Just started doing some digging on the movie theatre weirdness (pic related) and I'm making a spreadsheet to get a better idea of whats going on and its already proving interdasting. So this is the listings from 01/06 to 01/27 on showtimes.com for one AMC theatre in my area. Other theatres I've looked at have shown similar strange listings but I haven't collected data from those for comparison (yet. Like I said I just started). So it doesn't show it here but on 01/06 there is a normal listing of 7-8 currently playing movies (A Journal for Jordan, Matrix 4, etc) 01/07 the weirdness starts. As others have already mentioned the only movie playing is 355 (a movie about clowns, go figure) so for five days (01/07-01/11) that is the only movie listed. WED 01/12 doesn't even show up in the list which I assume means that there are no movies playing at all that day (I've yet to check the theatres site to look for mentions of that location being closed on 01/12 but I will). Then on 01/13 the only movie playing is Scream, 355 is gone and still no other movies playing. From 01/13 to 01/18 the only movie listed is Scream (6 days total) then on WED 01/19 (another Wednesday you'll notice) there is again nothing, doesn't even show in the menu. Starting 01/20 Scream is gone and the only movie listed is something called Redeeming Love (haven't looked it up yet to see what it's about). Redeeming Love is then the only movie listed from 01/20 to 01/27 (7 days) and the 27th is the last day listed in the menu, you can't see anything past that. So to sum up: 5 days of 355 (01/07-01/11), 6 days of Scream (01/13-01/18), and 7 days of Redeeming Love (01/20-01/27). Plus two days of nothing (WED 01/12 and WED 01/19). Should be interesting to compare to other theatres and I will be digging on this for a while tonight. Just wanted to get what I already found on here in case anyone else wants to dig.

Movie Theatre Fuckery Dig

>That's an awful lot of coincidences

Oh it gets better. Just did another theatre (pic related)

Very similar all through january except there are no "closed" days and there is one day of overlap where 355 and Scream both play then where Scream and Redeeming Love both play, then back to just one movie each time. This time the numbers are 7 days of 355 (01/07-01/13) 8 days of Scream (01/13-01/20) and 8 days of Redeeming Love (01/20-01/27) with two days of overlap on the 13th and the 20th as opposed to the two closed days on the 12th and the 19th. Once again the listings stop on the 27th of January but this time they start back up on Feb 24 (02/24) and run until March 02 (03/03) once again with only one movie playing. This time a movie called STUDIO 666. KEK.

Moar weirdness. Someone on twatter pointed out that if you go to the IMDB page for 355 and scroll past the cast listings to the bottom, the first listing in the "More Like This" section is something called Sound of Freedom staring Jim Caviezel (Passion of the Christ, Person of Interest). Here is the description:

"The story of Tim Ballard (Jim Caviezel), a former US government agent, who quits his job in order to devote his life to rescuing children from global sex traffickers."

Someone else on twatter mentioned that their local listings showed on March 3 after a similar run of STUDIO 666 that a movie called Peace River started showing. Which is strange because Peace River came out in 2021 according to IMDB and here is the again rather interesting description:

"Two young kids growing up in the rodeo cowboy life form a foundation with each other and family. He becomes a Champion Rodeo cowboy and special forces soldier but is crushed by war and personal loss. She must watch him struggle. He must draw on faith and the "cowboy way" to reclaim his will to live and the love of his life."

Interesting. I haven't looked at any dates prior to 01/06/2022 but I will when I can. I have seen a few comments to the effect that this phenomenon is not limited to US theatres. Thats also on my list (which seems to be growing rapidly) that I will be trying to look into as I can. At this point I've only looked at two local theatres and read some twitter posts and already found all this weirdness.

Basically it seems as though a large amount of theatres across multiple countries either have no listings of any movies playing after January 6th (so starting on the 7th) or they only list one movie playing (in the the whole theatre) for days. There are variations on this theme but in general the movies that are playing after the sixth are 355, Scream, Redeeming Love, and Studio 666 in that order with no or almost no overlap. In other words only movie playing at a time, usually for 5-8 days and then in changes to the next movie. This or similar patters are being reported in many locations across the country and even across the world (UK, Bulgaria, Romania, Australia, Ireland and probably others)

So probably the best place to start would be either by looking at movie listings in your local area to see if you find the same pattern or you could dig into the movies that are playing after the 6th, 355, Scream, Redeeming Love, and Studio 666. I haven't looked much at that aspect yet but there does seem to be some weirdness there and that would probably be less data intensive to dig than lists of dates and spreadsheets if you prefer. I got started on all this from this twatter post and the comments so thats another good starting point. Hope that helps. Cheers.

Interdasting. Seems to be some kind of futuristic variant of Beauty and The Beast. Also the 12th is one of two days where the AMC in my town doesn't have any listings at all.

>Wild west child sex slave love story

"Sold into prostitution as a child, Angel knows nothing but betrayal. Can her heart ever be mended? Based upon the novel by Francine Rivers."

Another (loosely) connected film Sound of Freedom is about "child sex trafficking" also

>Moar movies listed here:

Yeah Fandango shows normal looking listings for at least one one of the theatres that I used but the same unusual pattern of listings for the other. It's definitely not consistent but is very wide spread.

>Operation Fortune Ruse de guerre

Special agent Orson Fortune and his team of operatives recruit one of Hollywood's biggest movie stars to help them on an undercover mission when the sale of a deadly new weapons technology threatens to disrupt the world order.

Another clown flick. And a shitty one from the looks of it. Interesting use of "world order" in description tho.
