EXCLUSIVE: Gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on set of Rust was a vintage Colt pistol: Weapon was handed to Alec Baldwin by assistant director who told him it was safe

The gun that Alec Baldwin accidently fired and killed Haylna Hutchins was a vintage Colt pistol

Anons remember the show “Supernatural” where the brothers go back in time to get the original Colt pistol to save the world from evil. They had a lot of different versions of the colt on the show and movies.

Why did Alec use a colt? Maybe historical or maybe the colt was one if the many used on the show Supernatural?

Just a silly thought this am.

From the show

The Colt with thirteen original bullets

The 1836 Colt Paterson revolver,[125] usually referred to simply as "the Colt", was made by Samuel Colt, a paranormal hunter. According to legend, anything shot by this gun, using one of its thirteen original bullets, will die, including creatures normally immune to any and all weapons.

John Winchester gives it to the demon Azazel in return for Dean's life being spared after a near-fatal car crash. At the end of the second season, Azazel uses the Colt as the key to open one of the Gates to Hell that Samuel Colt had sealed. The last bullet is then used to kill Azazel, though the gun is later altered to allow the use of more bullets. Towards the end of the third season, Lilith's right-hand demon, Crowley, acquires the gun and hides it. It is then featured in two time-travel episodes – Dean using a past version of it when he is sent back to 1973, and his future self discovering it when Dean is sent five years into the future – before Crowley returns it to the Winchesters so they can kill Lucifer. However, after Dean shoots Lucifer in the head at point-blank range, an unharmed Lucifer boasts there are five things in creation which the gun cannot kill, and he is one of them. The Colt is subsequently lost and absent for several years until Mary Winchester retrieves it back from a Prince of Hell, Ramiel.

It is later revealed due to a causal loop, the Colt went in the possession of Daniel Elkins, the owner of the gun at the beginning of the series, due to the actions of the Winchesters. When the Winchesters travel to 1861, they meet Samuel Colt, from whom Sam gets the Colt, and Dean uses it to kill a phoenix, as they need its ashes. Dean drops the Colt just before being transported back to the present day, where it is presumably retrieved by the saloon owner Elkins, the ancestor of Daniel Elkins.

The gun used in the series is actually a replica Paterson modified to fire metallic cartridges.[125] The gun was described as being built in 1835, before Colt made firearms, and fires metallic cartridges which were never made to fire in a Colt revolver until 10 years after Samuel Colt's death. On the barrel of the gun is inscribed the Latin phrase non-timebo mala, meaning "I will fear no evil".[126] On the grip is a carving of a pentagram, with much of the finish removed to give it an aged appearance.[125] The prop department also has a rubber version of the Colt to be used in fight scenes for pistol-whipping.[123]

The theory that Alec is a good guy is silly to me, its very possible hr was a good guy olin one of his earliest movies, and the cult got to him shortly after this movie. He enjoyed tye fame of Red October and wanted more, but he had to join the cult and kill in order to be as famous as he wanted. After that film, his parts got were darker. Hunt for Red October was only his fifth film, it was his turning point as a star. They would have definitely gotten to him after that.

In his early career he then has played both leading and supporting roles in a variety of films such as Tim Burton's Beetlejuice (1988), Mike Nichols' Working Girl (1988), Jonathan Demme's Married to the Mob (1988), and Oliver Stone's Talk Radio (1988). He gained attention for his iconic performances in Glengarry Glen Ross (1992), and as Jack Ryan in The Hunt for Red October (1990). Since then he has worked with such notable directors such as Woody Allen in Alice (1990), To Rome with Love (2012), and Blue Jasmine (2013), Spike Lee in BlacKkKlansman (2018), and Martin Scorsese in The Aviator (2004) and The Departed (2006). His performance in the 2003 drama The Cooler garnered him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

From 2006 to 2013, Baldwin starred as Jack Donaghy on the critically acclaimed NBC sitcom 30 Rock starring alongside Tina Fey. He won many accolades for his performance winning two Primetime Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and seven Screen Actors Guild Awards for his work on the show, making him the male performer with the most SAG Awards.

Baldwin recently co-starred alongside Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and Mission: Impossible – Fallout, respectively the fifth and sixth installments of the Mission: Impossible series. He is also a columnist for The Huffington Post. Since 2016, he has been the host of Match Game. He has received worldwide attention and acclaim for his portrayal of Donald Trump on the long-running sketch series Saturday Night Live, both during the 2016 U.S. presidential election and following the inauguration, a role for which he won a Primetime Emmy in 2017.

Easy & Difficult Actors To Work With According To Their Co-Stars

Published on August 13, 2019. Updated November 13, 2019

Telisa Carter

Over the years, it has become clear that some stars in Hollywood are the most highly sought after, but being one of the top stars doesn’t always translate to being one of the most popular to work with. Bad behavior on-set has caused major feuds between costars and between stars and their directors, and has even gotten some stars fired from big roles. When the behavior happens enough times it isn’t surprising that word starts to get around, and a bad reputation begins to define them. On the flip side, there are always stars that costars can’t stop gushing about because of their work ethic and how easy it is to work with them. Here are some of the easiest and most difficult actors to work with according to their co-stars:

  1. Difficult: Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin doesn’t have the best reputation when it comes to those who have worked with him on various projects.Baldwin has become known as a “nightmare” to work with going back several years, but many of the stories came from his time on NBC’s 30 Rock. There were many reports that Baldwin was constantly yelling at the cast and crew, often held up production because he was late and complained quite often for things as ridiculous as the air being “too dry.” Cheyenne Jackson who had worked with Baldwin on 30 Rock said, “What I learned from him was really good comedic timing and don’t get in his light.” Of course, his poor reputation on-set is equally matched by the numerous stories of Baldwin losing his temper, throwing tantrums and being blatantly rude in public.
