I am the youngest of 5 kids.
My oldest brother was born in 1947, a true baby boomer. Mom and Dad got married right after WWII and had a kid 9 months later.
I was born in 1961, so I call myself a tail-end baby boomer. On account of my being the youngest in my fam. But other kids my age who are the oldest kid in their fam. are not baby boomers, imo.
My parents grew up in the Depression and theirs didn't. imo that makes a big difference.
And my dad was a WWII Navy vet.
