In Europe the left's accepted color is red and the conservatives are always blue.

Red is the color of communism and has been since it's serious emergence in the early 1900's - Soviet, N. Korean, Vietnamese and Chinese flags, 'the Internationale' "Keep the red flag flying", Red Star, etc.

 

In the 1990's as the use of TV graphics and charting increased, the MSM in the US started pushing red state blue state narratives where there had really been no fixed color associations before. They somehow reversed those traditional color associations so that conservationism was associated with Red.

 

Why?
