They're not "illegal". They're unconstitutionally regulated by the National Firearms Act and require an extensive background check and a $200 tax stamp and/or a class 3 Federal Firearms License to buy and sell.
The NFA needs to go, and ATF needs to be the name of a chain of convenience stores.

I can't listen to him. Never have heard a single speech. Same with Clinton, Kerry, Gore et al. They make my skin crawl, their voices make me feel dirty.
