I saw a cool video on Project Looking Glass a while back posted by an anon. It could be fiction but take it for what it is.
It is a project that involves a super-duper computer that is so powerful it can calculate and predict the future because reality and the universe is a symphony of patterns. The Elite used this computer to try and manifest the best possible reality for themselves where they become God-kings of this Universe.
What ended up happening though is that the computer calculated that all timelines will converge at a chokepoint, or bottleneck, where everyone ends up waking up to their enslavement and eventually becoming free souls. It doesn't matter what the Elite come up with, it will not work and they will meet their demise. Nothing can stop what is coming.
The only thing the Elite can do is stall and hope someone makes a mistake. Think about it this way. Two grandmasters are playing a game of chess. One of the players realizes that they will be checkmated in 9 moves. That player also realizes that his opponent knows this as well. The losing grandmaster can either forfeit, or stall and play it out hoping his opponent will make a mistake.
