I make one similar to this:

easy barbecue sauce

1 cup ketchup

1/4 cup molasses (or brown sugar, or honey)

1/4 cup cider vinegar

1 tbsp worcestershire sauce (optional)

1 tbsp soy sauce (optional)

1 tbsp Franks Red Hot (optional)

Put all ingredients in a bowl.

Whisk to combine.

It’s nice, and you can spice it up as you like :)

Indeed! Once you collect the basic bases, it’s easy to make condiments and dressings. There is a difference in taste, yes, and it’s much better. I don’t eat sugar so it’s important to me to make condiments to my liking (I don’t eat the bbq.. that’s for spouse),

:) most tomatoes in commercial ketchup are from China, though companies don’t disclose it. I had a glut of tomatoes this season and jumped in. I’m happy with the results, and no sugar (aside from the natural tomato).
