Hillsong founder Brian Houston drops bombshell annoucement on congregation

The pastor of the mega church, who is facing allegations he concealed his father’s child sexual abuse, gave his worshippers some surprise news.

Hillsong founder Brian Houston dropped a bombshell on his worshippers announcing he was stepping aside from all church activities while he defends allegations he concealed his father’s child sexual abuse.

The pastor for the powerful evangelical church was charged in October last year with one count of concealing the serious indictable offence of another person.

Police allege Mr Houston knew from September 1999 that his father Frank Houston had indecently assaulted a male in 1970.

But on Sunday, Mr Houston told the church’s congregation that the criminal charge came as a “complete shock” and he intends to “vigorously defend” it but this meant some changes.

He revealed to his followers his decision to immediately step down from his current duties as part of the church leadership.

“In December during our annual board retreat, Hillsong’s external legal counsel gave the board advice regarding the current charge I’m facing and that it would be best practice for me to step aside completely from church leadership during the court proceedings,” he told the congregation on Sunday morning.

“So its likely to be drawn out and take up most of 2022, especially considering the backlog in courts exacerbated by the Covid pandemic. And along with this the board and I have been having detailed discussions around requirements for leadership and we’ve talked about the effects of the situation with my father, going back many years up to the current legal case, and the impact that this has had on me emotionally.

“So the result is Hillsong’s global board feel it’s in my and the church’s best interest for this to happen, so I’ve agreed to step aside from all ministry responsibilities until the end of the year.”

Chevron posts $5.1 billion for fourth quarter, its best earnings in nearly 10 years

Company says it is moving toward “lower carbon future."

Oil company Chevron this week posted strong gains for the fourth quarter of 2021, its best-earning quarter in nearly a decade as the company vows to continue pursuing green energy technologies.

The company said in a press release that it had earned $5.1 billion in the last three months of 2021, a figure which brought its full-year earnings to just over $15 billion. The quarterly figure is the highest the company has posted since 2008.

Company Chairman and CEO Mike Wirth in the press release touted what he said was the company’s commitment to lower-carbon green energies.

“In 2021, we delivered record free cash flow and accelerated our progress towards a lower carbon future,” Wirth said.

“We’re an even better company than we were just a few years ago,” he continued. “We’re more capital and cost efficient, enabling us to return more cash to shareholders.”

The high profits were driven in large part by surging oil prices: Costs of oil have jumped significantly since the start of the COVID pandemic in early 2020, standing at around $80 a barrel at the beginning of 2022.

Pennsylvania’s Secretary of State Threatens to Decertify Dominion Voting Machines if Machines Are Investigated in Fulton County – But Investigation is of Decertified Machines!

Pennsylvania’s Secretary of State and Dominion Voting Machines don’t want cyber and IT experts to investigate their machines in Fulton County. They threaten to decertify the machines if they are investigated. The problem is they already decertified these machines.

We’ve reported on the proposed investigation into Fulton County, Pennsylvania’s voting machines that have been halted by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court due to a request from the Pennsylvania Secretary of State and Dominion Voting Machines. These two entities then provided a nearly 700-page document with their reasons for why the Fulton County investigation should be stopped.

Pennsylvania Senate President Pro Tempore Jacob Corman, III, and Senator Cris Dush stepped in and requested that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court end the corrupt PA Secretary of State’s (SoS’s) emergency application to stay.

The second argument from the Senators (p. 5) is that the SoS believes that she can decertify machines if the voting machines are inspected but these machines have already been decertified by the SoS.

Second, the Secretary makes much of Directive 1 of 2021, whereby the Department of State arrogated to itself the power to control what counties can do with electronic voting machines. But Directive 1, and the supposed problem it is designed to solve, isn’t applicable to Senator Dush’s request. Directive 1 prohibits counties from making their voting machines accessible to third parties for inspection, and provides that violation of a county’s nondisclosure obligation will result in the machine’s decertification – and the Department is absolved of any obligation to reimburse the county for the cost of new machines to replace those that were decertified. That concern is inapplicable to this situation, however. Here, Senator Dush has asked to image the hard drives of already decertified voting machines that will not be used in future elections. Thus, the Secretary’s assertion that Directive 1 justifies overriding Senator Dush’s request for the hard drive images of already inspected and decertified voting machines is of no note
