A new response to the rapidly mutating virus might be found right at the door to our lungs, says Yale's Akiko Iwasaki, the Waldemar Von Zedtwitz Professor of Immunobiology. In a new study, she and her colleagues found that intranasal vaccination provides broad-based protection against heterologous respiratory viruses in mice, while so-called systemic immunization, which uses an injection to elicit body-wide protection, did not.

 

Their findings are published Dec. 10 in the journal Science Immunology.

 

"The best immune defense happens at the gate, guarding against viruses trying to enter," said Iwasaki, senior author of the study.

 

Mucous membranes contain their own immune defense system that combat air- or foodborne pathogens. When challenged, these barrier tissues produce B cells which in turn secrete immunoglobin A (IgA) antibodies. Unlike vaccines which elicit a system-wide immune response, IgA antibodies work locally on mucosal surfaces found in the nose, stomach, and lungs.

The Commons Project Foundation (known as "TCP") is the massive nonprofit entity responsible for Smart Health's dominance of the vaccine passport market. It says it "builds and operates digital platforms and services for the common good." TCP oversees the Common Trust Network (which operates a global registry of organizations that issue vaccine passports). You will notice on every vaccine passport system's website and in their public relations statements an emphasis on how these intrusive tracking measures are meant "to empower individuals with digital access to their vaccination records," as Paul Meyer, CEO of The Commons Project, put it, to allow people "to safely return to travel, work, school and life while protecting their data privacy."

 

TCP also created and collaborates with VCI, the Vaccination Credential Initiative.

 

Who is behind VCI? The nonprofit calls itself a "voluntary coalition of public and private organizations" committed to "empowering individuals to gain access to their verifiable clinical information," including "a trustworthy and verifiable copy of their vaccination records in digital or paper form using open, interoperable standards." Its steering group is a who's who of for-profit Big Tech and Big Health corporations looking for ways to profit off personal data, including Apple, Microsoft, Cerner, Amazon Web Services, Google, Epic, the Mayo Clinic, Oracle, Salesforce, Evernorth (Cigna's health services business) and something called the Mitre Corporation.

 

What is Mitre? It's a nonprofit, Cold War-era conglomerate headquartered near the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and near the Deep State in McLean, Virginia, which oversees billions of dollars of federally funded research in the military, homeland security, cybersecurity and now, of course, the explosively lucrative health data market. According to Forbes, Mitre raked in $1.8 billion in revenue in 2019 and boasts a $2 billion budget funded by American taxpayers. One of its many government gigs includes a $16.3 million contract with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help build "an enduring national capability to contain Covid-19," plus a $20 million joint partnership with the CDC on disease surveillance technology and services. As Forbes reported, the secretive military-industrial alliance brags ominously in its promotional material:

CNN Staffer Charged With Sexual Abuse Of Young Girls — Worked With Chris Cuomo On New Day

 

John Griffin, a CNN producer, was arrested on federal charges for allegedly abusing underage girls and enticing their mothers to help him do it, according to the DOJ.

 

The DOJ alleges that, in one case, Griffin paid a mother $3000 to fly her and her 9-year-old daughter to see him.

 

Griffin then directed the daughter to engage in sexual activity with him.

 

Another allegation against Griffin states that Griffin requested a mother and her 16-year-old daughter take a mother-daughter trip to his ski house for sexual training.

A CNN employee was charged Friday on three counts that he used a facility of interstate commerce to abuse underage girls.

 

Officials said a grand jury in Vermont indicted 44-year-old Stamford, Connecticut resident John Griffin of attempting to entice the girls to engage in sexual activity. He appeared in New Haven federal court via Zoom, where Judge Robert Spector said he would file an order requesting his transfer to Connecticut.

 

“According to the indictment, from April to July of 2020, Griffin utilized the messaging applications Kik and Google Hangouts to communicate with people purporting to be parents of minor daughters, conveying to them, among other ideas, that a ‘woman is a woman regardless of her age,’ and that women should be sexually subservient and inferior to men,” according to the Department of Justice statement on the case.

Project Veritas Gains a Win in Biden Daughter Diary Case as Judge Addresses FBI Actions

 

Project Veritas gained a win in court on Wednesday as a judge addressed the FBI’s actions in the case.

 

The Daily Caller reported:

 

A federal court ordered Wednesday that a special master be appointed to review materials seized by the FBI during raids against Project Veritas last month.

 

The special master will determine whether evidence seized by the FBI in raids against Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe and two former Project Veritas employees can be used by prosecutors in a case involving the alleged theft of Ashley Biden’s diary. Judge Analisa Torres granted Project Veritas’ request that a special master be appointed, but declined to order the Department of Justice (DOJ) to conduct an investigation to determine whether information about the raid was leaked to The New York Times.

 

The FBI carried out the raids as part of an investigation into whether the diary of Ashley Biden, the now-40-year-old daughter of President Joe Biden, was stolen last year. The diary was handed over by sources to Project Veritas in September 2020, but the organization declined to publish its contents and instead turned it over to law enforcement. Project Veritas denies any involvement in the original procurement of the diary, insisting that it was given to them by a source.

 

This was a win for Project Veritas assuming the FBI hasn’t already reviewed the contents of the phones and other materials taken by the FBI. Also, key to this ‘win’ is the integrity of the reviewer. A Deep State crook would not be forthright or honest.

 

However, assuming all is fair, this is a win.

 

Ultimately it will be interesting to find out any court’s determination as to whether the diary was real. If it is, it may be as explosive as Hunter’s laptop.

Anons, great news this morning. Spouse works for BNSF which is the Burlington Northern railroad. They had a requirement for all employees to be fully vaxxed by January 4th, or have submitted request for exemption by that time. If the employee didn't make the deadline then they would need to have counseling and I don't know if/when they would fire them.

But that's all off now. Spouse received email saying that they are Suspending the Mandate and not processing the exemption applications.

He's been sweating bullets because he doesn't want to leave the job or retire. He loves the job. But he ain't having the vax. Reprieve!!

More lockdown party scandals about to hit Johnson

 

The infamous Christmas party at Downing Street apparently wasn’t the only lockdown-defying soiree hosted by top Conservative Party officials. According to reports, evidence of more ill-advised gatherings is about to come out.

 

Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s ratings have plummeted after footage leaked this week showed Downing Street staffers laughing and joking about a Christmas party held there last December 18, while the rest of the country was under Tier 3 lockdown restrictions. The scandal has already led to the resignation of Johnson’s spokeswoman, and Cabinet Secretary Simon Case has expanded his probe into the party to include two other gatherings: a leaving party at Number 10 on November 27, 2020, and and a party in the Education Department on December 10.

 

However, these events are just the tip of the iceberg, according to Downing Street insiders and media reports.

 

Dominic Cummings, Johnson’s former chief of staff, described the leaving party as a “red herring,” and said Case should instead look into a party at Johnson’s flat on November 13, as well as “other flat parties.”

 

Cumings claimed on Friday that there are yet more parties to be revealed, and that “there's lots of pictures of the parties which will inevitably get out.” The Guardian reported on Friday that in addition to the November 13 party referenced by Cummings, “various little drinks things” took place in Downing Street and at the PM’s residence during the first lockdown of spring 2020, including a “wine and pizza” gathering for Tory advisors after a Covid press conference.

 

Days before the Downing Street party that triggered the current scandal, Conservative Party staff “danced and drank wine late into the night” at a “raucous” party, The Times reported on Thursday. The event took place in the basement of the party’s London headquarters, and staff were allegedly reprimanded for damaging a door in the building. Several of Johnson’s aides were reportedly present.

Spy chiefs who disclose secrets to media should face sanctions, watchdog says

 

Former spymasters who become media “talking heads” need to be under added scrutiny to ensure they don’t reveal state secrets, the UK Parliament’s intelligence watchdog has said. It called for top spies who do so to be punished.

 

In its annual report on Friday, the Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC) expressed “concern” over such disclosures. The MPs specifically referred to former Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) director Robert Hannigan providing “operational details” to a 2019 Channel 4 documentary about efforts to track and kill UK-linked Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) executioner ‘Jihadi John’ (real name Mohammed Emwazi).

 

According to the report, Hannigan, who headed the spy agency between 2014 and 2017, spoke without getting prior approval about how Emwazi used “encryption products” to hide his whereabouts. He also revealed that agencies had identified him by his distinctive “size, his hands and above all his voice.”

 

Noting that “no substantive action” was taken against Hannigan for the “apparent breach of the Official Secrets Act,” the ISC said “further thought and scrutiny” was needed about the obligations of ex-spies, since it appeared they could “breach” their responsibilities with “no sanctions resulting.”

 

It sends entirely the wrong message to those who may be tempted to breach those obligations themselves, and to those who risk their lives to protect them.

 

However, the ISC’s criticism prompted warnings from Ciaran Martin, a former head of GCHQ off-shoot National Cyber Security Centre, about the risk of “pushing debate and public discussion” about intelligence and security matters “back into the shadows.”

 

Martin told Sky News that it was possible to balance “healthy… public debate” about intelligence issues without “compromising” operations, pointing to how the work of former spy community members in academia was seen as a “national asset” in the US.

 

Meanwhile, an unnamed government spokesperson told the outlet that they were confident the Hannigan episode was “handled appropriately at the time” – adding that it was “properly investigated, and that appropriate action was taken, with due respect of relevant legislation.”

Fears New Austrian Law Could Be Used to Imprison Unvaccinated for Up to a Year

 

A member of the populist Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ) has expressed concern that amendments to a law on administrative enforcement could be used to imprison unvaccinated people for as long as a year.

 

Susanne Fürst of the FPÖ fears that an amendment to the Administrative Enforcement Act could be used to enforce the proposed mandatory coronavirus vaccination policy against the unvaccinated.

 

The new amendment would raise fines from €726 (£617/$818) to €2,000 (£1,701/$2,255) and would also increase prison time for refuseniks from just four weeks to up to a year in prison.

 

Those jailed may also be ordered to pay for their own imprisonment under the new amendment, which states: “If detention is carried out by the courts, the associated costs shall be recovered by the courts from the obligated party in accordance with the provisions existing for the recovery of the costs of enforcing judicial penalties.”

 

While the amendment makes no specific mention of the Wuhan virus or the mandatory vaccine policy, Ms Fürst expressed concern that it would be used on those who do not take the vaccine and said such a policy should be ruled out.

 

Constitutional Minister Caroline Edtstadler, meanwhile, stated that there was a political consensus on the issue and that while the government desired to persuade people to take the vaccine, the possibility of punishment must exist to preserve the credibility of the legal system.

 

Despite Ms Fürst’s protest, the motion to amend the Administrative Enforcement Act was passed by all parties except the FPÖ, who voted against it.

 

Since Austria announced it would be ordering citizens to take coronavirus vaccines last month, there have been varying reports on how much violators would be fined or how long they could be imprisoned, with media reporting penalties of up to €7,200 (£6,136/$8,142) were possible.

 

A poll released last week revealed that 55 per cent of Austrians support the vaccine mandate policy, while 40 per cent were opposed.

Former Mexican Cop Sent to U.S. Prison for Child Rape Captured on Video

 

A former Mexican police officer will spend 30 years in prison for having a series of videos and photographs where he sexually assaulted a young girl. Authorities in the U.S. discovered the videos inside a cell phone when the police officer tried to cross into Texas through a port of entry.

 

This week, 38-year-old Jose Alfredo Fernandez-Martinez, went before U.S. District Judge Rolando Olvera in the Southern District of Texas. The judge sentenced the former Mexican police officer to 360 months in prison, ordered him to register as a sex offender, and ordered him to follow a series of restrictions used for child predators. Fernandez pleaded guilty in August to producing child pornography by sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl for more than five months.

 

According to a prepared statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Fernandez served as a police officer in Mexico. It remains unclear which agency he worked for.

 

The case against Fernandez began in January, when he walked across one of the international ports of entry in Brownsville, Texas, a criminal complaint filed by U.S. Homeland Security Investigations revealed. A U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer at the bridge sent Fernandez to a secondary inspection where they went through his Alcatel phone and found a video that showed him sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl. The CBP officers at the bridge called agents from ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) who investigated the case. Federal authorities found five videos that Fernandez recorded with the victim. They also found 141 videos and 82 pictures of child pornography.

NATO has REJECTED Russia’s demands over Ukraine.

 

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has rejected Russian demands to rescind a 2008 commitment to Ukraine that the country would one day become a member of the Western military alliance.

 

The remarks came on Friday after Russia’s foreign ministry said that NATO should formally scrap a 2008 declaration to grant membership to Georgia and Ukraine, two former Soviet republics.

 

“NATO’s relationship with Ukraine is going to be decided by the 30 NATO allies and Ukraine, no one else,” Stoltenberg told reporters in Brussels on Friday.

 

Russia annexed Ukraine’s Crimea region in 2014 while allegedly supporting separatist rebels in the country’s eastern Donbas region. Russian troops also occupy two breakaway regions of Georgia.

 

In the past few weeks, Russia has moved about 100,000 troops to Ukraine’s border, sounding alarm bells in Washington and at NATO’s Brussels headquarters.

Civilians Could Serve on Military Tribunals

Pentagon lawyers designing historic military tribunals to try terrorists are poring over history books and legal tomes for guidance.

 

While U.S. law permits the executive branch to design the commissions with few restrictions, even with little regard to precedent, officials drafting the rules are reportedly keeping history in mind.

 

America has a long tradition of using military tribunals to try foreign combatants and even terrorists, reaching as far back as the American Revolution. Most recently, military commissions were used extensively by the United States during and after World War II.

 

In 1942, President Franklin Roosevelt used tribunals to try eight Nazi saboteurs who landed on the East Coast apparently to harm wartime industrial production. Hundreds of German and Japanese prisoners were tried at military tribunals — including after the fall of Nazi Germany.

 

White House officials say the administration is carefully studying the rules and procedures used at the Nuremberg trials, which resulted in the indictment of scores of Nazi officials and organizations charged with abetting the Nazi effort. The Nuremberg trials were distinct from military tribunals established in the United States in that they used high-ranking civilians as judges.

 

Some experts say placing respected civilians on the Bush terror tribunals, such as retired U.S. generals, or former secretaries of defense or attorneys general, would go a long way toward shoring up international support for such commissions. "The more that can be done to make this process appear like a regularly constituted court the greater it will be received in the global community," said Sean Murphy, a professor at George Washington University Law School.

 

The Bush team is also reportedly looking at rules of procedure drawn up for Korean War-era military commissions that never took place. The rules provided defendants with "reasonable opportunity to consult with his counsel before and after defense, to interpretation of charges and the substance of the proceedings as well as any documentary evidence. The defendants were to have the right to remain silent, to cross-examine witnesses, and to a presumption of innocence until guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt.

 

The Bush Nov. 13 order establishing such commissions has already said the tribunals might not carry the "reasonable doubt" burden of proof or other principles generally recognized in U.S. civilian courts.

 

1866: Court Says Civil Courts Should Have Been Used

 

Military tribunals like those currently under consideration by President Bush have not been used by the United States since the World War II era. But they were used even earlier in the Civil War to try suspects accused of plotting to assassinate the governor of Indiana, free Confederate prisoners and seize the federal arsenal at Rock Island, Ill.

 

Abraham Lincoln's secretary of war decided to try the alleged conspirators, anti-war Democratic politicians, before a commission composed of military officers. The suspects were indeed tried by the tribunal and several were sentenced to be hanged.

 

But the condemned men appealed their case, called Ex Parte Milligan to the Supreme Court, which decided after the war had ended, in 1866, that civilians could not be tried by a military tribunal if the civil courts were open and functioning.

 

Decades later, President Franklin Roosevelt ordered similar tribunals to try eight Nazi saboteurs who landed in the United States six months after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and had been instructed to destroy war industries in the United States.

 

Four of the saboteurs landed on Amagansett Beach on Long Island, N.Y., in the middle of the night in a German submarine, carrying a supply of explosives. Four others landed at Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. All eight landed on U.S. soil in Nazi uniform but eventually ditched their military dress for civilian togs. All were eventually captured in New York or Chicago.

 

Roosevelt, declaring the suspects had no right for trial in U.S. civilian courts, appointed a military commission that subsequently sentenced the saboteurs to death. Today, many experts believe Roosevelt chose to try the suspects by tribunals because government agencies had bungled the case.

Court Upholds Nazi Saboteur Panel

 

The saboteurs who landed on Long Island came upon a U.S. Coast Guard beach patrolman who happened to be unarmed. The Nazis managed to get away, and Coast Guard officials did not contact the FBI for 12 hours after spotting the saboteurs.

 

But a leader of the saboteurs was worried about the Coast Guard encounter and decided to call the FBI to hand the group in.

 

"They were sort of the 'Keystone Cops' of the espionage business," says Michal Belknap, professor at California Western School of Law. The Nazis chose the saboteurs because of their familiarity with the United States. One had previously been a waiter in New York's Catskill Mountains. “The assault of Jussie Smollett is not an isolated incident,” GQ reported in its article, which was not originally labeled an opinion piece. “Americans who do not fit the white, straight, male, or Christian mold of the ruling class are being targeted with concerning regularity, in synagogues and churches and nightclubs.”

 

At this point you may be thinking, “Weren’t the men who were accused of attacking Smollett black?” You would be correct, but according to GQ, you would be showing your lack of understanding about the widespread issue of “white supremacy” in American culture.

 

“The perpetrators are not all white, but they are cultivated in a culture built to reward the narrow slice of Americans that have lives that mirror those of the powerful and largely disregard the misfortune of those who do not,” GQ reported.

 

It’s not surprising that leftist media outlets and politicians jumped on this story. After all, it fit their narrative of Trump supporters being bigoted homophobes who go around attacking minorities.

 

Many raised questions about Smollett’s story at the time, but they were promptly dismissed by the left. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wrote in a since-deleted tweet that the event was indisputably a “racist and homophobic attack.”

 

As it turned out, the story was too good to be true for the left. Smollett orchestrated the attack himself, and he has been convicted of lying to the police as a result.

 

Yet even after Smollett’s conviction, many politicians left their false tweets on their timelines. Of the Democrats mentioned above, only Swalwell issued a statement of apology after the verdict.

 

Faking an attack against yourself to try to forward your preferred political narratives is disgusting — but thanks to these leftists, it was also effective.

 

While Smollett deserves to be held accountable for his actions, so do the politicians and their media lapdogs who intentionally stoked the flames.

RAF Lakenheath: US airman found dead just hours after going missing from Suffolk base

 

A US airman has been found dead just hours after he was reported missing from a British air force base.

The soldier, identified as Camden Mello from the 48th Fighter Wing Command Team is believed to have disappeared from the base around December 9. Staff from the base were deployed to look for Camden, with teams searching throughout the night and into the morning.

Congress Pushes $4.5 BILLION Aid for Ukraine, European Defense As Politicians Saber-Rattle over Russia

 

As Americans suffer all time price highs amidst the greatest wealth transfer in history, the U.S. Congress has proposed sending $300 million to Ukraine’s military in the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The funding will go, in part, to the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative to support the nation’s armed forces.

 

A further $4 billion is billed to go to the European Defense Initiative, with a further $150 million for Baltic Security cooperation. Ukraine has welcomed the proposal, due to a perceived Russian military threat along their border.

 

Only half of the proposed funding will be subject to conditions surrounding Ukrainian defense reforms subject to NATO standards, civilian control of the military, and greater accountability in procurement. The U.S. Congress also wants to ensure that Ukraine receives “lethal assistance” such as anti-armor weapons, anti-aircraft weapons systems, and procurement of vessels for Ukraine’s Navy in order to “counter maritime aggression.”

 

The bill was designed to encourage allied nations to provide Ukraine with expedited defense articles.

 

At present, Ukraine’s foreign minister Dmytro Kuelba stated that he has “no information” about whether Russia plans to launch a military campaign against Ukraine. The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the nation does not want a war with Russia, but is ready for war should Russia attack.

 

Publicly, the bill has been received with skepticism as American families deal with the growing cost of goods as inflation surges globally.

 

Some have noted that the funding may support groups like the Azov Battalion within the Ukrainian Army, who have openly supported neo-Nazi ideologies.

Pastor John MacArthur makes the point that tithing is not Biblical, in so far as a 10% requirement/law/whatever is concerned. He says Abraham tithed 10% of the spoils/excess to Melchizedek voluntarily and it’s only recorded that he did this once. I think Isaac or Jacob (can’t remember sadly) did so as well, but again, just once and voluntarily. He also speaks to the Old Testament requirements that are found in the early Books where the people were commanded to give 10% of this or that (crops, flocks, etc), but he explains that they had a theocratic form of government and the “tithing” that was required was a government requirement for the common welfare. In essence, the Old Testament tithe was paid to the church only because the church was the government (ran the place). He says that, while we don’t have a theocratic government, all government is ordained of God (good and bad) and that paying our taxes is our only Biblical duty in respect to the tithe. He also ran the numbers and the amount of taxation we currently have, excluding some of the more complex tax codes and loopholes and whatnot, is ~23%, and is equivalent to the tithe/taxation that was required in the Old Testament. Christian giving is to be voluntary and from the heart because God seeks cheerful givers, not to impose strict giving requirements that would obviously burden some much more than others. It makes sense really and, if you’re a Christian, it’s quite a blessing to understand what giving God really desires.

Gov. Hochul commits $2M to help Afghan refugees resettle in New York

 

New York Gov. Hochul welcomed Afghan refugees, revising the count of expected arrivals from the war-bruised nation upward.

 

The governor announced the state expects to take in some 1,800 refugees from Afghanistan and committed an extra $2 million to support the newcomers, who fled a country under the heel of the Taliban after the U.S. withdrew over the summer.

 

In September, when tragic images of America’s pullout were still fresh, Hochul’s office said the state could resettle roughly 1,100 Afghan evacuees in New York over the next six months.

 

On Tuesday, Hochul said New York was ready to accept “as many” refugees as are requested of it during the American resettlement effort, calling it a “huge point of pride for us.”

 

“Our message to the world is: Send us your people, send us those who need the cloak of comfort,” she said in remarks from Manhattan. “We’ll provide a safe haven, particularly for these Afghan refugees.”

 

The new arrivals are joining some 7,500 Afghans who already lived in New York State.

 

According to Hochul’s office, 495 evacuees are expected to land in Buffalo, the governor’s hometown; 420 in Syracuse; 275 in Rochester; 250 in Albany; 190 are expected in the New York City area; 50 are expected per locality in Niagara Falls, Utica, and Yonkers; and 10 are expected in Rockville Center.

 

According to the governor’s office, the extra $2 million in state funding will be distributed to nonprofits and will go toward helping the arrivals adjust to life in New York.

 

“I know that this is going to be money well spent,” Hochul said.

 

According to the Department of Homeland Security, 25,000 Afghan evacuees had been resettled across the U.S., and some 45,000 were awaiting relocation at seven military bases.

 

The Taliban swept into Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, on Aug. 15 as the U.S. was pulling out of the country. The early months of their reign have proved rocky.

 

The United Nations has warned that almost 23 million people, more than half of the country’s population, face extreme hunger ahead of the frigid winter months.

I had not heard of it. I live out in the country and there's nothing here for hundreds of miles. It's just land and sky as far as the eye can see. There are no buildings or anything. Photographs of Waitt's Plan B multi-deck vessel show employees doing a deep clean of the ship.

 

However, Ted Waitt and his family were not seen on the yacht.

 

The 240ft yacht was custom built in 2012 by ADM Shipyards and accommodates 12 guests in eight bedrooms.

 

According to Yacht Charter Fleet, the 73.15 meter custom motor yacht "was built by ADM Shipyards in Germany at their Kiel shipyard. The boat was delivered to her owner in 2012."

 

Inside the triple-decker yacht there is a jacuzzi, elevator, massage room, and gym.

 

Special features include a master suite with private balcony, high-volume interior, and elegant styling by H2 Yacht Design.

 

Other amenities built in the boat are air conditioning, WiFi connection on board, an elevator, and stabilizers underway and at the anchor.

 

"She is also capable of carrying up to 25 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience," Yacht Charter Fleet states.

 

The exterior of the boat was designed by Focus Yacht Design.

 

The YCF website describes the motor yacht "Plan B" as solely a private yacht and unavailable for charter.

 

Cruising speed for the massive yacht is 13 knots and top speed is 17 knots.

 

Although the price of the yacht is unknown, similar luxury vessels can be chartered up to $875,000 per week.

 

According to the New York Times, Maxwell helped Waitt "obtain and renovate, brought her to Croatia and the South of France.

 

"There was even a submarine put aboard Plan B that Ms. Maxwell knew how to pilot.

Chances are, if you have heard about the Phoenicians at all, it was probably in the context of the origin of the alphabet. However, in the last decade or so, a picture has begun to emerge about this mysterious culture that should actually be fascinating to futurists and those interested in the history of science and ideas. This mysterious group of seafarers created the first true naval empire, served to accelerate both the bronze and the iron age, may have have brought red hair to the Irish, and may actually be the real reason that Christianity spread so quickly two millennia ago.

 

Please note that much of this is speculation. While we are getting a better idea about history through genetic drift in populations, most of this essay takes place at the very rise of civilization, some of it going back 10,000 years or more, and much of it involves a culture that, despite having invented the alphabet, left almost nothing in their wake about what kind of culture and society they had.

 

Cedar and Bronze

If you look at most ancient settlements, the one defining character of most of them was the use of fired bricks of mud. It would take the combination of bronze nails and access to trees for lumber-based construction to take place, and even there, it was far more likely that the lumber was used not for houses but for boats.

 

These exact origins of these inhabitants is still unknown, though Qatar or Bahrain, on the Eastern Arabian peninsula, has been proposed. Bahrain in particular is notable for being an island, and as such reachable only by boats. This suggests that it might have been an ideal place for a sea faring culture to originate, one capable of going beyond the immediate visible horizon. Boats are interesting because they require so many skills to make — an understanding of keels and sails, the manufacture of metallic tools capable of chiseling and shaping wood, harnessing the power of fire.

 

In time, the temperatures began to warm, and as they did so, the benefits of lighter shades began to decline in comparison to the health costs — light hair and skin meant a higher incidence of cancer and higher levels of melanin provided greater levels of protection. In some parts of this population, the gene for expressing red hair itself disappeared, especially towards the east. Small isolated villages learned (or possibly relearned) the art of agriculture, and over time the population increased. The ancient city of Ur (which would eventually become Bagdad, Iraq) sprang up as stone working using ziggurats (an early kind of pyramid) became commonplace, eventually followed by Babylon, Ninevah and others.

 

The Babylonians the first historical Mesopotamian culture, spoke of the god Ea, the god of the sea, who came ashore in a mail of scales like a fish, bringing with him the gifts of law and writing and fire, in essence the rudiments of civilization. These seem strange gifts for a sea god, especially given that Ur was still several hundred miles from the nearest major body of water beyond the Tigris and the Euphrates. Yet perhaps this strange tale was a mythic retelling of traders coming on shallow water boats from distant Bahrain, bringing with them a technology that was almost alien in nature — early Bronze swords and plowshares, smelting furnaces and an accounting system, and the first codification of sea laws upon cuneiform tablets. Ea would in time become known as Oannes, and later Noah, he who saved the animals from the flood in Biblical legend. In the Phoenician pantheon he was Yum, god of underwaves and wisdom, and even millennia later, Yum had a place apart above the trading ships of the Phoenicians, the Canaanites, the Carthaginians.

 

It is not hard to imagine colonies springing up in Ur (which was on the Persian Gulf at the time) then up both the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, on flat-bottomed boats manned by these proto-Phoenicians. They spread westward with the Babylonians through Sumer and Assyria, part of the migration but distinct from the peoples around them, until they eventually made their way to the Levant, eventually encountering (and influencing) the Hittite cultures in Southern Turkey even as they found one of the most important resources a sea-faring culture could have … wood.

New documents released under New Zealand’s Freedom of Information Act reveal how Pfizer not only knew about “a large increase” in reported adverse events before the release of their experimental Covid-19 gene therapy ‘vaccine’ injection. Up until now, New Zealand GPs and hospitals have been provided with a fact sheet from Pfizer listing 21 possible adverse events as a result of vaccination.

The drops, called pilocarpine and marketed as Vuity by pharma outfit Allergan, could come to the aid of some 128 million Americans who are nearsighted. According to the company, one drop in each eye can sharpen closeup vision for six to 10 hours, CBS News reports.

The drops work by using the eye’s existing ability to reduce its pupil size.

“Reducing the pupil size expands the depth of field or the depth of focus, and that allows you to focus at different ranges naturally,” George Waring, principal investigator of a clinical trial for the drug involving 750 participants, told CBS.

The drops aren’t the cheapest, but aren’t prohibitively expensive, either, at $80 for a 30-day supply.

It isn’t a miracle drug, however. Reported side effects include headaches and red eyes. The company is also warning not to use the drops while driving at night.

The drops are also mostly effective for middle-aged people. Those above the age of 65 won’t see as much of an effect, according to CBS.

The value proposition is a matter of convenience — wearing reading glasses can be a pain for millions of people, so ditching them is intriguing.

“It’s definitely a life changer,” trial participant Toni Wright told CBS. “I would not need my readers as much, especially on the computer, where I would always need to have them on.”

Eroding trust in democratic institutions

 

The Australian Strategic Policy Institute’s latest report on the technology, titled Weaponised deep fakes, takes a deep dive into where the problem is heading.

 

“Deep fakes will pose the most risk when combined with other technologies and social trends: they’ll enhance cyberattacks, accelerate the spread of propaganda and disinformation online and exacerbate declining trust in democratic institutions,” the report reads.

 

The authors say the “Russian model” of disinformation — the sharing of large amounts of propaganda — will benefit most in coming years.

 

“Online propaganda is already a significant problem, especially for democracies, but deep fakes will lower the costs of engaging in information warfare at scale and broaden the range of actors able to engage in it,” the report reads.

 

“Today, propaganda is largely generated by humans, such as China’s ‘50-centres’ and Russian ‘troll farm’ operators. However, improvements in deep fake technology, especially text-generation tools, could help take humans ‘out of the loop’.

 

“The key reason for this isn’t that deep fakes are more authentic than human-generated content, but rather that they can produce ‘good enough’ content faster, and more economically, than current models for information warfare.

 

“Deep fake technology will be a particular value-add to the so-called Russian model of propaganda, which emphasises volume and rapidity of disinformation over plausibility and consistency in order to overwhelm, disorient and divide a target.”

A Catholic Bishop has been forced to apologies to outraged parents after telling a group of children that Santa Claus does not exist.

 

The Roman Catholic diocese of Noto in Sicily insisted that Bishop Antonio Stagliano did not mean to dash the dreams of youngsters two weeks before Christmas.

 

Communications director, the Rev Alessandro Paolino, posted on the Italian diocese's social media said Mr Stagliano was trying to underline the true meaning of Christmas and the story of St Nicholas, a bishop who gave gifts to the poor and was persecuted by a Roman emperor.

I think there is a possibility that even if Trump knew what they have planned, countering it would have been impossible as a sitting president.

They say they will follow all state laws for exemptions. Three hours after the botched raid, however, JAG received what it called “credible evidence” on Cuomo’s escape. While Marines detained the fake Cuomo and rifled through the home for incriminating evidence, the real Chris Cuomo was boarding a Cessna 340, a twin-engine general aviation aircraft, at Republic Airport in Farmingdale, New York.

 

Our source declined to say how the military acquired said evidence but offered the following comment:

 

“We know the plane’s registration and the name of the pilot. We know, if it had a full fuel load, it has a range of 1,400 miles. In the annual football uniform dispute, 2021 Army trumps Navy

Every year, West Point’s Black Knights and the Naval Academy’s Midshipmen duke it out on the football field to fanfare mostly stemming from the rivalry between Naval and Army officers. It’s a weekend that gives service members a good reason to drink, watch sports and argue over which branch is the greatest.

 

But notably for those of us who may be lowly enlisted or non-academy commissioned, the teams unveil new uniforms for the game each year. While some of these get-ups are absolutely magnificent, like the Army’s sexy 2018 black and red alternates, others quite honestly suck (here’s looking at you, 2020).

 

This year, however, both teams stepped up their sartorial game.

 

The Navy, we think, chose to honor the F/A-18 Super Hornets. It’s that or the seafaring branch is paying homage to Top Gun before its springtime sequel release. Frankly, we’re not sure. Either way, the solid dark blue uniforms have pops of patriotism, though the Midshipmen clearly weren’t interested in branching out color-wise. The current roundel, in the form of a white star sandwiched between one red and two white stripes posted on each shoulder, screams Americana, as do the pants with matching red and white stripes down each side. Hooyah.

 

The coolest part of the Midshipmen’s 2021 look is definitely found on their heads and hands (which they’ll need to use in equal measure if they want to beat the Black Knights this year). The helmets feature gold wings earned by Navy pilots, flight officers and aircrew, with a shiny Super Hornet painted on one side.

 

Their gloves read “Fly Navy” and they carry the unit patch for the Strike Fighter Wing, U.S. Atlantic Fleet out of Oceana, Virginia, on their chests.

 

And while those uniforms are snazzy and heavy on Independence Day-styled patriotism, the Army’s uniforms are just… so much more.

 

The Black Knights pay tribute to what has been a rough year for service members and veterans, marking not only the end of the “forever war” in Afghanistan but the 20-year anniversary of 9/11. West Point clearly took those events into consideration when crafting this downright masterpiece of a uniform.

 

Though the ensemble isn’t as in-your-face as the Navy’s, its symbolism is much heavier.

 

Each jersey carries an “Army” patch and a mirror patch emblazoned with the words “De Oppresso Liber,” which is Latin for “to free the oppressed.” It is the motto for Army Special Forces. The jerseys also carry the collar devices — really sticking with that utilities trend — worn by members of the Special Forces, showcasing crossed arrows and the letters “U” and “S.”

 

“United We Stand” replaces the word “Army” found on the back of regular season uniforms.

 

The Army’s helmets also bear the Special Forces crest and crossed arrows, an American flag, and unit insignia for the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment’s Night Stalkers. The date of the 2001 terrorist attacks are located front and center.

 

Similar to the way small details are important in any military uniform inspection, the special touches found on the Black Knights’ cleats take the cake this year.

 

On top of each boot is a pentagon-shaped logo with the twin towers of the World Trade Center in red, white and blue.

 

While the Navy’s uniforms are sure to please crowds and a couch-stomping Tom Cruise, the Army’s uniforms, like its formidable 2021 team, command respect.

Exactly. Some say best course for a average student is two years of community college, establish yourself as a serious student, then apply to a higher level school in what you want to specialize in.

 

One of my kids was recruited nationally. Athletics, in this case. Good student, too, so top notch schools called.

 

I was impressed by most of the coaches. They had good tips about the academic strategy. One school had a no major until the junior year rule because so many chose wrong as a freshman and wasted two years.

 

All in all, though, I think 4 year colleges are overhyped and a career based education is the best ticket. One of my other kids went that route. Apprenticeships or internships to get you name into the network are a real thing.

I went through hurricane michael in 2018, some of you may remember. Moved back to KY less than a year later. This tornado is bringing back the anxiety I know these folks are going through. seeing this much destruction is surreal over an extended period of time as all visual points of reference of your existance are gone.

It's nothing to just spread the info so folks can help. I've contacted KY Farm Bureau for donation drop off locations at surrounding agencies. And sent a message to Fruit of the loom which has a large plant in Bowling green to see if they have trucks going with supplies and if they can set up some type of donation packages like a virtual angel tree.

When the hurricane hit Mike Lindell sent a semi with pillows, mattresses etc but he's taken a good hit in the last year or so.

I'm just hoping to help.
