A new study from the Angus Reid Institute finds a population largely fatigued, frustrated, and anxious - and one-in-three (36%) Canadians saying they are struggling with their mental health.

When asked to summarize their feelings, half (48%) say they've been feeling "fatigued," while two-in-five (40%) say they've been frustrated, and another two-in-five (37%) say they've been feeling anxious. One-in-ten (12%) chose happy, half the number who chose depressed (23%)….

Seven per cent of Canadians say they are "barely getting by" when it comes to their mental health in dealing with the pandemic, more than double the number measured at any point since October 2020.

Three-in-ten (31%) say they or someone in their household had an appointment with a therapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist in the last year. Another three-in-ten (30%) say they've received a prescription to treat a mental health issue in the last 12 months.

You know who to back by whom the media calls “toxic”

As the pandemic’s grip on society is clearly waning, governments at various levels and locales seem to be sorting themselves into two buckets:

1, End all emergency measures and learn to live with COVID

2, Cling to emergency powers and up the ante

Canada is vast country that is run primarily by left-wing liberals who select their PMs from political dynasties in Quebec and who couldn’t pull it off without the support of urban Toronto (the 416).

The corporate media in Canada is largely homogenous, liberal and unabashedly globalist. To them, anything outside of Toronto or Ottawa is “flyover country”. Anything that happens there doesn’t matter unless it’s some issue that can wrapped within a narrative of victimhood to shame the populace into believing their country is a structurally racist, carbon spewing abomination.

In Canada, a pitched ideological battle between the Liberals and Conservatives would be whether the top marginal tax rate should be 53% (where it is now) or 45%. If things got really wild and bare knuckled, maybe Trudeau would come out with a “double-mask” mandate and Erin O’Toole, a third-rate non-entity who has lost two fat-pitch elections, would say “1.5 masks!” Even then he would waffle as soon as some polling data came out.

That’s the political spectrum in Canada, unless you count the NDPs who are even further left than the Liberals. Federally, the NDPs are led by a millionaire socialist.

The Libertarians here are a joke (sorry, but it’s true. I ran for the Libertarian Party federally in 2015 so I get to say that).

Political leaders actually standing up for the civil rights of all Canadians are few and far between: Maxime Bernier federally, running the PPC, and here in Ontario the likes of Randy Hillier and Roman Baber – a couple of MPPs who were jettisoned from #FordNation for resisting the lockdowns and mandates.

When it comes to these rare political voices, and despite rising popular support for them, the corporate media circles the wagons and demonizes them as (what else?) racists, far-right, etc.

Enough Conservative Members of Parliament have signed a letter calling for a review of Erin O’Toole’s leadership that he may have to face a vote in caucus as early as Wednesday, according to a report in the Globe and Mail.

The story, published Monday evening, said that 35 Conservative MPs have signalled their desire for a vote in a letter to the party’s caucus chair, Scott Reid.

Under the Reform Act, caucus members can trigger a review vote if 20% of them provide written notice. With 119 Conservative MPs, 35 is more than enough to force a vote.

We all remember where we were when the Berlin Wall came down. While it may have seemed that communist rule would go on forever, when the people decided that they had enough suddenly the wall fell. Just like that.

I have watched as the Canada I once respected as a haven for antiwar Americans in the 1960s turned into one of the most repressive countries on earth. I wondered how a freedom-loving people could allow themselves to be abused by these mini-Stalins without a peep.

But then Canada stood up and showed the rest of the world that freedom can triumph over tyranny if the people demand it. As I say, no army can stop an idea whose time has come.

Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau had been basking in his ability to terrorize the population in the name of fighting a virus. He was so confident in his seemingly unlimited power that he felt he could ridicule any Canadian with different views. The prime minister said in a recent interview that unvaccinated Canadians were “extremists,” “misogynists,” and “racists.”

When the Canadian truckers stood up to his tyranny and began their historic convoy to Ottawa, he thought he could continue ridiculing people. The truckers and their supporters were just a “small fringe minority” who hold “unacceptable views,” he confidently claimed. For Trudeau, love of liberty is just an “unacceptable view.”

Less than a week later, as tens of thousands of trucks began entering the capital with millions of supporters behind them, the “brave” Canadian prime minister had fled the city and shuffled off to an undisclosed location. Continue…

According to a fundraiser page, Om was in perfect health till he received the booster shot. It started as nausea, deteriorated quickly, and turned into heart failure on the morning of Jan 15th.

Ottawa Police Chief Peter Sloly told reporters on Monday that “all options are on the table,” including “enforcement,” to end an ongoing protest led by truckers in the Canadian capital against the country’s onerous anti-coronavirus mandates that Sloly himself admitted had led to no injuries or violence.

“It could have led to significant and severe injuries, and it could have led to the loss of life. None of that has occurred over the last four days,” Sloly said, according to Canada’s CTV, while asserting that police would act by any means necessary to end the event.

Sloly’s remarks follow a bizarre speech by far-left Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau – from an undisclosed location in which he is allegedly recovering from a Chinese coronavirus infection – in which he condemned the protesters as wearing “tinfoil hats,” compared them unfavorably to violent “Black Lives Matter” protests, and equated receiving coronavirus vaccine products to “what being Canadian is.”

Duff Conacher of Democracy Watch says he is still waiting for the “open by default” government the Trudeau Liberals promised prior to their election in 2015.

“The Trudeau government usually misleads in their initial response, and then when it’s pointed out that they’re lying to voters, they then come up with lame excuses for delaying action or solving whatever the problem is.

“And then [they] just don’t do anything again until the media highlights, again, that the problem still exists and hasn’t been solved. And that’s the pattern since they were elected in 2015,” Conacher said in an interview.

On Dec. 22, 2021, the Treasury Board released the first interim report on the federal government’s public consultations on its access to information legislation. Conacher says the government’s own report clearly showed that Canadians want a wider body of information made available—and sooner.

“The public, citizen groups, and experts have loudly and clearly called once again, as they have for decades, for key changes to close loopholes in the federal access to information law, and [to] strengthen enforcement,” Conacher said in a statement.

“The federal access to information law is so full of loopholes that it really is just a guide to keeping information secret that the public has a right to know.”

The Epoch Times contacted the Treasury Board seeking comment but didn’t hear back by publication time.

OTTAWA—The federal government introduced legislation on Monday to continue providing as many rapid tests as possible to the provinces and territories.

Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos introduced the bill in the House of Commons on MPs’ first day back after a six-week break.

The bill would give Health Canada the authority to purchase and distribute across the country up to $2.5 billion worth of COVID-19 rapid tests, according to a statement from the department.

“As COVID-19 remains a global threat, driven by the highly transmissible Omicron variant, the demand for rapid tests has increased worldwide,” said Duclos in the statement, adding that rapid tests are an important part of the government’s strategy for keeping Canadians safe.

Liberal House leader Mark Holland said at a news conference Monday that Bill C-10 would accelerate the funding and provision of rapid tests.
