When people cast away narratives in exchange for the journey for truth, unity ushers in real progression of the human condition. They know this, and will do anything they can to keep the people separated from their collective potential. This is their greatest fear.

One of the facets where memes are so important is furtherance of the ideals needed to keep a Republic functioning. How we define what's socially acceptable or not is going to change/evolve over generations, but apathy over accountability of public servants is the more pressing issue. Hell, we're just trying to get people to hate blatant traitors, for starters. You'd be hard pressed to find a "regular Joe" back then, that would've outright dismissed the sex scandal, but today it's nearly expected. If society is going to continue to slowly embrace the idea of relationship openness, then we need to double-down on the expectations of accountability in other facets of our daily lives, and what we expect of our public servants in transparency. Most importantly, punishment for violations of public trust need to be enacted upon and checks/balances in place to ensure they are enforced.
