Great, now they're trying to Blind us too.. the gagging and vaxxxing wasn't enough

Eye drops that could potentially replace reading glasses for millions of people were approved by the Food and Drug Administration in October, and hit the market this week.

The drops, called pilocarpine and marketed as Vuity by pharma outfit Allergan, could come to the aid of some 128 million Americans who are nearsighted. According to the company, one drop in each eye can sharpen closeup vision for six to 10 hours, CBS News reports.

The drops work by using the eyeโ€™s existing ability to reduce its pupil size.

โ€œReducing the pupil size expands the depth of field or the depth of focus, and that allows you to focus at different ranges naturally,โ€ George Waring, principal investigator of a clinical trial for the drug involving 750 participants, told CBS.

The drops arenโ€™t the cheapest, but arenโ€™t prohibitively expensive, either, at $80 for a 30-day supply.

It isnโ€™t a miracle drug, however. Reported side effects include headaches and red eyes. The company is also warning not to use the drops while driving at night.

The drops are also mostly effective for middle-aged people. Those above the age of 65 wonโ€™t see as much of an effect, according to CBS.

The value proposition is a matter of convenience โ€” wearing reading glasses can be a pain for millions of people, so ditching them is intriguing.

โ€œItโ€™s definitely a life changer,โ€ trial participant Toni Wright told CBS. โ€œI would not need my readers as much, especially on the computer, where I would always need to have them on.โ€

Covid-19 could eventually be seasonal, scientists say

โ€ฆWhile no one can predict the future, "we're living through an intra-Covid world, and in a post-pandemic Covid world, I think what we would see is an endemic infection, not unlike the seasonal flu," Fayanju said.

Endemic means that a disease has a constant presence in a population โ€“ but it's not overwhelming health systems or affecting an alarmingly large number of people as typically seen in a pandemic.

Some scientists point to human behaviors, such as travel, as fueling the waves.

Some think the waves are more evidence that Covid-19 is on its way to eventually becoming a seasonal endemic disease, with more cases occurring in the cold winter months at times when outdoor temperatures drop and people gather indoors.

Others argue that seasonal waves of Covid-19 could be more complex, since during the pandemic there have been both expected winter surges and less-expected summer surges, too.

"We need more research to disentangle all the factors that may link seasonality to Covid-19 cases," Dr. Hawre Jalal, assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh, told CNN.

But there is one thing many scientists agree on โ€“ coronavirus infections in the future could follow seasonal cycles.

I went into a store in Utah last month. I smiled at a small kid riding by me in a cart, and she stuck out her tongue and coughed at me. I thought maybe it was a coincidence, until she did it again in the next aisle. Creepy little shit

Sometimes lists like 11 countries with the highest rates of child abuse in the World expose the real face of the world that we live in. It is not pretty at all. Sometimes it all just seems connected โ€“ child labor, global terrorism, the rising poor, etc. What hurts the most is the fact that despite making some groundbreaking advances in the use of technology in every sector like food, health, education and more we continue to go downhill when it comes to human values. Our global efforts, unfortunately, have not been enough to feed the poor, help the needy and educate everyone. When we talk about the evils of the society, it becomes impossible to ignore child abuse.

What is most surprising about child abuse is that it is an embarrassing part of the most developed countries as well. Developed! Are we, really? In United States alone more than 20,000 cases of child abuse are reported annually. Itโ€™s an epidemic, which needs global attention.
