The Eight Beatitudes - List

The beatitudes are considered by the Church, to contain the most concise summary of the spiritual life of man.

The Eight Beatitudes - List

The eight beatitudes are the teachings of Jesus during his Sermon on the Mount (Beatitudes Mountain) in which he describes the attitudes and actions that should characterise his followers and disciples. Live by them and their meanings.

The beatitudes list below contains the 8 beatitudes from Matthew Chapter 5, and the points to remember when trying to live a Christian life.

These beatitudes have a few different versions and amongst other places are listed in the bible, King James version (KJV).

The Beatitudes in the Bible can be found within the Sermon on the mount in Matthew 5:3–12 and a subset of them is recounted in the Sermon on the Plain in Luke 6:20–23.

The Beatitudes in Matthew are followed by the words; Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Numbers 1, 2, 4 & 8 of the below are shared between Matthew and Luke.
