Since K-12 schools are detention institutions anyway, we should go the rest of the way and put in metal detectors at the entrances.
One usual question I haven't seen asked about this shooting (maybe I missed it somewhere): how did he get his weapon into school?
We have a problem of students shooting students in school. We need a solution that matches the scope of the problem. Do NOT limit adults' access to firearms in general. But prevent students and untrusted people from bringing them into school.
Even if the metal detectors are only useful to stop these setup shootings, that may be what we need to stop these and stop the pressure to restrict gun rights of those who are entitled by the Constitution to have guns.
