The reason for the J6 committee is to get access to the 'Presidential Determinations' made in a time of war which are only accessible by the President who implemented them. They've figured out that didn't work so now they're trying to cancel the declaration of war that Bush II got passed in Congress that is open ended (Clinton was going to use it to suspend the Constitution). If they can cancel that declaration of war they can get access to the Presidential Determinations.
I'm not going to confirm or deny but I will say Trump never says anything that isn't completely true.

This is why the Supreme Court didn't want to hear the mandate case before. They want all the cases gathered, consolidated, decided and sent to them all at once.
