Sara Clark Pierson, president of the Grand Ledge school board, said in local and national interviews (WILX-TV and National Public Radio) that the school board experienced a β€œmini-January 6 insurrection” during a recent public meeting when parents rushed the stage with their fists up.

But fellow school board member Ben Cwayna says the incident never happened and the parents do not deserve to be labeled as violent.

Clark Pierson originally made her claim in a WILX-TV interview, and repeated it in an interview with NPR.

Cwayna wrote a lengthy statement correcting the record after it was not addressed at the latest school board meeting. Pierson was apparently fine with covering up her dishonesty. We’ll have to wait to find out exactly what her excuse is, but you can bet it’ll be a word salad and a lot of hedging. I wouldn’t expect any corrections from NPR either.

What this shows is just how unsubstantiated that NSBA letter was. The two most β€œsevere” acts did not happen. Scott Smith was not violent that day in June. He flinched when an officer tried to forcibly remove him after the school board wouldn’t let him speak. That led to him being thrown to the floor and beaten for his trouble. And in this latest example, it appears the accusation didn’t happen at all, in any context.

Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts, a Republican, has signed an executive order barring state agencies from enforcing President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates on state employees.

β€œPresident Biden’s coronavirus vaccine mandate is a stunning violation of personal freedom and abuse of the federal government’s power,” Ricketts said in an Oct. 29 statement.

While Ricketts encouraged Nebraskans to get the COVID-19 vaccine, he insisted it’s a personal health decision and β€œnot one that should be coerced.”

β€œWe’ve already made the decision that state teammates at the State of Nebraska won’t be forced to take the vaccine. This order takes the next step and bars cabinet state agencies from complying with coronavirus vaccine mandates from the federal government or other parties,” Ricketts added.

Nebraska is also involved in a lawsuit, filed in a federal district court in Missouri with nine other states, against the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate.

The committee issued three sweeping records requests from several federal agencies and former White House officials between August and October.

 

Of the 1,600 pages requested, the former president asserted executive privilege over 750 pages. President Biden's White House said it would not hold up the privilege claims.

 

On October 18, Donald Trump filed a lawsuit against the House committee and NARA to block the subpoenas.

 

The latest court filing shows that among the documents held in the National Archive, the former president wants to keep privileged are records of his daily presidential diaries, activity logs, and call logs relating to January 6.

 

He has also asserted executive privilege over files of various former White House officials, including files and handwritten notes of Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and files of former advisor Stephen Miller.

 

Trump also tried to block the committee from receiving over 629 pages from the binders of former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.

 

McEnany's binders mostly contained proposed talking points for briefings, along with some documents and statements relating to allegations of election fraud.

 

Trump is also trying to withhold a draft text of his speech for the Save America March on January 6 and a draft proclamation to honor deceased Capitol Police officers Brian Sicknick and Howard Liebengood.

 

While executive privilege can apply to certain presidential communications, President Biden has said that in this case, it is outweighed by public interest and Congress's need for information about the Capitol riot.

 

On Thursday night, a bipartisan group of 66 former members of Congress, including 33 Republicans, filed a legal brief urging the courts to dismiss Trump's lawsuit and investigate his role in the riot.

 

Former Florida Rep. Carlos Curbelo, one of the Republicans who signed the brief, told MSNBC on Friday, "the reason Donald Trump is claiming executive privilege is because he doesn't want people to know the truth because whatever is in those documents is surely embarrassing and probably indicting."

 

Curbelo, a political analyst with MSNBC, added that Trump was reluctant to hand over the documents because "he probably thinks it will make it harder for him to run in 2024."

 

On Friday, the January 6 committee also filed a legal brief opposing Trump's attempts to prevent them from receiving the files.

 

They wrote that his lawsuit was "extremely unlikely to win on the merits" because the former president's claims of executive privilege are "unprecedented and deeply flawed."

America: Kevin Phillips is a former Republican strategist with the Nixon administration who gained much notice for a 1969 book, The Emerging Republican Majority, which predicted long-term Republican possession of the White House.

 

This was something Phillips clearly approved of. However, as the Republican Party moved to the right during the 1980s and 1990s, he grew disillusioned. His own personal journey took him in the opposite direction. When I first saw him on TV talk shows during the presidency of George Herbert Walker Bush, he was still being described as a conservative, but was expressing views that were often critical of the administration.

 

Today there is no ambiguity. He has come full circle. Each of the 10 books he has written is more critical of the Republicans than the last, and especially of the Bush family, whom he admits to disliking. Their cosy image of Maine summer cottages, grey-haired national grandmother and cowboy boots has emphasised comforting family values, he writes. It has also distracted from the fact that the Bush family has used all its resources to create a political dynasty "to further its family and ideological agenda which would have horrified America's founding fathers".

 

This book is the first really detailed study of the way the Bush family gained its power and influence. A lot of it is old-style muck-raking and some of the comparisons with other dynasties are a bit of a stretch, but he has woven a fascinating, oil-stained tapestry of the machinations of four generations of Walker Bushes.

 

The alliance began when two business entrepreneurs, George Herbert Walker, a well-connected St Louis financier who made his money in war contracts, and Samuel P. Bush, who ran an Ohio arms company called Buckeye Steel Castings, were joined by marriage early in the 20th century. Walker helped steer son-in-lawPrescott Bushto the top of Brown Brothers Harriman, which in mid-century was a bastion of Yale Skull and Bones men and was wired to the intelligence community. Crony capitalism and murky dealings with the military-industrial complex became a family staple, writes Phillips, and grudge-bearing a family trait (not least of the national granny). The family focused on finance, intelligence, oil and national security and to date has not produced a single doctor, judge, teacher or scholar of note.

The Walker Bushes moved from New England to Midland, Texas, and transformed themselves from silver-spooned Yankees to born-again Texans, a route that mirrored the migration of population and power in the US. In Midland, an exclusive outpost of New York capitalists, they became aligned with the state's stereotype, that is, they thrived on tax shelters, business connections and government influence. They also became preoccupied with US Middle Eastern oil interests.

Abortions dropped by about 50 percent in Texas in September after a new law prohibiting most abortions went into effect, according to a new study.

 

The drop was ascertained by the Texas Policy Evaluation Project. The group compared the number of abortions performed at Texas clinics this September (2,164) to the amount in September 2020 (4,313).

 

Researchers were able to gather statistics on abortions performed at 19 of the 24 Texas abortion facilities. Those facilities perform approximately 93 percent of all abortions in the state.

 

The law, which went into effect on Sept. 1, bars physicians from performing an abortion without first testing for a fetal heartbeat. If the heartbeat is detected, an abortion can only be done if the doctor determines a medical emergency exists.

 

This has upset liberals.

 

Dr. Allison Gilbert, a physician and medical director at the Southwestern Women’s Surgery Center in Dallas called the events β€œdevastating.”

Michigan Police Are Hunting Down Elections Official Who Refused Corrupt, Soros-Backed Secretary of State’s Order to Destroy 2020 Election Evidence

 

The world is upside down. Michigan’s corrupt Secretary of State, Jocelyn Benson, walks free, after certifying a corrupt and fraudulent election, while an elections worker who opposed Benson’s efforts to delete 2020 Election evidence is sought after by the police.

 

A far-left report coming out of Michigan paints an election worker in the state as a wild QAnon conspirator who has stolen election material from the state.

 

Michigan State Police are investigating the disappearance of voting equipment from a rural township after a clerk who promoted conspiracy theories was stripped of her duties.

 

Adams Township Clerk Stephanie Scott was barred from administering the upcoming Nov. 2 election after she refused to allow legally-required maintenance and accuracy testing on voting machines. Hillsdale County Clerk Marney Kast, who was appointed to run the election, suspects Scott confiscated a tablet containing sensitive election information.

 

β€œAt this point in time I have no idea where it’s at,” Kast said. β€œI assume it’s with (Scott).”

 

Kast said Scott did not turn over a tablet described as the β€œbrains” of the machine as requested. Kast said Scott responded to the request by saying she is β€œconsulting her attorney.” County election officials notified state officials when the tablet went missing, which sparked an MSP investigation.

 

We reported previously that the β€œlegally required maintenance” noted by the far-left outfit was an anomaly – something not regularly done. Also, by changing batteries in the voting machines in Michigan, the state erased 2020 Election data from these machines.

 

So the person who is standing up for the law by not erasing 2020 election data from the voting machine in her local community is on the run from the police, but the corrupt Secretary of State who initiated actions to illegally destroy 2020 Election evidence walks free.

 

The β€˜Republicans’ in the Michigan legislature do nothing to address the many crimes involved in the 2020 Election in their state. These crimes included a white van secretly dropping off tens of thousands of ballots in the middle of the night in Detroit, voting machine β€˜glitches’, stolen military votes, radical outsiders allowed in the counting rooms to intimidate Republican observers, hundreds of thousands of ballots dropped for Biden in the middle of the night, and hundreds of affidavits of wrongdoing as listed by Rudy Giuliani in front of the legislature. None of this was investigated by the DOJ.

 

And, after all this, the β€˜Republican’ legislature writes a report that nothing was wrong with the 2020 Election as if it was written by George Soros himself.

Michigan is a mess. The people there will never be free until their elections are accurate and fair, something their politicians don’t understand and apparently don’t want.

The keys to unlock the golden gate of herd immunity towards Sars-CoV-2

 

Stop mass vaccination (including boosters) as it puts more gas on the detrimental evolutionary dynamics of the virus (see an increase in infection rates in countries/ regions with high vaccine coverage rates)

 

Under no circumstances should young and healthy people be vaccinated as it will only erode their protective innate immunity towards Coronaviruses (CoV) and other respiratory viruses. Their innate immunity normally/ naturally largely protects them and provides a kind of herd immunity in that it dilutes infectious CoV pressure at the level of the population, whereas mass vaccination turns them into shedders of more infectious variants. Children/ youngsters who get the disease mostly develop mild to moderate disease and as a result continue to contribute to herd immunity by developing broad and long-lived immunity. If you are vaccinated and get the disease, you may develop life-long immunity too but why would you take the risk of getting vaccinated, especially when you’re young and healthy? Firstly, there is the risk of potential side effects; secondarily, there is the ever-increasing risk that your vaccinal antibodies will no longer be functional while still binding to the virus, thereby increasing the likelihood of ADE or even severe disease. So, not all of the vaccinees will finally get to broad, long-lived protection as this would require them to not develop serious side effects and to contract mild or moderate disease ( which is a very β€˜thin’ line!)

 

Discrimination between vaccinated and unvaccinated people is anything but scientifically justifiable. It is pure non-sense, already from a scientific viewpoint. The question is not about β€˜which individuals do I need to avoid?’ but about β€˜how to protect myself against the ever-increasing infectious pressure in the population?’ (see my post on β€˜Repetitio est mater studiorum’)

 

Taken together all these arguments, vaccination mandates are the worst and most irrational initiative ever, from both an individual and public health viewpoint

 

Immediate steps to be taken for mitigating the pandemic crisis:

 

Stop mass vaccination (to stop the erosion of strong innate immunity in young and healthy people and hence, erosion of herd immunity!)

 

As innate immune defense mechanisms protect the vast majority of the population, especially young and all healthy people should do whatever they can to get their innate immunity boosted instead of getting the shot! (e.g., exercise; healthy lifestyle and food [manage your weight!], etc.).

 

Bring down the high infectious pressure (look how the infection rate baseline in countries with aggressive mass vaccination programs is now much higher than back one year or even 6 months ago) via antiviral chemoprophylaxis and prevention of overcrowding.

 

Once the infectious pressure has come down, younger age groups can again feel safe and get back to a normal life(*) (this will help to further dilute viral infectious pressure!). Once the infection rate has come down, these younger age groups should no longer be afraid of contracting the disease as i) it would be mild to moderate in over 99.99% of the cases (i.e., similar to the situation at the beginning of the pandemic) and ii) provide them with broad and long-lived immunity, thereby compensating the breakthrough in their innate immunity and, hence, contributing to herd immunity!). Any influx of young and healthy unvaccinated people will dilute viral infection rates and contribute to building herd immunity.

 

But even more importantly, and not just applicable to the younger but also to the older age groups: Covid-19 can be successfully treated if early multidrug treatment is used at an early stage of the disease, i.e., at the appearance of the first signs and symptoms. This not only prevents people from contracting severe disease but also provides them with broad and long-lived immunity in a way that is much safer, reliable, and durable than getting the vaccine and also contributes to building herd immunity.

Democrats in Virginia are freaking out because more than 300,000 absentee ballots were not mailed out by the US Post Office timely before the governor’s election this week. The Washington Times reported on Monday, that the Democrats are suing the USPS.

 

The Democratic Party of Virginia has filed a lawsuit alleging that local branches of the U.S. Postal Service failed to process and deliver election-related material ahead of the gubernatorial election between Democrat Terry McAuliffe and Republican Glenn Youngkin.

 

The lawsuit, filed Friday, contends that more than 300,000 Virginians are likely to attempt to cast their ballots by mail this cycle, but USPS did not deliver the requested ballots promptly and therefore is threatening to disenfranchise thousands of Virginia voters.

 

β€œThousands of absentee ballots currently sit at postal facilities throughout the Commonwealth, unprocessed for weeks on end,” the lawsuit states.

Two soldiers were injured after Israel hit targets near the Syrian capital, Damascus, Syria's SANA news agency has reported. The agency added that several missiles were destroyed in mid-air.

 

Israel launched several missiles from the northern side of the West Bank at a number of targets in the Damascus countryside shortly after 11am local time on Saturday, SANA wrote, citing a military source.

 

The source said the country’s ground defense forces β€œrepelled” the attack by destroying several missiles in mid-air, adding that two Syrian soldiers were wounded. Israel has not commented on the matter.

 

Damascus has accused Israel of attacking its territory in the past. Tel Aviv claims Iran is using Syrian soil to stage attacks against its cities and military. Israel has previously admitted to striking over 200 of what it said were Iranian-linked targets in Syria between 2017 and 2018.

 

Last year, the Israel Defense Forces said it had launched airstrikes on Syrian military targets after allegedly finding explosive devices planted on the Israeli-occupied part of Syria’s Golan Heights.

The publication found that 81 percent of students who faked minority status did so to improve their chances of getting accepted. Fifty percent of students who lied said they did it to get minority-focused financial aid.

Most students, 48 percent, claimed to be Native American on their application. Thirteen percent falsely marked that they were Latino, while 10 percent falsely claimed to be Black. Nine percent of those surveyed lied that they were Asian or Pacific Islander.

 

For the most part, Intelligent found, these white students tended to get away with their lies. About 3 in 4, or 77 percent, of white applicants who faked minority status on their applications were accepted to those colleges.

 

β€œWhile other factors may have played a role in their acceptance, the majority of applicants who lied and were accepted (85%) believe that falsifying their racial minority status helped them secure admission to college,” Intelligent wrote in their report.

 

Among those willing to fake their minority status, 48 percent of white male applicants lied about their race, while 16 percent of white female applicants did so.

 

"Twice as many men as women claimed Native American heritage on their applications (54 percent compared to 24 percent). Meanwhile, one in four women (24%) claimed to be Latino. Women are also more than twice as likely as men to pretend to be Black (18% compared to 8%)" Intelligent wrote.

 

The publication surveyed 1,250 white Americans who had previously applied to college. The survey was conducted on July 13.

Beijing dismisses β€˜unscientific’ report on Covid-19 origins by US intelligence community

 

The US is using β€œintelligence apparatus instead of scientists” to determine the origins of Covid-19, undermining genuine research, Beijing said in response to the declassification of an ODNI report.

 

On Friday, the Office of the US Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) released its assessment of how the SARS-CoV-2 virus could have first infected humans. It said the origins of Covid-19 may never be established fully, and that US intelligence found both natural transmission from animals to humans, as well as a lab leak incident, plausible.

 

Responding to the release, the Chinese Embassy in Washington once again questioned the US government’s use of β€œintelligence apparatus instead of scientists” in Covid-19 research.

 

β€œNo matter how many times it is updated, the so-called β€˜assessment on Covid-19 origins’ issued by the US intelligence community is not scientific at all,” embassy spokesman Liu Pengyu said. β€œIt will only undermine science-based origins study and hinder the global effort of finding the source of the virus.”

 

The report issued on Friday updates a 90-day review that was released in August, ordered by President Joe Biden. It says the global scientific community β€œlacks clinical samples or a complete understanding of epidemiological data from the earliest Covid-19 cases,” and accused China of hindering investigations into the origins of the disease, while blaming other countries, including the US.

 

The embassy countered by saying that Washington β€œhas been refusing to respond to the international community’s reasonable doubts on the Fort Detrick biolab and the over 200 overseas bases for biological experiments” conducted there.

 

β€œWe have been supporting science-based efforts on origins tracing, and will continue to stay actively engaged. That said, we firmly oppose attempts to politicize this issue,” the statement said.

 

The origins of Covid-19 became a highly political issue under the previous administration of Donald Trump, which accused Beijing of covering up the early stages of the pandemic and claimed that it may have started with a leak at a government bioresearch facility. Beijing said the US was simply trying to shift the blame for its disastrous response to Covid-19.

 

The ODNI assessment describes the theory that researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology β€œmay have unwittingly exposed themselves to the virus without sequencing it during experiments or sampling activities, possibly resulting in asymptomatic or mild infection.” However, the US has so far found no evidence that the lab had worked with the SARS-CoV-2 virus or a close progenitor virus.

The sun belched up a large flare of charged particles on Oct. 28, and now that electric wind is barreling toward Earth as a strong geomagnetic storm.

 

The storm β€” which ranks as a category G3 on the Space Weather Prediction Center's (SWPC) 5-tier scale β€” is expected to reach Earth late on Saturday (Oct. 30), with effects continuing into Halloween (Oct. 31), according to a SWPC statement.

 

"Impacts to our technology from a G3 storm are generally nominal. However, a G3 storm has the potential to drive the aurora further away from its normal polar residence," the SWPC wrote. "The aurora might be seen over the far Northeast, to the upper Midwest and over the state of Washington."

 

Large solar flares, or coronal mass ejections (CMEs), are a routine type of space weather that occur when enormous blobs of plasma (electrically charged gases that make up all the stars in the universe) escape the sun's atmosphere and ooze through space at hundreds to thousands of miles a second. (The current G3 storm is traveling at about 600 miles, or 970 kilometers, per second, according to SWPC.)

 

It typically takes a CME about 15 to 18 hours to reach Earth, where the blob slams into our planet's magnetic shield, compressing the shield slightly. Charged solar particles then shoot down the magnetic field lines, heading toward the North and South Poles and bumping into atmospheric molecules along the way. The agitated molecules release energy as colorful light, creating auroras.

 

CMEs can also disrupt power systems and communications technology, depending on a given storm's strength. For G3 storms, "intermittent satellite navigation and low-frequency radio navigation problems may occur," according to SWPC.

Rep. Murphy: FDA Adviser’s Remark on COVID-19 Jab for Kids β€˜The Most Dangerous Statement I’ve Ever Heard in Medicine’

 

A remark made by a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) adviser is β€œthe most dangerous statement I’ve ever heard in medicine,” the only active practicing physician in Congress said in a new interview.

 

Dr. Eric Rubin, editor-in-chief of the New England Journal of Medicine, and an associate physician specializing in infectious disease at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, sits on the administration’s vaccine advisory panel.

 

Before the panel voted this week to advise the FDA to authorize Pfizer’s COVID-19 jab for kids 5 to 11, Rubin said, in part: β€œWe’re never going to learn about how safe this vaccine is unless we start giving it. That’s just the way it goes. That’s how we found out about rare complications of other vaccines, like the rotavirus vaccine.”

 

β€œThat is literally the most dangerous statement I’ve ever heard in medicine,” Rep. Greg Murphy (R-N.C.), a doctor, said on NTD’s β€œCapitol Report.”

 

β€œHow’s that going to sit with the average mom, the average parent that cares about their child? That they want their child experimented on?” he added.

 

Rubin’s remarks were clipped by various people and widely circulated on social media, with some users saying it showed that the vaccine should not be given to children.

 

Asked about the criticism, Rubin told The Epoch Times in an email: β€œThe clinical trial of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in children showed no adverse events. All data to date indicate that it is safe. It will prevent the hospitalization of children with severe disease, as it does with adults. The vaccine works, and saves lives.”

 

The claim the trial showed no adverse events is false, as the FDA did discover 13 cases of lymph node swelling. However, none of the trial participants experienced heart inflammation (myocarditis or pericarditis)β€”a serious side effect that has been seen at higher than expected rates among youth, particularly males.

 

The panel pondered the potential benefits and risks of giving young children the vaccine but ultimately decided the benefits outweighed the risks. The FDA accepted the recommendation on Friday.

 

Rubin said after the vote that surveillance systems would be crucial in learning β€œhow safe” the Pfizer jab is for children.

 

β€œWe decided to go for it with a lot of heavy conscience. But I’m hoping that this is the start of learning more about it,” he said.

 

Murphy and Rubin did agree on one point. COVID-19 vaccines should not be mandated at this point due to the lack of safety data. Several other FDA advisers also said they are opposed to mandating the vaccine for young children at this time.

 

Murphy, speaking to NTD, noted a key difference between COVID-19 and diseases that children routinely receive vaccines for early in their life.

 

β€œThe vaccines that we have for children are measles, mumps, rubella, those things that we give kids, we have to have them before they go to school. And I agree with that, that’s fine. But the problem is, those are childhood diseases. COVID is not a childhood disease. It can affect children, but its lethality rate is infinitesimal compared to what it is in adults,” said Murphy, who practices at the Vidant Medical Center, a 1,000-bed level 1 trauma center,

 

β€œI just don’t understand why it’s being pushed on kids so much,” he added, predicting a federal mandate for kids soon just to go to school. β€œWe don’t mandate that kids get the flu vaccine to go to school. We don’t mandate that kids have the HPV vaccine. So I just don’t understand the biology and the virology for this.”

The law, which went into effect on Sept. 1, bars physicians from performing an abortion without first testing for a fetal heartbeat. If the heartbeat is detected, an abortion can only be done if the doctor determines a medical emergency exists.

 

This has upset liberals.

Scott O. Konopasek, the radical partisan director of elections for the most populated county in Virginia, recently told mainstream media outlets that the Virginia governor’s race may not be decided on election day.

 

As was the general norm prior to the COVID-19 pandemic which ushered in drastic changes to various state election laws nationwide ahead of the 2020 Presidential election, most Virginia Election Day ballots and early votes are set to be counted on the day of the election itself; Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Further, a new state law requires election officials to begin counting mail-in votes at least one week prior to Election Day.

 

However, due to a situation that for some reason allows for mail-in ballots to be counted so long as they are postmarked by the end of Election Day and are received by noon November 5, three whole days after the election, mainstream media reports and partisan election officials in Fairfax County are priming Virginia voters for a post-Election Day debacle in which the winner of the race may be unknowable until the following Friday.

 

Yesterday, Fox News reported that Konopasek said β€œit’s a possibility that we will we have to wait until Friday” to know the winner of the gubernatorial election, as Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin continues to surge in the polls amid a series of scandals plaguing Democrat Terry McAuliffe’s campaign.

 

Following the widely controversial 2020 Presidential Election last year, National File reported in May that over 300,000 votes for Joe Biden were counted in a series of five suspicious ballot drops in the dead of night after Election Day in Virginia, with one of those dumps accounting for a staggering 73% of all Biden votes in Fairfax County.

 

As a result of the 308,000-vote ballot dump, Biden appeared to have defeated President Donald Trump by a margin of 80% in Fairfax County, vastly and suspiciously outperforming failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.

 

The supporting data was provided by Gateway Pundit who uncovered a questionable pattern they referred to as the β€œDrop and Roll,” which occurred in other states during the 2020 Election.

G20 Leaders Announce Endorsement Of Global Minimum Tax On Day One Of Summit

 

World leaders attending the G20 summit’s first session in Rome Saturday announced their endorsement of a global minimum tax, a senior administration official said.

 

β€œMost of the leaders were in person, with others there virtually,” the official said. β€œThe leaders all came out in support of a global minimum tax. The president emphasized the importance of this historic deal during his intervention. The president also mentioned that while we don’t see eye to eye on every issue, we can tackle shared interests.”

 

The global minimum tax would prevent corporations from operating overseas to avoid taxes. It’s a position that President Joe Biden has pushed for since taking office. By establishing a 15% global minimum tax rate, the U.S. would garner at least $60 billion more in revenue per year in the U.S. alone, an official told reporters.

 

β€œThe deal works because it removes the incentives for the offshoring of American jobs. It’s going to help small businesses compete on a level playing field, and it’s going to give us more resources to invest in our people at home,” an official explained. β€œIt’s a game changer for American workers, taxpayers, and businesses, and in our judgment, this is more than just a tax deal – it’s a reshaping of the rules of the global economy.”

 

Now that all leaders have endorsed the deal, it will become official after the release of a communiquΓ© Sunday, according to CNN. The G20 leaders committed to implementing the deal by a specific 2023 date, and each country involved β€œwill go through its own process to ratify both pillars of the deal,” a senior administration official said.

 

G20 finance ministers agreed to a global minimum tax earlier in 2021, but day one of the G20 session Saturday marked the leaders announcing their endorsement, The Hill noted. The move was described by an official as β€œa testament to American diplomacy and leadership.”

Carlson explained how media outlets, including CNN, were still obsessed with former President Donald Trump even though he is nine months out of office, and their TV ratings were suffering because of it.

So, let’s say you’ve made billions of dollars over the years selling rice crispy treats to a hungry public, dentists may have complained about what you were doing, but for you it was always a great business and you assumed it would go on forever because we always think everything good will go on forever, but it doesn’t.

 

Over time, consumers started to figure out that a marshmallow coated with breakfast cereal, not a very healthy food option. It tastes great at first, eat enough, and it starts to make you feel sick.

 

So they began to buy less of what you were selling. Following this?

 

How would you react to that? Well, if you were smart you’d probably just rebrand, you’d change the color, you’d throw in some vitamin additives, you’d rename the product. You might call it crunchy kale treats or healthy life nutrition bars. You’d have figured out that people don’t want sugary garbage, they want something that’s good for them, so you would sell it to them. That seems like a pretty rational choice.

 

What you probably wouldn’t do if you were selling rice crispy treats to a rapidly shrinking market is convince yourself that you are not in the snack food business, but instead on some kind of mission from God. You would not claim that eating marshmallows is a vital moral imperative. You would not attack your own consumers for preferring something else.

 

You would not denounce them as morons or racists for eating less sugar. You wouldn’t try and ban the Atkins Diet to make keto illegal. That’d be insane, you’d go bankrupt if you did that.
