Click on "+more" to learn that their mother died in the Ukraine and their father brought them to the US for a better life. Their grandmother is Mrs. Kalmanovitch, who came to the US to help raise the twins. Pic 3 seems weird. Anon wonders why the photographer felt compelled, in 1980, to "…do a book about their lives." (see NYTimes article below). Wonder if the book was ever written?

Are there any Ukrainian Anons who could tell us if Sanya is short for Alexander in Ukraine? It seems that Alexander is actually Semyon Alexander Vindman. Is Sanya short for Senyom in Ukraine? Who was Semyon Vindman (the Vindman boys' father) back in the Ukraine?
