I’m not talking about any other country but US. In order to itemize expenses to save on taxes they need to be more than the standard deduction or it’s not worth it. If you do itemize you need to have receipts and be sure they are legitimate deductible expenses. Because the irs can audit you any time they want and penalties are stiff. It would be a very rare occurrence for someone who just takes standard deduction to be audited.
