Why keep him in line? Is he directly involved in the Sussman case? What is it that he was doing that constituted the "assassination" of his wife, who was born in the Soviet Union and grew up in a military base in the Arctic?

It just seems to me that there are other things involved in this case that have nothing to do with "Clinton ordered a hit job" on a cinematographer and director in Hollywood.

I would be more apt to blame the shutdowns during the pandemic, and our clear political divides in this country; as the most careful and safety oriented people to handle firearms are more than likely conservative.

The movie set was having problems with the union and safety wasn't being done properly. Someone will be held to account for this, and Alec Baldwin may have some culpability to answer for as he was the one pointing the gun.

I am certain that the director and the cinematographer were working to get a great closeup of Alec pointing a gun and firing it. The Director and Cinematographer work very very close together as the director needs to see what the camera person is seeing so as they can come to a decision on whether or not the scene was done to their specifications and expectations.

Cinematographer and director disallowed for their own safety by being within said close proximity
Alec failed by pointing the weapon directly at the cinematographer, of which the director was more than likely cheek-to-cheek with as both were watching how the scene would play out
The crew failed to check the round and was in disarray over prior safety and work conditions

Many factors played into this tragedy, and just to jump to some unproven conspiracy theory to explain how a person got killed and another injured is just ridiculous.

Alec Baldwin’s Negligent Discharge – Actor May Face Involuntary Manslaughter Charges

Time to clean up the messy reporting on Alec Baldwin’s negligent shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and director Joel Souza. We still do not know what firearm was used, but the film was being shot on a movie set used principally for 19th Century westerns–Blazing Saddles and Jimmy Stewarts’ The Man From Laramie. So it is highly likely that Baldwin was shooting a revolver and not a semi-automatic pistol (e.g., Glock, Sig Sauer, Berretta).

Semi-automatic pistols are a 20th Century invention and became a staple of military equipment after World War II. There are two types of revolvers–Single Action and Double Action. Single Action means that when you pull the trigger the hammer is released and the gun fires. This was in widespread use in the West during the cowboy era. The cylinder that holds the ammunition is not easily removed and you must open a loading gate to insert only one round at a time into the revolver. Double Action is what most people associate with a revolver. That means when you pull the trigger it cocks the hammer and then, as you continue to apply pressure to the trigger, releases the hammer and fires the pistol.

If a revolver was used by Baldwin then a negligent discharge is not an “accident”. It is negligence. Whoever loaded the revolver handled each round. If the person loading the gun was paying attention, it is impossible to “accidentally” load a live round.

A round of modern ammunition has four components:

-A primer, which starts the ignition process

-The casing, usually brass, which remains in the revolver as an empty shell casing after being fired.

-Gunpowder, which burns very quickly and generates a large amount of expanding gas. This, in turn, makes a lot of noise and light and pushes the fourth component out of the barrel

-The bullet

Blank ammunition does not have a bullet. Therefore, if you are loading blanks you will not see a bullet poking out of the end of the shell casing. Blanks are not harmless. A blank round will propel a plug and gunpowder when fired. If you fire a blank from a pistol pressed against a person’s head the force of the explosion is enough to kill a man.

Difficult: Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin doesn’t have the best reputation when it comes to those who have worked with him on various projects.Baldwin has become known as a “nightmare” to work with going back several years, but many of the stories came from his time on NBC’s 30 Rock.
