Mike Pompeo appeared at the Zionist Organization of America’s annual gala two Sundays ago, and made clear to attendees that he prioritizes the concerns of Israel above all U.S. policy issues.

Pompeo claimed there is “no more important task of the secretary of state than standing for Israel,” and stated “I believe strongly in our support for Israel because of our Judeo-Christian heritage, and I’m proud of the tough choices we made to support Israel.”

“Is there really any legal truth to the accusation that Israel is occupying Palestinian land? You all know the answer is absolutely not,” Pompeo declared.

“We know what happens when the world turns its back on Israel and her people,” Pompeo continued. “I worry this is happening more and more today.”

The former CIA and State Department official went on to claim that antisemitism “is on the rise and it’s up to us to speak out against it,” and pontificated, “It’s because I’m a champion of religious freedom that I’m here today to tell you that the United States must stand with the Jewish people and Israel in the fight against the world’s oldest bigotry: antisemitism.”

“Like the modern state of Israel, the United States is a country born from righteous aspirations,” Pompeo stated, appearing to place more emphasis on the importance of israel than the country under which he served as Secretary of State.

Pompeo recently made the bizarre claim that Chinese president Xi Jinping is holding “over a million Americans in concentration camps.”

During an appearance on Fox’s Sunday Morning Futures, Pompeo said, “No, I would have recommended to the President were I Secretary of State today that we not send our athletes into this terribly difficult place, where they’re gonna be forced to be silent, to not speak as Americans.”

“Or Xi Jinping will be put on stage or lauded as a great leader while he’s holding over a million Americans in concentration camps,” Pompeo continued.

“I don’t think we should be participating, I don’t think the IOC, the Olympic Committee should have allowed Xi Jinping to host these games,” Pompeo said of the planned 2022 Olympics in Beijing.

She also posted a link to a story published by 19th News that also claimed "women's faces will appear on quarters for the first time" in 2022. Journalist Alexa Mikhail amplified the statement, writing, "It's FINALLY happening in 2022!"

Fact Check: That's false. The face of Helen Keller, a woman, was featured on the Alabama state quarter issued in March 2003. That wasn't even the first quarter to feature a real woman. More than a century earlier, Queen Isabella of Spain appeared on a special commemorative quarter released in 1893.

Clinton wasn't just wrong. She was reckless. Spreading disinformation on social media platforms not only undermines public trust in our most cherished institutions, it threatens to erode our faith in democracy itself. Clinton's failure to find success in politics is no excuse for this brazen assault on the truth.

STOP FEDERAL VACCINE DATABASE BILL H.R. 550

Members of Congress are seeking to pass H.R. 550, which would enable the federal government to track Americans’ vaccination status, infringing upon their privacy.

H.R. 550, the Immunization Infrastructure Modernization Act of 2021, is sponsored by Rep. Ann Kuster D-NH and cosponsored by 14 representatives. The bill passed the House by a 294-130 vote on November 30, 2021, and it is currently pending in the Senate.

If enacted, H.R. 550 would spend $400 million for “immunization system data modernization and expansion,” and to “[expand] CDC and [state and local] Public Health Department Capabilities.”

Specifically, H.R. 550 would require the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) to create national standards for vaccine database records — it authorizes the use of grants to pressure state and local officials to adopt these standards. Additionally, the bill requires that states make their databases accessible to the federal government, “non-governmental entities,” and “other persons.”

These state vaccine databases — called immunization information systems (IIS) — that the federal government would have access to and that would be expanded under H.R. 550, “remind patients when they are due for a recommended vaccine,” among other functions. H.R. 550 includes other provisions that empower the federal government and infringe upon Americans’ privacy.

Additionally, H.R. 550 allows the HHS to use fascist-style public-private partnerships to implement the bill’s provisions.

H.R. 550 represents a serious erosion of medical privacy and yet another socialist, unconstitutional enlargement of federal power. First and foremost, the U.S. Constitution does not delegate any public health-related powers to the federal government. The only powers that Congress has are specifically enumerated in Article I, Section 8. Under the 10th Amendment, these powers are reserved to the states and the people.

Additionally, H.R. 550 opens the door to a federal vaccine database and, by extension, the coercion and punishment of those who do not abide by the government’s wishes. Although the bill’s sponsors and supporters claim that the bill has “guardrails” against government tracking, Biden’s own HHS secretary, Xavier Becerra, has claimed that it is “absolutely the government’s business” to know who has received the COVID shot.

Life-extending prostate drug is ruled out for NHS use as officials deem it's not worth the money

A life-extending prostate cancer drug has been rejected for use on the NHS after officials ruled it is not worth the money.

The innovative drug is the first ‘precision treatment’ for the disease, which treats men based on the genetic make-up of their cancer.

It has already been approved for use in Scotland but will not be available to men in England and Wales.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (Nice) said evidence on the benefits of olaparib is uncertain and approving it would not be a good use of NHS funds.

The drug has a list price of £2,317.50 per pack of 56 tablets - enough for 14 days use - and an average course of treatment costs £37,491.

The 2019 PROfound trial found that men treated with olaparib lived 7.4 months before their cancer progressed, compared with 3.6 months when they received ‘one size fits all’ hormonal treatments.

Dr Matthew Hobbs, of Prostate Cancer UK, said the charity was ‘extremely disappointed’ but was working with Nice on the issues raised.

Johann De Bono, professor of experimental cancer medicine at the ICR and leader of the PROfound trial, said: ‘Olaparib is a precision drug that can extend life for men with some mutations in their tumours while sparing them the side-effects of chemotherapy.

‘I was delighted when olaparib was approved for NHS patients in Scotland earlier this year - and it’s disappointing that this decision means their counterparts in England and Wales will miss out on such a valuable new treatment option.

‘It’s an example of the barriers that exist to making innovative drugs available at prices that the NHS can afford and is going to result in postcode prescribing across the UK.

Nice looked at people who had already had treatment with the hormone therapies abiraterone or enzalutamide.

The current treatment for prostate cancer that has spread and no longer responds to hormone therapy is chemotherapy with docetaxel, cabazitaxel or radium-223 dichloride.

Nice said that clinical trial evidence shows that people taking olaparib have more time before their disease gets worse and live longer overall than people having retreatment with abiraterone or enzalutamide.

However, it said retreatment with abiraterone or enzalutamide is not considered effective and is not standard care in the NHS.

The Daily Record, a highly influential Scotland newspaper asked its readers if the country should follow Australia’s lead and began introducing COVID internment camps.

In a Facebook post on Daily Record’s official page, they said, “Australians are being detained in Covid internment camps for 14 days if they test positive or are suspected positive. Should we follow their lead?”

The majority of individuals who responded were outraged. One user said, “What a disgrace of a question??? Surely the obvious answer to should there be INTERNMENT CAMPS always be a resounding NO!!!!!”

Another replied, “This headline is an all time low.”

One user answered, “Yes. We need protection from anyone who thinks this is a good idea. Put them there and some people at this news rag can lead the way.”

One individual replied, “That a national newspaper can consider such a question to be worthy of debate shows how far removed as a society we are now from having basic respect for human rights and liberty. To consider sending people to prison for a positive test which may not even be accurate. This is a scary echo of Germany in 1930’s.”

In December, three individuals escaped an Australian quarantine camp and were arrested. They scaled a fence to break out of the facility and were found after a manhunt was sent out for them.

CDC urges Covid-19 booster shots for children as young as 12

Today, CDC is endorsing the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ (ACIP) recommendation to expand eligibility of booster doses to those 12 to 15 years old. CDC now recommends that adolescents age 12 to 17 years old should receive a booster shot 5 months after their initial Pfizer-BioNTech vaccination series.

Data show that COVID-19 boosters help broaden and strengthen protection against Omicron and other SARS-CoV-2 variants. ACIP reviewed the available safety data following the administration of over 25 million vaccine doses in adolescents; COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective.

At this time, only the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is authorized and recommended for adolescents aged 12-17.

UNSC Likely to Discuss Sudan as Military Coup Gov Struggles to Replace Resigned PM Hamdok

When Abdallah Hamdok resigned as Sudan’s prime minister on Sunday, it left the country’s ruling military government in a bind, as he had been the civilian figurehead legitimizing the October 25 coup. However, simply appointing another civilian might not be so simple.

“My acceptance of the assignment to the position of prime minister was on the basis of a political consensus between the civilian and military components, which I had preached as a unique Sudanese model,” Hamdok said on Sunday as he announced his resignation on state television. “But it did not survive with the same degree of commitment and harmony with which it began.”

Hamdok had been appointed in 2019 to head the joint civilian-military Sovereign Council established after a popular uprising overthrew longtime military leader Omar al-Bashir. The council reflected the still-strong power of the military, which was led by men who had been close to Bashir and were reluctant to see the system change significantly, and the powerful pro-democracy groups that organized millions during months of protests that Bashir’s government had brutally repressed.

On November 21, Hamdok reached an agreement with Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the head of the council after Hamdok had been arrested and placed in house arrest a month earlier, to return to office if he formed a "technocratic" and "non-partisan" Cabinet. In turn, Burhan agreed not to meddle in Hamdok’s appointments - a deal Hamdok said the military had broken, causing him to resign.

However, a senior member of the Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC), one of the most powerful pro-democracy groups, told Axios on Wednesday that the real reason was that Hamdok knew his new cabinet would not be accepted by the protest movement, which already viewed his return to office as a fig leaf disguising military rule.

Burhan can’t simply appoint a new puppet to Hamdok’s office, though: a group of Western powers and the European Union said on Tuesday they “will not support a Prime Minister or government appointed without the involvement of a broad range of civilian stakeholders.”

Some reports have suggested that Burhan has already approached Ibrahim Elbadawi, a former finance minister under Hamdok, to head the government. Elbadawi is the director of the Economic Research Forum think tank in Egypt and has worked in a wide variety of finance positions in Dubai, Nairobi, and at the World Bank.

Nor can the military continue along its path since October of brutally repressing the mass protests without significant penalties, either: hanging over the heads of any government in Khartoum is the billions foreign aid sent to Sudan since Bashir’s ouster, including the $700 million terminated by the US on October 25.

However, some suggested it might still try, using the militant response it’s likely to provoke from the protesters as an excuse to crack down even harder.

“The military wants the streets to lose credibility, so that they can say that they’re putting down a violent insurgency,” Kholood Khair, the managing partner of Khartoum-based think tank Insight Strategy Partners, told Al Jazeera on Wednesday. “They could then call the violence whatever they want. They could stick a label of terrorism on it.”

At least 57 protesters have been killed by security forces since the October 25 coup, and protesters have mounted 11 “March of Millions” demonstrations against the coup in that time.

Also on Wednesday, Mona Julla, Norway's Ambassador to the United Nations and chair of the UN Security Council, said the council was likely to discuss the situation in Sudan next week - its earliest opportunity to do so.
