Chicago Threatens to Withhold Retirement Benefits From Cops Who Retire Rather than Submit to Mayor Lightfoot’s COVID Vaccine Mandate

Chicago has upped its battle with police officers over the mandated COVID vaccine, issuing a statement Sunday night threatening the retirement benefits of officers who opt to retire from the force rather than submit to Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s COVID vaccine mandate and reporting system.

A copy of the notice was reported by WMAQ-TV reporter Mary Ann Ahern who posted a copy to Twitter:

“TO BE READ AT ALL ROLL CALLS FOR SEVEN (7) CONSECUTIVE DAYS. This AMC message informs Department members of the consequences of disobeying a direct order to comply with the City of Chicago’s Vaccination Policy issued 8 October 2021 and being the subject of the resulting disciplinary investigation. A Department member, civilian or sworn, who disobeys a direct order by a supervisor to comply with the City of Chicago’s Vaccination Policy issued 8 October 2021 will become the subject of a disciplinary investigation that could result in a penalty up to and including separation from the Chicago Police Department. Furthermore, sworn members who retire while under a disciplinary investigation may be denied retirement credentials…”

Last week a Cook County judge barred the president of the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police John Catanzara from speaking out against Chicago’s COVID vaccine mandate and vaccine status reporting portal.

The Chicago Tribune reported Monday on the FOP’s response to Sunday’s threatening statement by police brass(excerpt):

The FOP, in response, sent a document to its members that provides language officers can use should they be asked to go to Internal Affairs and given a direct order to report their vaccination status through the city portal, according to multiple law enforcement sources.

“Complying with this INVALID order and the violation of MY Bargaining, Constitutional and Civil Rights has furthermore caused me severe anxiety while challenging both my religious and moral beliefs. I am in fact complying with this because I am being forced to do so under complete duress and threats of termination,” the document reads.

The union told members who receive a direct order from a supervisor to have that supervisor add their name to the FOP-provided document and advised members to keep a copy for themselves and send another to the union. According to a law enforcement source, the union also is urging members to turn on their body cameras and record the encounters, a call Chicago police union president John Catanzara has made before.

Lightfoot ordered back in August that all city employees must be vaccinated by October 15. The deadline was later modified, after objections by the police union, to the end of the year but with a proviso that unvaccinated workers submit to twice-weekly testing at their own expense. All workers must report their vaccine status through an online portal starting this Friday or face being put on no-pay status.

Study Published On NIH Website Finds ‘No Discernable Relationship’ Between Vaccine Status And COVID Cases, Says Infection Rate May Be Higher Among Fully Vaccinated

"In fact, the trend line suggests a marginally positive association such that countries with higher percentage of population fully vaccinated have higher COVID-19 cases per 1 million people."

A new study published in the NIH NCBI database and authored by Harvard professor S. V. Subramanian, Ph.D, and Penn State professor Akhil Kumar, Ph.D claims that vaccination rates have “no discernable relationship” with the amount of new COVID cases, and notes that “In fact, the trend line suggests a marginally positive association such that countries with higher percentage of population fully vaccinated have higher COVID-19 cases per 1 million people.”

“At the country-level, there appears to be no discernable relationship between percentage of population fully vaccinated and new COVID-19 cases in the last 7 days,” the report states. “In fact, the trend line suggests a marginally positive association such that countries with higher percentage of population fully vaccinated have higher COVID-19 cases per 1 million people. Notably, Israel with over 60% of their population fully vaccinated had the highest COVID-19 cases per 1 million people in the last 7 days.”

Additionally, the report points out that “The lack of a meaningful association between percentage population fully vaccinated and new COVID-19 cases is further exemplified, for instance, by comparison of Iceland and Portugal. Both countries have over 75% of their population fully vaccinated and have more COVID-19 cases per 1 million people than countries such as Vietnam and South Africa that have around 10% of their population fully vaccinated.”

“Across the US counties too, the median new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people in the last 7 days is largely similar across the categories of percent population fully vaccinated (Fig. 2),” the report continues. “Notably there is also substantial county variation in new COVID-19 cases within categories of percentage population fully vaccinated. There also appears to be no significant signaling of COVID-19 cases decreasing with higher percentages of population fully vaccinated (Fig. 3).”

The study further notes that “Of the top 5 counties that have the highest percentage of population fully vaccinated (99.9–84.3%), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identifies 4 of them as ‘High’ Transmission counties. Chattahoochee (Georgia), McKinley (New Mexico), and Arecibo (Puerto Rico) counties have above 90% of their population fully vaccinated with all three being classified as ‘High’ transmission. Conversely, of the 57 counties that have been classified as “low” transmission counties by the CDC, 26.3% (15) have percentage of population fully vaccinated below 20%.”

McAuliffe Agrees Public Schools Should Not Tell Parents If Their Child Is ‘Gender Fluid’

Hiding children's gender confusion from parents is now current policy in Virginia schools, proudly endorsed by Democrat gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe.

Imagine the following as a Glenn Youngkin ad:

The number of youth confused about their gender is up over 1,000 percent.

If it’s your child, Terry McAuliffe doesn’t think you should know about their struggle. He would force schools to hide a student’s new name and pronouns from parents. He even supports policies where schools use the child’s birth name with parents but a different name at school.

New genders without parental consent. Pitting parents against children. Terry McAuliffe’s education agenda is bad for Virginia.

Shockingly, these claims are true. Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam signed a bill into law in March 2020 that mandates the Virginia Department of Education develop “model policies concerning the treatment of transgender students in public elementary and secondary schools.”

The model policies came out in April of this year, and they are frightening. McAuliffe proudly endorses them on his website. They mandate co-ed bathrooms for all, force teachers and students to accept and use new names and pronouns, and clear the way for boys to participate in girls’ sports.

All school boards in Virginia were required to have adopted the model policies by the start of the current school year. Many Virginia school boards have passed the model policies, while others have bravely rejected them.

In a high-profile case, a teacher in Loudoun County was placed on leave in May for refusing to comply with its version. The Virginia Department of Education has even threatened school superintendents that schools will be on the hook for civil damages that result from “noncompliance.”

Don’t Tell Parents If Their Child Is Gender Confused

The most pernicious aspect of the model policies is the alarming mandate that schools not tell parents if their son or daughter has adopted a new gender at school: “If a student is not ready or able to safely share with their family about their gender identity, this should be respected.”

The policies even suggest teachers use a child’s birth name with parents but a name of the opposite sex at school. Apparently, McAuliffe has no objection to schools giving teachers the green light to deceive parents about their children’s adoption of a false identity.

Joe Biden: ‘Unfortunately’ Colin Powell’s Coronavirus Vaccine ‘Didn’t Work’ Due to ‘Underlying Conditions’

President Joe Biden expressed his regret Monday that former Secretary of State Colin Powell died of complications from the coronavirus, despite being fully vaccinated.

Biden commented on Powell’s death after a surprise appearance at the White House honoring the State and National Teachers of the Year on Monday.

“By the way, he had serious underlying conditions, as you know, that’s the problem. It wasn’t that the vaccinations aren’t good, he had two very serious underlying conditions,” he told reporters. “And unfortunately didn’t work. God love him.”

Biden was referring to Powell being treated for multiple myeloma and early stage Parkinson’s disease before his death.

Powell’s family did not mention any underlying conditions in their statement announcing his death.

Biden snapped at a reporter who asked if he still wanted Americans to get vaccinated.

“Absolutely,” he replied. “I know you don’t believe that. So ask questions that you really want an answer to, okay?”

Powell’s death from the virus, despite his being fully vaccinated, sparked immediate controversy on social media among vaccine supporters and opponents.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said during the daily briefing that deaths of fully vaccinated individuals are “extremely rare.”

“That has been the case even before the death of Colin Powell, especially among people, older people over a certain age, and people who have underlying health issues or people who are battling other diseases,” she said.

California Teachers, Parents Plan Statewide Walkout Over Gov. Newsom’s Vaccine Mandate

California teachers and parents on Monday are planning a statewide walkout in protest of Governor Gavin Newsom’s vaccine mandates for public and private schools.

California became the first state to require coronavirus vaccines for grades K through 12 to attend in-person classes after Newsom announced the mandate on October 1. The order currently affects students older than 12, and it will affect children aged 5 to 11 once the vaccine gets final federal approval. Newsom’s plan impacts both public and private schools and also includes exemptions for religious and medical reasons.

Staff and teachers are also required to get the vaccine or submit to testing under the mandate.

Thousands of parents are expected to keep their children home from school, with teachers and staff being encouraged to skip out on the day as well.

One motivator for the protests is the money schools will miss out on if kids are not present in class. “We know that if our children stay home from school that that will impact the funding that schools will get for that day,” California parent Babe Prieto explained. “And we want them to know that we’re serious about not being forced to vaccinate our children.”

According to the California Department of Education, state funding per student is $13,976. With California requiring schools to teach at least 180 days of the year, schools are getting up to $78 per student daily.

One California school is canceling all classes on Monday because of the protest. Oak Run Elementary in Shasta County reportedly sent a letter to families saying, “Parents, educators, and students across the U.S. will engage in peaceful noncompliance activities to remind government officials that individuals should have the final say when it comes to their health.”

Amy Keurentjes, a doctor and mother of five, told a local newspaper, “I’m just out here fighting for freedom. I want to see freedom for health care workers. I want to see freedom for educators.”

In addition to the walkout, thousands are expected to attend a protest scheduled in Sacramento. According to CalMatters, “around 2,500 people are slated to protest in front of the state Capitol building in Sacramento for an event called ‘Our Children, Our Choice.’”

California parents and teachers are not alone in their opposition to Newsom’s vaccine mandates. According to the Sacramento Bee, nearly 40% of state workers remain unvaccinated, despite Newsom’s July order requiring all state employees to get vaccinated.

DC Suspends Most of Its Metro Trains Over Safety Issue

WASHINGTON—Washington’s regional Metro system abruptly pulled more than half its fleet of trains from service early Monday morning over a lingering problem with the wheels and axles that caused a dramatic derailing last week. The ruling promises to complicate daily travel and commutes for thousands of riders for an unspecified length of time while the National Transportation Safety Board investigates the issue.

The Metro authority’s safety commission ordered the withdrawal of the entire 7000-series line of trains overnight. The Kawasaki-made 7000—series are the newest set of trains in service and the 748 cars comprise about 60 percent of the fleet.

NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy told reporters Monday that a design flaw had been identified which caused the trains’ wheels to spread too wide on the axles, allowing the carriage to slip off the tracks.

“We’re at the preliminary stage of our investigation—just trying to collect data and information,” Homendy said. “This could have resulted in a catastrophic event.”

The wheel issue is being blamed for an incident last week in which a train car slipped off the tracks on the Metro’s blue line near Arlington Cemetery. Homendy said the car had apparently derailed once and then re-connected with the rails by itself, before derailing a second time. Some passengers were trapped in a tunnel in a dark train car and had to be evacuated on foot.

The safety ruling had already snarled commutes across the nation’s capital and the intertwined communities of northern Virginia and southern Maryland. Passengers on social media reported widespread delays with commuters waiting up to 45 minutes between trains and crowding chaotically into whatever space was available.

Union Pacific Railroad Files Federal Lawsuit Over Unions’ Objections to Joe Biden’s Forced Vaccines

Last Thursday SMART Union General Chairperson Roy Davis sent a letter to advise Union Pacific Company that the SMART Union strongly disagrees with the company’s “unilateral” requirement for COVID vaccinations.

SMART demanded an immediate response and demands that Carrier negotiates in good faith.

This is a huge move by America’s transportation employees union.

There are now three unions at Union Pacific Railroad protesting the Biden vaccine mandates.

On Friday Union Pacific Railroad filed a federal lawsuit over the unions’ objections to the Biden forced vaccine mandates.

Union Pacific Railroad on Oct. 15 filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court after receiving communications from three unions protesting the Class I’s vaccination mandate.

The unions involved are the Transportation Division of the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers (SMART-TD), the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) and Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees (BMWED).

“This action is necessary to prevent any disruption of the national rail network and to avoid any impact on America’s supply chain, as it continues to recover from the pandemic,” UP spokeswoman Robynn Tysver said in an email.

In the lawsuit, UP seeks to have any dispute over the mandate resolved through the various dispute resolution procedures outlined in the Railway Labor Act, she said.

“We continue to work with our employees and their union representatives as we comply with the law. We look forward to the court’s help in that effort,” Tysver added.

UP announced last week that it will comply with the White House’s executive order requiring employees of federal contractors to get vaccinated by Dec. 8.

In September alone, foreign lobbying disclosure documents show the Saudi government signing deals with PR powerhouse Edelman and lobbying leviathan the Podesta Group, according to recent disclosures. Edelman, the largest privately owned public relations agency in the world, is known for helping clients win favorable media coverage on mainstream outlets. The Podesta Group is a lobbying firm founded by Tony Podesta, a major fundraiser for the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign.

The new signings are the latest in a year-long hiring spree by the Persian Gulf state as it further builds up its already formidable political arsenal inside the Beltway. The Saudi Arabian Royal Embassy did not respond to a request for comment. In March, the Saudi Royal Embassy retained two influential lobbying firms, DLA Piper and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. DLA Piper, for instance, employs a small army of former government officials, including retired U.S. Sens. Saxby Chambliss and George Mitchell. Also in March, the embassy retained two firms that specialize in analyzing big data for political clients, Targeted Victory and Zignal Labs.
