This pushed the quits rate to 3%, matching the high from September.

Workers particularly quit their jobs in the hospitality industry, which had by far the highest quits rate at 6.1% in November, as well as health care. The number of job leavers in transportation, warehousing and utilities also increased.

“Workers continued to quit their jobs at a historic rate. The low-wage sectors directly impacted by the pandemic continued to be the source of much of the elevated quitting,” said Nick Bunker, director of research at the Indeed Hiring Lab, in emailed comments.

The big question for 2022 is whether this dynamic will persist.

The high quits rate is a symptom of the tight labor market where workers can find a new — and potentially better — job quickly.

The November data released Tuesday doesn’t yet factor in the arrival of the Omicron variant on America’s shores, which pushed infections higher and put many workers at risk to contract the virus at their places of work.

Including layoffs and discharges, the number of total separations was 6.3 million in November.

Hotels and restaurants registered the biggest increase in separations, while also logging the biggest decline in open jobs, the data showed.

America had 10.6 million jobs to fill in November, a slight decline compared with just over 11 million job openings in October. America’s available jobs peaked at 11.1 million last July.

Positions in finance and insurance, as well as the federal government jobs increased in November.

Hires were little changed at 6.7 million.

17 alleged gang members charged in sweeping indictment in Brooklyn

Seventeen alleged gang members responsible for a spate of shootings, including four murders, were charged in an 118-count indictment in Brooklyn on Tuesday, officials announced.

The defendants, 14 of whom are teenagers, are accused of hunting down rival gang members and committing a series of armed assaults, killing four people and wounding 10 in the process, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office said.

“One of the most disturbing aspects of this case is the age of the defendants in this indictment. Some of them were as young as 14 or 15 years old” when the crimes were committed, said Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez at a news conference.

“That is heartbreaking, that some of our youngest residents in our county are involved in this gang and gun violence … it’s devastating and it’s truly destructive.”

The alleged babyfaced killers are members of the YPF gang — an alliance of three street gangs in Brownsville, East New York and Fort Greene that banded together to increase their power as they waged a war against their enemies, prosecutors said.

Videos obtained throughout the investigation allegedly show the teens flaunting their guns in a series of social media posts, including one that depicts a defendant shoving a gun inside a puppy’s mouth as he holds the dog by its scruff.

“These videos really show, and they were all uncovered during the course of the investigation, how deeply ingrained the problem is, how this gang and gun culture has obsessed these young men. They wave these guns around. They show them off. They brag about them. These guns are in a way something that they think makes them men,” Gonzalez told reporters.

“It just shows how deep our challenge is to change the culture that we have in some parts of our community.”

Last October, Iquan Warlick, 17, and Nakhai Addison, 17, allegedly shot and killed college freshman Sherard McKoy, 18, while he was inside of an East New York bodega waiting for food alongside an alleged rival of the two teens, prosecutors said.

Decades later, cable and radio businesswoman Ruth I. Kolpin Rubison bought the Carter mansion and restored it after renting the home back in 1963. She lived out her remaining years in the carriage house.

Rubison passed away in 2019 at the age of 96 and her family took ownership of the two residences — the second of which was envisioned as perhaps the world’s most ornate granny flat.

“What in the Sunday school is happening here,” another quipped.

But the story behind the so-called throne room has a sentimental twist.

“It deserves the attention, it really does,” Ron Petersen Sr., the son of Rubison told the Joplin Globe while giving a tour of the home. “This is not a small farmhouse you’re selling here — this is a historical place, and at the same time, my mother really made it beautiful just in the time she spent doing all this. It was a labor of love; she loved the property very much.”

Petersen explained that his mother was very proud of two large sugar maples that stood in front of the Carter Mansion. The trees were certified by the state of Missouri as bicentennial trees in 1976, which meant they were old enough to have lived in 1776 when the United States was born.

In 1998, a storm blew through town and took one of the trees down. The loss devastated Rubison, her son said.

“I said, ‘Mom, look at the silver lining: You can take that tree, saw it into lumber, dry it in a drying shed and maybe build something with it,’” Petersen told Joplin Globe. “That’s all it took. It wasn’t long before she had built that gazebo around that tree to memorialize it.”

Petersen said his mother used the gazebo as a place to entertain and installed an ice maker, refrigerator and tables and chairs along the circular walls around the stump.

Other ornate features of the home, such as a wood-adorned butler’s pantry and massive underground safe, also had the internet in a flurry.

China Evergrande Ordered to Demolish 39-Building Resort

BEIJING—A troubled Chinese real estate developer that is struggling with $310 billion in debt announced Tuesday it has been ordered to demolish a 39-building resort complex in a new blow to its finances.

Evergrande Group gave no explanation, but news reports said the government of Danzhou, a city on the southern island province of Hainan, found it was improperly built and violated urban planning law.

Evergrande’s struggle to comply with tighter official restrictions on use of borrowed money by China’s real estate industry have prompted fears of a possible default and financial crisis.

Evergrande asked Monday for trading of its shares in Hong Kong to be suspended. Trading resumed following Tuesday’s announcement, gaining 7.6 percent.

The company gave no indication of the possible loss from the demolition of the buildings on Ocean Flower Island. It said other buildings on the island weren’t affected by the order.

Evergrande, the global real estate industry’s most-heavily-indebted developer, warned last month it might run out of cash to keep up with debt payments and other obligations.

The company says it has 2.3 trillion yuan ($350 billion) in assets and 2 trillion yuan ($310 billion in debt), but it has struggled to sell assets fast enough to keep up payments to bondholders. Construction of some projects was temporarily suspended after contractors complained they weren’t being paid.

Tuesday’s announcement said buyers in 20210 signed contracts to purchase property worth a total of 442 billion yuan ($70 billion).

The Chinese regime tightened restrictions on developers last year.

The Danzhou government’s order said Evergrande’s project violated a national urban planning law. It said the government will organize demolition if the company fails to act.

Biden Falsely Claims COVID-19 Is 'Pandemic of the Unvaccinated' Despite Vaxxed Catching, Spreading Omicron

Once again, Joe Biden again shared vaccine misinformation by claiming that COVID-19 is a “pandemic of the unvaccinated” despite vaccinated individuals in the United States and abroad continuing to spread the virus.

As many vaccinated people continue to be infected with coronavirus, this week President Joe Biden falsely claimed that COVID-19 is a “pandemic of the unvaccinated.”

Unfortunately for Biden, his claims that the COVID-19 vaccines somehow prevent vaccinated individuals from contracting or spreading the virus are verifiably false, and have been refuted by several studies, reports, and even Biden’s own Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky.

Instead, for almost a year now, Americans have been told that vaccines may reduce the severity of COVID-19.

In October, Walensky said that the controversial vaccines were working “exceptionally well” at keeping people from experiencing severe illness and death after they contract COVID-19, but admitted, “what they can’t do anymore is prevent transmission.”

She then urged the vaccinated to go back to wearing masks.

In fact, the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States has gotten demonstrably worse than it had been prior to the mass vaccination campaign, as several variants of the disease have emerged and cases continue to mount.

Part of this is likely due to the Omicron variant, which affects a “disproportionate” number of vaccinated individuals according to Democrat California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Information released from Germany, Denmark, and the American CDC also indicates that the virus is overwhelmingly infecting vaccinated individuals, meaning – contrary to Biden’s claim – we may soon see a pandemic of the vaccinated.

Schools Now Openly Discriminating Against Students, Teachers Based on Race, as Segregation Returns to US

(RT) — Alpha News reported on December 21 that a Minnesota school board unanimously voted to pay black teachers and Native-American teachers more than their white colleagues on no basis other than color – not for merit or seniority or for taking on extra duties. They also voted to segregate staff into separate parts of the school based solely on color.

The story continued: “The board is chaired by Jodi Sapp, who previously came under fire for requiring concerned parents to dox themselves in order to comment on school matters. Under her leadership, the board voted to amend district policy so that non-white teachers only may receive ‘additional stipends’ to become mentors to other non-white colleagues. The new policy will also have the district ‘placing American Indian educators at sites with other American Indian educators and educators of color at sites with other educators of color.’”

The new meeting rules put in place by Sapp stated that parents or others speaking at board meetings may not identify board members by name or district staff members while speakers must identify themselves with their name and address, and must limit themselves to commenting only on agenda items.

When one man spoke without identifying himself, he was silenced until he consented and gave his address. At first, he gave only the name of the street he lived on, but Drill Sergeant Sapp told him that was not enough. The man said he was afraid to give the number because his home had been egg-bombed because of his opinions in the past.

Sapp instituted these new rules because people had said not very nice things about her at a previous meeting because they were not happy with her instituting the new policy. Apparently, she does not wish to be word-bombed at a meeting. Eggs later on the homes of her critics are apparently fine.

Alpha News continued: “Critics have pointed out that … the district’s new policies, which will have administrators placing teachers in work environments based on their race, looks a lot like segregation. Board members explained that this is not segregation.”

Would it be segregation if they created special places for white teachers to teach only among other white teachers and offered to pay white teachers more to mentor other white teachers while disallowing that special stipend for teachers of color?

The school board explained their policy as follows:

“When you’re one [minority in] … a [white] majority it can be very isolating and lonely. To have a support system in place for them is not to segregate them, it is absolutely to support them … It’s not about trying to throw the few [BIPOC] individuals we have into one building. It’s about showing them they aren’t alone.”

But Manchin told reporters Tuesday canceling the filibuster to only federalize elections is a “heavy lift” and is not his “absolute preference.”

“And the reason I say it’s a heavy lift is once you change a rule or you have a carve out, I’ve always said this – anytime there’s a carve out, you eat the whole turkey. There’s nothing left because it comes back and forth,” Manchin explained.

Along with 50 GOP senators, Manchin’s opposition to changing filibuster rules and to the massive $1.9 trillion reconciliation package threatens to upend Biden’s most prized legislative items.

In a world where central banks now openly engage in helicopter money paradrops and monetizing debt and deficits as far as the eye can see (knowing well that such actions always end in hyperinflationary tears but plowing on nonetheless), i.e., funding their respective governments, the literal printing of money by central banks to fill Treasury coffers is not nearly as exciting as it used to be. However, one place where money transfers from the central bank to the government (which in this particular case is represented by just one particular kleptocrat) are those in Turkey due to the absolute banana republic nature of the country, and which is closer than any other semi-developed nation to sliding into the hyperinflationary abyss; as such as all of its bizarre actions are scrutinized by a small group of fascinated onlookers who then try to extrapolate the Turkish experience to every other insolvent nation.

Well, speaking of bizarre actions, an especially egregious one took place on the final day of 20021, when Turkey’s central bank posted an extraordinary and unexplained daily profit of around $10 billion, sparking questions on what caused this overnight boon that will trickle down to the nation’s Treasury.

According to Bloomberg, the monetary authority disclosed an annual loss of around 70 billion liras ($5.2 billion) on Dec. 30 but just one day later, ended the year with 60 billion liras of profit, an unprecedented change of fortunes in a single day, according to its daily balance sheet. In February, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance as the central bank’s biggest stakeholder will begin collecting much of that sum as dividends. The biggest winner? Recep Tayyip Erdogan himself - after all he is the de facto government of Turkey - because in February, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance both of which are populated with Erdogan cronies and are the central bank’s biggest stakeholders, will begin collecting much of that sum as dividends.

The bizarre and unexplained "profit" came after President Erdogan unveiled measures meant to compensate lira investors for any losses, a move which sparked a furious surge in the lira which however was also catalyzed by a huge buying spree by the central bank which rushed to stabilize the lira, effectively leaving itself without net FX reserves. Even with this gross manipulation the Turkish currency slid 44% against the dollar last year, largely as the central bank - egged on by Erdogan - slashed its benchmark rate by 500 basis points since September, a move which we contend is part of Erdogan's master plan to leave the Turkish economy in ruins so that his own personal embezzlement of billions can not be traced.

“I’ve never spoken about this publicly until now, but the continued retaliation from New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and her staff has forced me to make this statement to set the record straight,” DeGriego said in a video statement.

“Many of you know I was the former chief financial officer of Spaceport America in New Mexico. I left that position after making multiple whistleblower complaints. I was forced to resign when I had to choose between keeping my job and committing crimes. But what our lying and hopelessly corrupt media refuse to disclose is that an even larger number of people refused to accept former President Trump as legitimately elected.

The Washington Examiner’s Byron York compared two polls, both from the same pollster, both asking the same question about presidential legitimacy, and discovered something very interesting…

Just look at the latest poll from the Washington Post and the University of Maryland. The pollsters asked this simple question: “Regardless of whom you supported in the 2020 election, do you think Joe Biden’s election as president was legitimate, or was he not legitimately elected?” Sixty-nine percent of respondents said Biden’s election was legitimate, while 29% said it was not legitimate.

Compare that to a poll from the same group with the same wording in October 2017, eight months into Trump’s presidency: “Regardless of whom you supported in the 2016 election, do you think Donald Trump’s election as president was legitimate, or was he not legitimately elected?” Back then, 57% said Trump’s election was legitimate, while 42% said it was not legitimate. [emphasis original]

So today, more people (69 percent) agree that Biden was legitimately elected than believed the same about Trump (57 percent) at about the same time in their respective presidencies. What’s more, during this so-called crisis of democracy, only 29 percent say Biden was not legitimately elected, while 42 percent said the same in 2016.

But as I’m sure many of you recall, the only crisis in democracy the media talked about during the Trump presidency was Trump himself, who the media deliberately smeared as a Russian spy.

You see how this works?

Georgia opens investigation into possible illegal ballot harvesting in 2020 election

Secretary of State Raffensperger says subpoenas could be forthcoming.

Georgia authorities have launched an investigation into an allegation of systematic ballot harvesting during the state's 2020 general election and subsequent U.S. Senate runoff and may soon issue subpoenas to secure evidence, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger confirmed to Just the News.

Georgia law strictly prohibits third-party activists from picking up and delivering ballots on behalf of voters, a tactic called "harvesting" that liberal organizers have tried to get legalized in many battleground states without success. The U.S. Supreme Court this summer rejected Democrat efforts to overturn an Arizona law that outlawed harvesting in the battleground state.

Raffensperger, who is seeking reelection in 2022, led a successful effort in 2019 to strengthen Georgia's prohibition against harvesting ahead of the 2020 presidential election, and defeated an effort by prominent Democrat lawyer Marc Elias to overturn the harvesting ban. Raffensperger also reviewed and rejected claims by former President Donald Trump of widespread fraud during the 2020 election in a series of contacts under investigation by a local district attorney in Atlanta and the Jan. 6 select committee in Congress.

According to interviews and documents reviewed by Just the News, Raffensperger's office received a detailed complaint from conservative voter integrity group True the Vote on Nov. 30 saying it had assembled evidence that scores of activists worked with nonprofit groups to collect and deliver thousands of absentee ballots, often during wee-hour operations, to temporary voting drop boxes distributed around the state during the pandemic.

The group informed the secretary its evidence included video footage from surveillance cameras placed by counties outside the drop boxes as well as geolocation data for the cell phones of more than 200 activists seen on the tapes purportedly showing the dates and times of ballot drop-offs, according to documents reviewed by Just the News.

The group also said it interviewed a Georgia man who admitted he was paid thousands of dollars to harvest ballots in the Atlanta metropolitan area during the November election and the lead-up to Jan. 5, 2021 runoff for Georgia's two U.S. Senate seats, which were both captured by Democrats and ended GOP control of Congress. The group has yet to identify the cooperating witness to state authorities, referring to him in the complaint simply as John Doe.

The group does not allege the ballots delivered by couriers were fraudulent. Nonetheless, lawful ballots delivered by third-parties to drop boxes would run afoul of Georgia's law.

Raffensperger confirmed in an interview aired Tuesday on the John Solomon Reports podcast that his office has deemed the allegations credible enough to open an investigation and possibly seek subpoenas from the State Election Board to secure evidence.

"We do have some information," Raffensperger said. "And we are going to investigate that. We did deploy drop boxes that were under 24/7 surveillance, and because they were then that really, you know, can indicate who dropped that information off, and we're really just going through that."

Catherine Engelbrecht, the longtime head of True the Vote, declined to comment Tuesday, saying she wanted to let the Georgia investigation take its course.

The secretary of state's office did not review video footage from the drop boxes after the 2020 election but a statistical analysis from the federally funded research center Mitre Labs found "no suspicious indicators of ballot harvesting," Raffensperger said.

That said, the allegation a specific individual engaged in illegal harvesting warrants investigation, he added.

The announcement of the harvesting probe comes nearly a year after Raffensperger rebuffed Trump's claims of widespread fraud in the November election and declared on "60 Minutes" that Georgia had a mostly secure and fair election.

Many of the headline-grabbing allegations made by Trump advocates in Georgia in the frenzied days after the November election have been dismissed after investigations. For instance, claims were made that thousands of dead voters cast ballots, but a final tally found only four ballots statewide were cast in the names of deceased.

Also, video footage surfaced that led some to claim suitcases of fake ballots were pulled out from under a table in the Atlanta vote-counting center. In fact, the ballots were lawful absentee ballots cast by real voters.

Raffensperger's office, however, has admitted that vote-counting in the state's largest county of Fulton, where Atlanta is located, suffered from widespread mismanagement and irregularities in 2020 — and for many years earlier — though the problems were not widespread enough to overcome Biden's 12,000-vote margin of victory.

Raffensperger and the State Elections Board have since taken dramatic steps under Georgia's new election integrity law to put Fulton County elections in state receivership, which may end up leaving the state, and not local officials, to administer the county's elections in 2022 and beyond. Most of Fulton's top election officials have departed since the 2020 elections. A final recommendation on a state takeover of the county's election administration is due later this month, Raffensperger said.

"For the first time, if we have a county that continuously fails like we do in Georgia, it's called Fulton County, that we have accountability measure that we can come in, and if they don't improve, then you can actually replace that county election board," he explained in the interview. "And then they'll hire a new election director to fix the process."

Raffensperger's decision to investigate the allegations and secure the video and phone evidence puts him at odds with Georgia's governor, fellow Republican Brian Kemp, who received a briefing last spring from True the Vote on its harvesting allegations about but did not take the matter further after True the Vote did not volunteer the names of suspected ballot traffickers.

Kemp referred the matter to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, which did not seek subpoenas to try to secure the video surveillance, phone data or suspected names from True the Vote using a subpoena.

The harvesting probe is the latest twist in a remarkable election saga in Georgia, which rejected allegations of widespread fraud but acknowledged mismanagement in Fulton County. The Georgia Legislature then reformed its election laws in the aftermath of the 2020 election. Now, it must grapple with the question of whether some voting activists cheated by gathering lawful ballots in an unlawful manner.

Raffensperger's team received an overview of the evidence from True the Vote in the fall, got a formal complaint on Nov. 30 and chose, unlike Kemp, to run the information to ground with a full-scale probe, according to officials briefed on Raffensperger's plans.

True the Vote's complaint offered Raffensperger's office access to what are characterized as detailed phone records and surveillance video it said would show as many as 242 people repeatedly made trips to the drop boxes to deliver ballots in what it described as a mass "ballot trafficking operation." The aspect of the complaint that the secretary's office believed merited attention was the allegation the group had spoken to a man who admitted he and others engaged in ballot harvesting.

Using a tactic increasingly used by the FBI and the intelligence community to solve crimes or national security threats, the group said it bought commercially available geospatial mobile device data showing the locations of suspected ballot harvesters' cell phones in the vicinity of the ballot drop boxes at the times people appeared on the surveillance footage stuffing multiple ballots into a drop box.

Kevin Brock, the FBI's former intelligence chief, said mobile device data that identifies a smartphone’s location is readily available and can be a useful investigative tool. “More than a few companies aggregate data that is linked to certain apps on a smartphone. When users download an app, they agree to conditions that allow companies to track a smartphone’s location. Most of this data is resold to advertisers, but when someone engages in illegal activity it can be subject to subpoenas and other court ordered process as well," he explained.

The phone data bought by True the Vote overlaid with video suggested 242 people engaged in a total of 5,662 ballot drops, an average of 23 runs per alleged harvester, the group alleged in the complaint.

The group told Raffensperger's office the video surveillance — though sometimes grainy and distant — showed numerous instances of people stuffing large numbers of ballots into the boxes, some with so many ballots in hand that some of the envelopes dropped to the ground. Some people were allegedly observed taking pictures of themselves at the boxes after delivering ballots, an action the group said may have been required to receive payments.

The group said many of the alleged drops — more than 40% of those observed on tape — occurred between the hours of midnight and 5 a.m., when most Georgians were asleep.

The group also said in its complaint it temporarily secured the cooperation of one person, identified in the complaint as John Doe, who admitted he participated in extensive ballot harvesting during the November 2020 election and Jan. 5 runoffs and was paid $10 for each ballot he collected from a voter and delivered to a box. The man did not appear to understand his harvesting activities were illegal, but his participation was verified by his repeated appearance on the surveillance tapes, the group said.

"John Doe described a network of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that worked together to facilitate a ballot trafficking scheme in Georgia," the group said in its complaint.

"John Doe's assignment included collecting ballots, both from voters in targeted neighborhoods and from NGOs that had their own ballot collection processes, delivering those ballots to other NGOs, picking up designated ballot bundles from the same group of NGOs, and depositing ballots into drop boxes spanning six counties in the metro Atlanta area," the group added.

"Each drop box delivery would typically include between 5 to 20 ballots," the complaint alleged. "John Doe described a payment validation process which involved taking cell phone pictures of the drop box where ballots were deposited."

The group's complaint did not identify John Doe by name, the nonprofits involved or other participants. Raffensperger's office is expected to use subpoenas to secure that specific information as part of the probe, officials said.

The harvesting allegations also are likely to refocus attention on the decision by Georgia and other states to distribute mobile drop boxes to collect ballots for the first time in the 2020 election as voters struggled with the pandemic and fears of voting in person.

Some critics have wrongly suggested Raffensperger created the use of drop boxes in Georgia out of whole cloth as part of a consent decree he signed with Democratic voting activist Stacey Abrams and other advocates.

In fact, Georgia's law for years permitted counties to deploy absentee ballot drop boxes, but none did. "The board of registrars may establish additional sites … for the purpose of receiving absentee ballots," the existing law stated.

When liberal activists pressed in 2020 to get the boxes deployed, Raffensperger used the consent decree to add some protection, such as a requirement that they be covered by surveillance cameras.

Ironically, it is that protection that gave rise to the evidence at the heart of True the Vote's complaint.

Israel’s Elbit Gets $53 Million From UAE Air Force for Systems Defending Against Anti-Air Missiles

The Emirati government said it signed the 2020 Abraham Accords with Israel out of a desire to stop the annexation of Palestinian land in the West Bank, but since the deal happened, it has gotten several lucrative military and trade deals from Israel and the US.

Elbit Systems, a defense electronics company based in Haifa, Israel, announced on Monday that it had been awarded a $53 million deal to supply Direct Infrared Countermeasures (DIRCM) and airborne electronic warfare systems for Airbus A330 aerial refueling tankers used by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Air Force over the next five years.

The work will include installing several J-MUSIC turrets on each aircraft, which carry small lasers for frustrating the targeting systems of heat-seeking anti-air missiles, such as those fired by man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS) such as the US-made Stinger and the Russian-made Strela-2. Elbit will also install a passive detection system on the aircraft.

The UAE has three such aircraft and two more on order, according to an Airbus release from November, which notes delivery is expected in 2024.

The groundwork for the deal was laid in November at the Dubai Air Show, when Elbit established a separate subsidiary in Dubai, saying it “will seek to foster a long-term cooperation” with the UAE, which agreed to normalize relations with Israel in August 2020 in a deal overseen by the United States.

“The Abraham Accords provide a sound basis for business collaborations in the region,” Elbit’s executive vice president for international marketing and business development, Ran Kril, said at the time.

“The UAE and other countries in the region are important new markets for Elbit Systems. We believe that our broad portfolio of solutions positions us well to address the needs and opportunities in this region.”

Israel also made peace with Bahrain in 2020, but is recognized by no other country in the region, as the Arab League pledged in 1967 not to negotiate with Israel until it withdraws to its borders prior to the 1967 Six-Day War.

At the same time, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) announced a partnership with Emirati defense conglomerate EDGE to create an advanced modular unmanned vessel for the UAE that would be able to detect and attack submarines. The two companies also signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a maintenance center for IAI electro-optical systems in the UAE.

Since 2015, the UAE has been engaged in the catastrophic war in Yemen against the Houthi movement as part of a Saudi-led coalition. The coalition’s intense bombing campaigns and blockade of the country have greatly contributed to the humanitarian crisis, killed 377,000, according to United Nations estimates. Military equipment sold to the UAE and Saudi Arabia has also been spotted in the hands of allied Yemeni militias fighting the Houthis, including al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula*.

Abu Dhabi mostly pulled out of the war in 2019, but some troops reportedly remain in the country. Western countries have continued selling them weapons regardless, including a French deal agreed to last month for $19 billion in Rafale fighter jets.

The UAE is host to three US military bases in Jebel Ali, Fujairah, and al-Dhafra, the latter of which hosts a variety of US spy planes and aerial tankers. While likely to side against Iran in the event of a regional war, the UAE’s national security adviser, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed, made a rare trip to Tehran last month, pledging a desire for regional peace.

Third Former GlaxoSmithKline Scientist Pleads Guilty to Stealing Trade Secrets to Benefit Chinese Pharma Company

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | Monday, January 3, 2022

PHILADELPHIA – United States Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams announced that Lucy Xi, 44, formerly a resident of Malvern, PA, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to steal trade secrets from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) to benefit a Chinese pharmaceutical company named Renopharma.

Lucy Xi’s co-defendants, Yu Xue, Tao Li and Yan Mei, established Renopharma supposedly to research and develop anti-cancer drugs. In reality, though, the company was used as a repository of information stolen from GSK. Renopharma received financial support and subsidies from the government of China. At the time, Lucy Xi (who was married to Yan Mei) and Yu Xue were employed as a scientists at a GSK facility in Upper Merion, PA, which worked on developing biopharmaceutical products. These products typically cost in excess of $1 billion to research and develop.

In January 2015, Lucy Xi sent Yan Mei a GSK document which contained confidential and trade secret data and information. The document provided a summary of GSK research into monoclonal antibodies at that time. In the body of the e-mail, Lucy Xi wrote, “You need to understand it very well. It will help you in your future business [RENOPHARMA].”

Yu Xue, her sister, Tian Xue, and Tao Li have all pleaded guilty for their roles in this conspiracy. Yan Mei is a fugitive who currently resides in China.

“This defendant illegally stole trade secrets to benefit her husband’s company, which was financed by the Chinese government,” said U.S. Attorney Williams. “The lifeblood of companies like GSK is its intellectual property, and when that property is stolen and transferred to a foreign country, it threatens thousands of American jobs and jeopardizes the strategic benefits brought about through research and development. Such criminal behavior must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

“Pharmaceutical firms like GSK invest staggering amounts of time and money to develop new medications and bring them to market,” said Jacqueline Maguire, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Philadelphia Division. “When individuals steal valuable trade secrets concerning one of these drugs, it’s a threat both to that firm and beyond. After all, innovation like this propels the U.S. economy. The FBI is committed to enforcing laws that protect the nation’s businesses from such theft. We will not permit American research and development to be scavenged for the benefit of other companies or countries.”

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Robert J. Livermore and J. Jeanette Kang.

The vaccine was implicated in 93% of the deaths in the patients they examined. What's troubling is the coroner didn't implicate the vaccine in any of those deaths.

he vaccines are bad news. Fifteen bodies were examined (all died from 7 days to 6 months after vaccination; ages 28 to 95). The coroner or the public prosecutor didn’t associate the vaccine as the cause of death in any of the cases. However, further examination revealed that the vaccine was implicated in the deaths of 14 of the 15 cases. The most attacked organ was the heart (in all of the people who died), but other organs were attacked as well. The implications are potentially enormous resulting in millions of deaths. The vaccines should be immediately halted.

No need to worry. It is doubtful that anything will happen because the work wasn’t published in a peer-reviewed journal so will be ignored by the scientific community. That’s just the way it works.

Former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said text messages he was sent by Fox News opinion hosts amid the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol have been "weaponized" in an attempt to cast former President Trump in a negative light.

“They’ve got reports of text messages they say that you gave them that show Fox hosts saying, ‘Hey, you gotta get this under control, Trump needs to say something. Don Jr. saying something,’ ” a host on conservative news network Newsmax said to Meadows on Monday night after the select congressional committee investigating the Capitol riot revealed the texts.

“What’s your response to all this tonight?”

Meadows said he has tried to be "very transparent and accommodating" with the committee.

"We've tried very hard, in a very transparent and accommodating way, to share nonprivileged information," Meadows said. "And what we found out tonight is that not only did that just get disregarded, but then they tried to weaponize text messages, selectively leaked them, to put out a narrative, quite frankly, that the president didn't act."

The committee on Monday revealed a number of text messages from Fox News hosts Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and Brian Kilmeade sent to Meadows on Jan. 6 begging him to get the president to do something to stop the attack.

“Mark, president needs to tell people in the Capitol to go home. This is hurting all of us. He is destroying his legacy,” Ingraham texted Meadows, according to phone records obtained by the committee.

Kilmeade, in his own text message to Meadows, told him the attack was "destroying everything you have accomplished.”

None of the three hosts outed by the committee as having texted Meadows on Jan. 6 acknowledged their messages to the former chief of staff during their daily shows on Monday and Tuesday morning.

Meadows did appear on Hannity's program, asserting that Trump "acted quickly" to quell the violence that broke out at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

Newsmax, which carries a decidedly smaller audience than Fox, has emerged as an alternative conservative news network for viewers loyal to Trump as the former president and his allies have criticized the network, and other outlets in the mainstream press for debunking his false claims about election integrity during and after the 2020 presidential contest.

"A lot of conservative media runs away from this story," host Rob Schmitt said while interviewing Meadows on Monday. "We're not afraid of it here. I think it's a grossly overexaggerated story. I also think it was a very bad day for this country. I don't think it was anywhere near as bad as the Democrats think."
