All the school closings in MI yesterday, I think around 60 or so, have to be due to copy cat threats are because the local pipelines are getting the information out that the school fucked up.

Parents are friends/neighbors with teachers, coaches talk to each other at games, etc. Has to be in the grapevine that Oxford admin fucked up and it's not safe anywhere because the admins in the area are all the same. Cover their own ass and tough shit for your kid.

My experience has been that school admins now are educating themselves through to school administration and can skip the time as a classroom teacher in the trenches. They're migratory, too. Climbing the ladder to larger and larger districts. Don't have to buy into the local community like classroom teachers do, who would be more likely to live in the community long term. Policy back in the day was to pick a teacher who had experience and who most of the other teachers trusted for the principal if they needed one. Coaches were generally good picks. Better when dealing with conflicts. May not like their decision, but at least you knew it was fair.

Any school in the country has these migratory admin types now. Parents don't trust school authorities any more.

I saw this kid's parents were charged with involuntary manslaughter, I think, maybe because of recklessness with firearm safety.

Might be, can't argue with the arrests, but after threats and the report by the classroom teacher, the school should have sent the kid home requiring a psych eval before return. Bigger schools like Oxford should have a psychologist on staff nowadays, too.

MSM will try to push the terrorist parent angle, but the SD will be on the hook as well when this finishes playing out, I think.
