Mark McGowan implements world first by making booster shot mandatory for WA workers

The West Australian Premier has revealed all workers who are subject to vaccine mandates are now required to get their booster shot within a month of becoming eligible.

The West Australian Premier has announced a booster shot is now mandatory for all workers in industries with vaccine mandates.

Mark McGowan made the announcement following a snap National Cabinet meeting where the Prime Minister and the state and territory leaders discussed the threat of the Omicron variant.

The Premier revealed the health advice showed three doses is “far more effective” against the Omicron strain when compared to two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

“You need to start thinking about booking a third dose as soon as possible, before Omicron comes into our community,” Mr McGowan said.

Under the revised mandate - the first booster shot mandate in the world - workers in the affected industries will need to have their booster shot within a month of becoming eligible.

The following industries will be affected: Border control and air transport, residential and non-residential community care services, corrective services, WA Police, emergency services, meat processing.

Workers in occupations deemed crititcal to the ongoing delivery of critical services in the community including supermarkets, hospitality, education, transport and financial institutions are also subject to the updated mandate. A full list of workers subject to mandates can be found here.

Mr McGowan said the new policy was an attempt to speed up the state’s booster shot uptake as only a third of those eligible for a third dose had so far received it.

Currently WA’s double dose vaccination rate for residents aged 12 years and older sits at 82.7 per cent while 90.9 per cent have received at least one dose.

The Premier revealed he suspected eventually a third dose would be a requirement for entry to events and stadiums but said a decision on that would be made at a later date.

Under the current health advice Australians can get their booster shot five months after their second dose however there is research underway on whether that interval could be shortened.

Mr McGowan said he “hoped” the interval was shortened so the timeframe for the booster shot mandates could also be brought forward.

James Franco admits to having sex with his students: ‘That was wrong’

James Franco is finally copping to having sex with his students more than two years after they accused him of sexual exploitation.

The “This Is the End” star admitted in a wide-ranging interview with SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle that he thought sleeping with students of his acting school, Studio 4, was acceptable because it was “consensual” but denied starting the program to have access to them.

“Look, I’ll admit I did sleep with students. I didn’t sleep with anybody in [my ‘Sex Scenes’ class], but, over the course of my teaching, I did sleep with students and that was wrong,” Franco, 43, explained to Cagle.

“But like I said, I, it’s not why I started the school and I, I didn’t, I wasn’t the person that selected the people to be in the class. So it wasn’t a master plan on my part. But yes, there were certain instances where, you know what I was in a consensual thing with, with a student and I shouldn’t have been.”

Franco acknowledged that he realized sleeping with his students was poor form after having conversations with other people about the concept.

“I suppose at the time, my thinking was if it’s consensual, OK. Of course I knew, you know, talking to other people, other teachers or whatever, like, yeah, it’s probably not a cool thing,” he reflected. “At the time I was not clearheaded, as I’ve said. So I guess my, I guess it just comes down to my criteria was like, if this is consensual, like, I think it’s cool. We’re all adults, so…”

Ex-students Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Toni Gaal filed a lawsuit in the Los Angeles County Superior Court in October 2019 claiming Franco and other instructors pressured women to get naked for auditions while dangling opportunities for movie roles that rarely materialized.

By engaging in “widespread inappropriate and sexually charged behavior towards female students,” Franco created “an environment of harassment and sexual exploitation” at the school, claims the suit, first reported by the New York Times.

The former “Freaks and Geeks” star’s attorney denied any wrongdoing at the time in a statement to The Post: “This is not the first time that these claims have been made and they have already been debunked.”

“James will not only fully defend himself, but will also seek damages from the plaintiffs and their attorneys for filing this scurrilous publicity seeking lawsuit,” the statement said.

However, according to Variety, Franco settled the lawsuit for $2,235,000 in June 2021.

Franco’s Studio 4 closed permanently in 2017.

“I let a lot of people down. I let my students down, I let the, I hosted the Oscars. I let them down. I let my co-workers down on my movies,” Franco told Cagle.

During the interview, Franco also admitted he’s battled sex addiction and before his current girlfriend, Izabel Pakzad, he “cheated on everyone.”

In the UK, after Government manipulation of hospitalisations and deaths to exclude more recent data, the truth is now emerging. In Scotland for August to November 2021 over 85% of deaths were in the vaccinated. Boosters are merely boosting COVID infections. Some 40,000 deaths have occurred in the USA, UK and EU following vaccination but Omicron is mild. The UK Government has manipulated the data to blame the unvaccinated but the vaccinated are at greatest risk.

It was clear from the first cases in South Africa and now in the UK and EU that the new Omicron variant of the coronavirus results in mild disease and very few deaths even “with COVID”. Indeed South African experts have advised stopping stop and trace and quarantining because most of the infected have no symptoms.

Considering the thousands of deaths and millions of injuries worldwide caused by the COVID vaccines there is very little difference between the decline in deaths between the least and most vaccinated countries.

Christians Protest Satanic Holiday Display Installed Alongside Nativity Scene In Illinois Capitol

Members of the Satanic Temple of Illinois traveled to the Illinois Capitol in Springfield to install a Satanic display in the rotunda alongside a Christian nativity scene already present. The Satanic display mocks Christianity with a statue of Baphomet as a baby.

The Stanic Temple members allege the display is meant to recognize the holiday of Sol Invictus. However, the Sol Invictus Holiday is grounded in ancient Greek and Roman polytheism and unrelated to the Baphomet Satanic figure.

A group of Satanists stood around the display and offered praise of the statue and Satan, saying, “We invite you today to bring wisdom, justice, rationality…equality, tolerance, and passion…” and chanting “Hail Satan”. The Satanists were drowned out by a massive group of Catholic protestors praying on their knees. The protestors held signs which read, “Satan has NO rights!” and “Begone Satan! Mary Crushes the Serpent”.

The Catholic Bishop of Springfield criticized the Satanic display, describing it as a mockery of religion for political purposes. A Diocese of Springfield spokesperson said, “Mocking the millions of Christians in the state of Illinois and billions around the world by depicting the baby Jesus this Christmas with the ‘satanic deity’ Baphomet is the very definition of evil and causing division, but that is to be expected from an organization that is in existence to troll people of faith.”

The State of Illinois put a sign in the rotunda by the displays which says, “The State of Illinois is required by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution to allow temporary, public display in the state capitol so long as these displays are not paid for by taxpayer dollars. Because the first floor of the Capitol rotunda is a public place, state officials cannot legally censor the content of speech or displays. The United States Supreme Court has held that public officials may legally impose reasonable time, place and manner restrictions regarding displays and speech, but no regulation can be based on the content of the speech.”

This is the third year in which the Satanists have installed a display in the Illinois Capitol. In 2019, they installed a display called “Knowledge is the Greatest Gift” which depicted the forearm of a biblical Eve reaching for an apple, besides a snake.
