Democrat New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s wife, Tammy Murphy, tested positive for Covid-19 after the family returned from an 8-day Christmas trip to Costa Rica.

Murphy was harshly criticized for traveling to Costa Rica as Covid cases surged.

Governor Murphy has imposed some of the strictest Covid mandates on New Jersey residents while he jet-sets to other countries.

Only the peasants have to obey mandates and stay home while the elites travel to tropical locations.

Murphy and his family have taken 3 vacations in the last two months.

“The Governor and First Lady tested themselves due to a recent known non-family contact in their home. Required procedures for reporting, case investigation, and contact tracing have been followed,” Murphy’s office said in a statement Sunday.

Murphy and his four children have all tested negative for Covid.

The Dallas Morning News published a story last Thursday claiming Cruz found himself in a "predicament" last week, which the story identified as "an outspoken teenage daughter with a TikTok account."

The newspaper published its story to Twitter with a headline that read, "Ted Cruz's daughter says she disagrees with 'most of his views.'" The story, however, did not explain where that assertion derived.

However, the story explained that the Dallas Observer first reported on the existence of the TikTok account. That story revealed the tidbit about the alleged political views of Cruz's daughter.

In a recent video posted to TikTok, Cruz’s teenage daughter Caroline tells her followers about the pros and cons of being a senator’s kid. On the plus side, she says, she gets to travel and sometimes receives gifts and candy in the mail. Downsides include the fact that security has to shadow her wherever she goes, such as on walks through the neighborhood and to her friends’ houses.

Next, Caroline reveals another, more surprising tidbit. “A lot of people judge me based upon him at first glance,” Caroline said, “but I really disagree with most of his views.”

Billionaire Ronald Lauder blasts Hochul over universal mail-in voting

Conservative billionaire cosmetics heir Ronald Lauder is taking on Gov. Kathy Hochul over her push to allow universal no-questions-asked mail-in voting — even though voters rejected the move in November.

The super PAC Safe Together in New York, bankrolled by Lauder, is currently airing a radio ad blasting Hochul over her continued support for a permanent option for everyone to be able to vote by mail.

Albany had approved a law that temporarily allowed the measure during the COVID pandemic to prevent transmission of the deadly bug at the polls.

But the state Board of Elections struggled with the massive expansion of mail-in balloting during the 2020 general election, including sending the wrong information to thousands of voters.

A year later, a referendum calling to make the option permanent for all registered voters — not just those who are ill or immobile — was defeated at the polls.

But Hochul won’t let it die, vowing last month to make the controversial ballot proposal a top priority in the 2022 legislative session.

“What really makes me sick is professional politicians like Kathy Hochul,” says a man suffering from a cold in the six-figure radio ad.

His spouse responds, “Yeah, I saw she decided she knows better than the 1.6 million voters who said no to playing games on voting and redistricting.”

The guy complains, “Hochul. Who voted to make her governor?”

His wife replies, “Nobody did, Dear. She’s just Andrew Cuomo’s parting gift to New York.”

Hochul took office after ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo resigned in disgrace in August amid a sexual-harassment scandal.

“Tell Kathy Hochul to keep her hands off your vote,” a third voice says in the ad.

Republicans and conservatives have long complained that mail-in balloting is more susceptible to voter fraud.

Lauder has plowed $5.6 million into the PAC, which in 2020 targeted state Democratic pols who voted for a law to relax bail for most criminal defendants. A longtime political activist and donor, Lauder unsuccessfully ran for New York City mayor in 1989.

Hochul, as with her fellow Democrats, has defended the expansion of mail-in balloting as a way of increasing voter participation.

In response to the ad, a Hochul campaign spokesman referred The Post to the governor’s previous comments about the issue Dec. 16.

“So rising case numbers is part of the Omicron variant, part of the new phase of the pandemic we're in.”

Mr Morrison also said the “majority” of those ending up in hospital with COVID-19 are the unvaccinated.

“You want to end up in hospital, the most likely way to end up there from COVID is not to be vaccinated.

“What we know is that this virus is less virulent and this strain is far less virulent of what we saw with Delta.

“The majority of cases that we're seeing in hospitals are people who are unvaccinated."

The Prime Minister said the next "most likely reason" people are still being hospitalised is because they have the Delta rather than the Omicron variant.

“Omicron is overtaking now the Delta variant of this virus. The Omicron cases that are finding their way into the health system are very, very, very small.

“And it's the same thing we're seeing, particularly overseas in the United Kingdom, where we've seen ICU rates and we've seen those on ventilators are remaining quite flat, despite the fact that even hospitalisation numbers have risen and even more so, case numbers."

A 22-year-old survivor of an ultra-Orthodox, anti-Zionist cult in Guatemala is in the midst of a years-long struggle to extract his two-year-old son from the hands of the leadership of the extremist group.

Israel Amir managed to escape the Lev Tahor cult while holed up in a Guatemala forest compound two years ago.

The group has been described as a cult and as the “Jewish Taliban,” as women and girls older than three are required to dress in long black robes covering their entire body, leaving only their faces exposed. The men spend most of their days in prayer and studying specific portions of the Torah. The group adheres to an extreme, idiosyncratic reading of kosher dietary laws.

Lev Tahor was founded by Rabbi Shlomo Helbrans in Jerusalem in the 1980s. The group fled to Canada and then to Guatemala in 2014 after coming under intense scrutiny by Canadian authorities for alleged child abuse and child marriage.

In November, two top leaders of the group, Nachman Helbrans and Mayer Rosner, were convicted by a federal court in New York of child sexual exploitation and kidnapping in a case involving a family that escaped from the cult.

Before leaving the cult, Amir filmed a video during which he described the brutality of the leaders, the lack of food and the extreme conditions at the compound. He sent the video to his cousins in Israel who flew to Guatemala and helped him leave. He has since been re-acclimating to life back in Israel, far away from the cult.

A year ago, though, Amir decided to return to Guatemala in order to save his young child, who is still being held by Lev Tahor.

Channel 12’s Uvda investigative program followed Amir on his journey and aired a special report on Thursday revealing never before known details about the manner in which Lev Tahor operates.

After appealing to various Knesset members with no luck, Amir managed to recruit a former senior Shin Bet officer, Eshel Armoni, to assist him in extracting his now two-year-old son.

Pennsylvania Democrat Commissioner Charged with Raping 15-Year-Old Boy

A Democrat elected official in Darby Township, Pennsylvania, has been arrested and charged with raping a 15-year-old boy.

Marvin Smith, a 50-year-old Democrat elected to the Darby Township Board of Commissioners in 2019, turned himself in to the Philadelphia Police Department late last week on charges of rape, sexual assault, and others related to the rape of a 15-year-old boy in 2017.

According to investigators, on August 12, 2017, Smith was in his vehicle when he approached the boy and offered to give him a ride. Smith lured the boy by claiming to be a family friend, investigators claim.

When the boy got into Smith’s vehicle, Smith drove them to a park where he then allegedly raped the teen. Afterward, the boy told police that Smith dropped him off at an undisclosed location. The boy first filed a sexual assault complaint against Smith in April 2019 but an arrest warrant was not issued until November 22, 2021.

Smith remains listed as a Darby Township Commissioner on the local government’s website. Smith remains in police custody on a $100,000 bail.

In September 2020, following a summer of riots by Black Lives Matter activists, Smith shared a meme on his Facebook page that depicted two black men with guns drawn at a white police officer’s head with the caption, “Does it have to come to this to make them stop murdering and terrorizing us?”

As a result, Smith was stripped of his duties overseeing the region’s police department.

Utah ‘millionaire’ allegedly kidnapped, tortured woman in his home for weeks

A self-proclaimed “millionaire” from Utah allegedly kidnapped a woman for weeks and held her captive in his home where he repeatedly beat her and carved the number six into her hand to represent the woman’s six-month deadline to “love him or be killed.”

Ramone Marcio Martinez, 39, of Salt Lake City, was arrested on Dec. 29 and charged with aggravated kidnapping and assault, according to local reports.

The victim, whose identity was not revealed, managed to escape with a single text message to her friend saying she was being held captive. The friend told police, which prompted the investigation.

“The victim had texted him begging for help and that she was scared for her life,” according to a police booking affidavit, obtained by ABC 4.

Police responded to Martinez’s home, where he answered the door holding a handgun inside the front pocket of his hoodie.

According to the affidavit, police found the victim with bruises around both of her eyes. She complained of rib pain and difficulty breathing.

She told police that she had been assaulted six times on the previous day alone, according to KSL.

“At another point in time (he) grabbed the victim and held a knife to her throat. Again at another point in time, (Martinez) grabbed a knife and carved the number ‘6’ into the victim’s left hand stating that she had six months to love him or be killed. And lastly, at some point during the day, the victim stated (Martinez) grabbed a gun and pointed it at her head,” according to the affidavit.

The woman told officials Martinez strangled her to the point of urination twice. He also threatened her with a knife and gun and beat her with a belt, which caused bruising to her face.

After he was detained, he was taken to the hospital to check for high blood pressure where he confessed to strangling the woman, the affidavit says. He then later admitted he had planned to move the woman to another residence in Arizona the night of his arrest.

Police recommended that Martinez be held without bail due to his cache of firearms and access to large amounts of money. He told police he was a “millionaire” with businesses in California, Oregon and Arizona.

A LinkedIn profile shows that Martinez is the CEO of Truu Med, a medical cannabis doctor referral service. For a fee, the company will connect patients with a doctor that will write a letter on behalf of the patient. He appeared on a local news outlet last year to discuss his business.

Man charged following fire at Old Parliament House

A 30-year-old Victorian man has been charged in relation to a fire that police will allege was deliberately lit at Old Parliament House on Thursday (30 December 2021).

The AFP-led joint taskforce with ACT Policing has been investigating the matter under Operation Pike since Thursday.

ACT Policing detectives made the arrest, with the support of ACT Policing and Australian Federal Police resources, about 8.20pm Sunday, 2 January 2022, in Parkes, ACT.

The man has been charged with arson and damaging Commonwealth property and is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday (4 January 2022).

This arrest is in addition to three other arrests made on Saturday (1 January 2022) by ACT Policing. These people faced court on Sunday (2 January 2022).

One of the three was charged with three counts of assaulting a frontline service provider, the second was charged with one count of assaulting a frontline service provider and the third was charged with hindering a Territory official.

The Taskforce under Operation Pike will continue investigations to identify other people involved in the fire and other criminal activity and further arrests may occur.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin tests positive for COVID

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is experiencing mild symptoms after testing positive for COVID-19 Sunday morning, he wrote in a statement.

Austin is the most recent latest high-level White House official to test positive, in what appears to be an outbreak in the executive office.

Austin is currently at home on leave. He said he plans on following CDC guidelines to quarantine at home for five days.

"Stemming the spread of this virus, safeguarding our workforce and ensuring my own speedy and safe recovery remain my priorities," he wrote. "To the degree possible, I plan to attend virtually this coming week those key meetings and discussions required to inform my situational awareness and decision making. I will retain all authorities. He added that he last met with President Joe Biden on Dec. 21, 2021, one week before showing symptoms.

"As my doctor made clear to me, my fully vaccinated status — and the booster I received in early October — have rendered the infection much more mild than it would otherwise have been. And I am grateful for that," Austin wrote.

"The vaccines work and will remain a military medical requirement for our workforce. I continue to encourage everyone eligible for a booster shot to get one. This remains a readiness issue," he concluded.

The U.S. military has taken a hard line to requiring vaccines and reportedly has yet to approve a single religious exemption to the mandate.

Taliban a 'major U.S. arms dealer' after weaponry left behind in Afghanistan, watchdog warns

“The Taliban is going to be selling tickets to their terrorist gun show," head of Open the Books warns.

This week’s Golden Horseshoe is awarded to the Biden administration for the billions of dollars in military equipment left behind for the Taliban after the botched U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The spending watchdog Open The Books found $89.2 billion in military equipment, including training, was provided to Afghan security forces during America’s longest running war.

The sophisticated military equipment left behind included Blackhawk helicopters, attack aircraft, tens of thousands of vehicles, and 650,000 weapons.

"The hasty withdrawal of U.S. military forces in Afghanistan turned the Taliban into a major U.S. arms dealer for the next decade,” Open The Books CEO and Founder Adam Andrzejewski told Just The News. “The Taliban is going to be selling tickets to their terrorist gun show."

The equipment left behind includes 650,000 weapons, including 350,000 M4 and M16 rifles, 65,000 machine guns, 25,000 grenade launchers, and 2,500 mortars and howitzers, Andrzejewski said.

The watchdog found the United States provided 75,000 military vehicles including 50,000 light- and medium-tactical vehicles, 22,000 Humvees, and 928 mine-resistant vehicles to Afghanistan since 2001.

Andrzejewski detailed other military equipment provided to the Afghan National Army and security forces.

It included 110 Black Hawk helicopters, which cost $21 million each; 20 A-29 Super Tucano attack aircraft, which cost $21.3 million each; and 7 C-208 light attack airplanes at $12.1 million each. Those airplanes, he noted, are very sophisticated and carry anti-tank missiles and Hellfire missiles.

Other U.S.-funded surveillance and reconnaissance equipment included six Aerostat surveillance balloons, valued at $8.9 million each; eight ScanEagle drones valued at $1.4 million each; and over 16,000 night vision devices valued at approximately $80 million.

Andrezejewski said President Biden did not anticipate the collapse of the Afghan Nation Army and his initial budget to Congress included billions more for the forces.

“In fact, Biden's budget to Congress FY2022 had $3 billion more for the Afghan forces. The president never saw the swift collapse of the national army and was caught completely flat-footed,” he said.

Biden this week signed the $787 billion National Defense Authorization Act which for FY2022 funds the the Department of Defense, for Department of Energy national security programs, and for the Department of State.

“The Act provides vital benefits and enhances access to justice for military personnel and their families, and includes critical authorities to support our country’s national defense,” Biden said.

"The Biden Administration promised a 'peace dividend' from leaving Afghanistan. However, the National Defense Authorization Act just increased funding of the U.S. military by $30 billion,” Andrzejewski said. “There's no peace dividend, as the world is much more unsafe today because of the botched withdrawal."
