Amtrak passengers stranded 24 hours in Lynchburg, Virginia due to downed powerlines, trees
The train left Lynchburg at 9:41 Monday morning, made it 20 miles, and then returned to Lynchburg due to the weather and power outages. After that, the train was expected to leave the station in the afternoon but due to power not being restored, they are unable to leave.
