Cases of COVID-19 among children in New York are leading to an “uptick” in hospitalizations

• Gov. Kathy Hochul and Health Commissioner Dr. Mary Bassett said Monday.

“On Friday, the health department released a communication to health workers, principally pediatricians, called a ‘health alert,'” said Bassett. “It pointed out that we’d observed an uptick in pediatric admissions concentrated in the New York City area, where there was an increase of about four fold.”

The numbers still don’t point to an “epidemic” of the virus among children, Bassett said. The statistics, according to her, include children who tested positive before entering the hospital and some after they were already admitted.

LA hospital sparks outrage after DUMPING bodies of 19 COVID patients outside in the rain for HOURS

A California hospital has come under fire after leaving the dead bodies of nearly 20 COVID-19 patients lying in the rain for several days until security guards could eventually move them to a refrigerated morgue.

Wet body bags of victims are seen stacked outside the hospital, owned by Pipeline Health System, in a video taken by CBSLA. The footage shows the soaking wet body bags being stacked outside the memorial hospital in Gardena, Los Angeles. Employees can also be seen in the video rearranging the body bags of 19 deceased COVID-19 patients that are being transported to a mobile freezer in the parking lot of the hospital.

As gross as that is, this quote “ Herrera spoke to CBSLA. He told the news outlet that, looking at the photos, ‘I could see a lot of bodily fluids, and right there the pathogens- that can expose security guards and whomever walks in there. A body should never be there for more than two weeks.’”

..shows that it’s a scam. If “covid” was as deadly as claimed, they’d be handled wearing biohazard suits and probably immediate cremated or buried to minimize spread.

I saw the same story on NYPost.com. It’s probably true and, if so, very macabre to say the least.

On another note, my whole family with the exception of my 16 yo son has tested positive for COVID this week. We’re all pretty miserable but I think we’ll be alright. I’ve been talking one 12mg Ivermectin and one 400mg HCQ per day in addition to a steroid taper and lots of supplements. So far last night and this AM have been the worst. I’m hoping it’ll be better from here on out. Haven’t been this sick in a while tbh.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell is going to appeal her conviction https://www.reuters.com/world/us/maxwell-jury-resume-deliberations-after-judge-warns-omicron-risk-2021-12-29 for setting up teenage girls to have sexual encounters with financier Jeffrey Epstein, but experts said she will struggle to clear the high legal bar needed to overturn the verdict.

U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan dealt several blows to the defense during the month-long trial that ended on Wednesday, including denying a request to have some witnesses testify anonymously and another to block lawyers for two of the accusers from taking the stand.

Legal experts said Maxwell's lawyers are likely to cite such rulings in any appeal of her conviction on five of six counts, including sex trafficking, by a jury in federal court in Manhattan.

But to succeed, her lawyers would have to show that Nathan violated federal rules of evidence or abused her discretion.

"We have already started working on the appeal, and we are confident that she will be vindicated," Maxwell's lawyer Bobbi Sternheim told reporters on Wednesday, without going into specific legal grounds.

Even if an appellate court agreed that Nathan made a mistake, Maxwell's lawyers would need to show that it mattered to the outcome of the case. A "harmless error" is not enough to overturn a conviction, according to Bennett Gershman, a professor at Pace Law School.

"It's a very heavy burden," Gershman said, adding that federal appellate courts tend to defer to trial judges.

An avenue of appeal for the defense might be to argue that the testimony of Kate, one of the accusers, was improperly admitted.

While described in the indictment as a victim, Nathan instructed the jury that Kate was actually over the age of consent at the time of her alleged encounters with Epstein. However, Nathan said the jury could still consider her testimony if they found it useful.

"While the court limited that testimony, and gave the jury an appropriate limiting instruction, the defense may continue to argue that Kate's testimony should have been excluded," said Sarah Krissoff, a partner at the Day Pitney law firm and a former federal prosecutor.

The defense also objected to Nathan's instruction to the jury that they could find Maxwell guilty if she deliberately ignored evidence of Epstein's wrongdoing, a legal concept known as "conscious avoidance."

Maxwell's lawyers argued that prosecutors' theory of the case was that Maxwell was an active participant, not a mere bystander, and accused prosecutors of trying to "have it both ways."

Nathan ultimately allowed the instruction after noting that the defense itself had sought to show during opening statements and cross-examination of witnesses that Maxwell was unaware of Epstein's behavior.

"Maxwell will have an uphill battle challenging the conscious avoidance charge, as the government presented a factual basis for such a charge," Krissoff said.

Maxwell's lawyers may also raise on appeal Nathan's ruling preventing three defense witnesses from testifying anonymously.

Three of Maxwell's four accusers testified under pseudonyms or used only their first names to protect their privacy as victims of sexual abuse.

But Nathan said privacy concerns did not apply to the defense witnesses because none of them intended to testify about sensitive personal topics or sexual conduct.

Gershman said that any appeal would be hampered by the fact that Maxwell's lawyers waited until near the end of the trial to ask for anonymity.

"If they felt this was a serious concern, they should have raised this before the trial," he said.

Hanks’ lawsuit raises a series of objections to the secretary of state’s election procedures, including Griswold’s adoption of emergency rules prohibiting what she called “sham election audits” like the one that took place earlier this year in Arizona. That effort, conducted by Florida-based firm Cyber Ninjas at the request of GOP lawmakers, has been widely criticized as undermining confidence in the state’s election system while uncovering no credible evidence of fraud.

Colorado law already requires counties to conduct bipartisan risk-limiting audits, which are designed to provide a statistically high degree of confidence in election results.

Two Republican county clerks, Merlin Klotz of Douglas County and Dallas Schroeder of Elbert County, have joined Hanks as plaintiffs in the lawsuit, along with two Rio Blanco County commissioners, Gary Moyer and Jeff Rector, and Park County Commissioner Amy Mitchell.

Hanks, a first-term lawmaker who announced his candidacy for the Senate seat held by Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet in October, has become one of the state’s most prominent boosters of debunked conspiracy theories about the 2020 election. He was present at a rally in support of former President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6, and admitted to crossing police lines during the assault by pro-Trump rioters on the U.S. Capitol.

Earlier this month, Hanks spoke at a “Citizen’s Forum” hosted by an election-denial group in Colorado Springs, at which he laid out a six-point plan for a total overhaul of election procedures in Colorado, beginning with “local-controlled, clean voter rolls” and the abolition of the mail ballot system.

“We are in a moment now where we are going to have to be aggressive,” he told the audience, according to audio of the event obtained by Newsline.

Griswold’s office said that in addition to failing to show that the new audit rules were invalid, other sections of Hanks’ lawsuit rest on false allegations relating to election record-keeping and the accreditation of voting systems.

Prince Andrew, Mr Clinton and others mentioned in the directory have denied all accusations they were involved in any alleged sexual abuse.

Several entries were mentioned during the prosecution case and released as an exhibit under seal, meaning only jurors and attorneys could view them.

In a letter obtained by The Telegraph, Damian Williams, a US attorney to Judge Nathan, wrote: “It is not being offered for the truth of the matters asserted therein, and you may not consider it for that purpose.

“Rather, you may consider it only to the extent you believe it is relevant to show a link, if any, between Ms Maxwell and the names and phone numbers listed and how, if at all, the information was organised.”

Ms Maxwell, 59, is charged with six counts of sex trafficking, enticement and abuse of a minor. She has strongly denied all of the charges.

Epstein killed himself in prison in 2019 aged 66 while awaiting his own sex trafficking trial.
