Bark
Inner bark tea used as an emetic and laxative. Bark chewed for toothache.
Fruit
Fruit husk used for ringworm, colic, and inflammation.
Leaves
Leaf tea has astringent properties and is insecticidal against bedbugs. Also has astringent and antifungal properties.
Notes
Recent studies suggest Black Walnut leaf extracts have antiviral activity and are effective against certain types of tumors. Juglone, a compound in the leaves, has the same effect as Valium (tm). Fruits husks and leaves may cause dermatitis.
