You used the word "sauce" and so I will assume you pride yourself in being able to dig for the truth. Your mission, a simple one, really, is to find the seminal, peer-reviewed, published scientific paper that claims to have isolated a particular THING (viral entity) from a sick animal showing symptoms of rabies and placing that isolated & purified THING into a healthy animal who then developed symptoms of rabies.

At best you will only find experiments that did not reproduce rabies by exposure to, or injection with, a biological microbe. All they ever show are the deaths of living monkey kidney cells (vero cells) in a petri dish and blaming those deaths on a THING they have failed to isolate & purify all on its own.
If someone in a crowd shoots & kills someone else, do you arrest & convict the whole crowd? Or do you separate the exact shooter from the rest of the crowd? If you don't separate the shooter from the crowd, how do you know you have the right person?
