personally presented the emperor with the pieces that were captured at the Battle of Zenta.

In total 30,000 Turks died, including many of the most senior figures in the Ottoman military-administrative establishment; the grand vizier was murdered on the battlefield by mutinous Janissaries. In contrast, the Holy League suffered only 429 casualties. The great difference in casualties was partly due to the tactical superiority of the imperial army and cannon technology which, unlike the Ottomans, the Austrians had improved to a great extent.

The siege of Buda (1686) was fought between the Holy League and the Ottoman Empire, as part of the follow-up campaign in Hungary after the Battle of Vienna. The Holy League took Buda (modern day Budapest) after a long siege.

Over 3,000 Turks were killed in the slaughter perpetrated by imperial troops, and the violence was directed not only against the Muslims, but likewise against the Jewish population of Buda. Biden Pushing For Dishonourable Discharges, Court Martials For Troops Who Refuse Vaccines

The Biden administration is pushing for dishonourable discharges and even court martialing for troops who disobey orders to get COVID vaccines.

GOP Representative Mark Green of Tennessee proposed an amendment this week to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would prohibit “any discharge but honorable” for troops who refuse vaccines.

The White House responded with a statement noting “The Administration strongly opposes section 716,” reasoning that it would “detract from readiness and limit a commander’s options for enforcing good order and discipline when a Service member fails to obey a lawful order to receive a vaccination.”

The statement added “To enable a uniformed force to fight with discipline, commanders must have the ability to give orders and take appropriate disciplinary measures.”

Responding to the statement, Rep. Green said “I am appalled that the Biden Administration is trying to remove my amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act that prevents anything but an honorable discharge for service members who refuse to get the COVID-19 vaccine.”

Green added “This was a bipartisan amendment — every Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee agreed to it.”

“No American who raises their hand to serve our Nation should be punished for making a highly personal medical decision,” Green previously urged.

Another section of the bill, 720, proposes that troops who have previously had COVID-19 should be exempted from a vaccine mandate. The Biden administration also opposes it, claiming it creates “a new and overly broad exemption from the vaccination requirement for previous infection that would undermine the effectiveness of the requirement.”

The House is expected to vote on the NDAA early Thursday morning.

As we have previously noted, there has been significant resistance to vaccine mandates among military service members.
