Private call between Gladys and Daryl played

The ICAC has heard a 2017 phone call between the pair where Mr Maguire talks about the future of Wagga Wagga and why it deserves investment.

On the call, Ms Berejiklian declared Wagga Wagga, the seat Mr Maguire held, would be "just like Sydney".

DM: Wagga is going to be the best electorate in the world …. keep listening to me and it will be the blazing star of the southern universe.

GB: Wagga's just going to be like Sydney

DM: Correct, that's why we need a stadium, a conservatorium, all the things Sydney has got. People should listen to me … it needs the money put in.

DM: They are talking about putting a stadium in Dubbo, f**k them, Wagga's where it’s going to happen

DM: Those other dumb asses just look after themselves instead of looking after their electorate.

DM: Now I'm concentrating on my money projects.

GB: Good that helps me too … the more you do that the more easily we will win the seat.

DM: But gee it’s hard with … roadblocks in the way

GB: Yeah but you are still getting everything… we ticked off your conservatorium the other day so that’s a done deal

DM: Yeah but that’s only the building and $10 million, not the rest of it.

GB: Oh my god heaven help us, seriously.

Isaiah 61:1-3

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,

Because the Lord has anointed me

To bring good news to the afflicted;

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to captives

And freedom to prisoners;

To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord

And the day of vengeance of our God;

To comfort all who mourn,

To grant those who mourn in Zion,

Giving them a garland instead of ashes,

The oil of gladness instead of mourning,

The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting.

So they will be called oaks of righteousness,

The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
