Schools have a lock on the employment sequence. HS to College, because most WC jobs require a college degree. Means shit, IMO, because how many people end up working in what they studied for in college?

Trade schools or apprenticeships have disappeared and, AFAIK, aptitude tests are not allowed by firms who would rather test applicants and use OJT.

Too big a gamble for most families to fuck with the system as they look at their kids future.

The employment model has to be bent back to providing training in the specific areas that individual kids have the aptitude/talent for. Have to look at the military to see what teenagers/young 20's can do with $ millions/billions worth pieces of equipment after being tested for aptitude and given the commensurate training.

CA has their own laws that are fucking up the efficient loading of containers onto special trailers that can take them out of the port.

LA and Long Beach are the main container ports for all of the US. There is/was (not sure if it's still in effect) an agreement with some countries, and China is one, that the USPS will subsidize shipping in CONUS. IOW, all China has to do is get the goods to CA. PEC, I think, is the program. It costs more to ship a package domestically than from China. Has to do with a country's rating. US is class 1 (more expensive) and China is class 3 (surprise, surprise). Not economical, then for China to pay to ship to gulf or Eastern seaboard, because they pay for that.

Long story short, then, is that CA is effecting commerce in other states by it's laws. That should be a commerce clause issue and be dealt with by the feds, IMO. Where's buttplug?

So why's this happening in CA now, and why not before? There should have been a trailer shortage, then, too. Who knows, maybe covid backlog related, but if good guys are behind it, China may be thinking Tariffs were a better alternative all around. FJB.
