The NYPD’s Executive Protection Unit chauffeurs a number of high-ranking elected officials as part of their security detail, but it was not clear exactly how many people in the city get that privilege. City & State confirmed that de Blasio, New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer, New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams and New York City Council Speaker Corey Johnson all get NYPD drivers. De Blasio’s immediate family members – McCray and their kids Dante and Chiara – have all been known to be chauffeured by the NYPD at times, but it wasn’t clear how often they get the service. The NYPD did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
