Result: you’d get a society full of people readily willing, almost eager even, to surrender precious freedoms in the name of security; a society full of people with no ability to think critically whatsoever.
I admit it: I had my eyes open
I’m thinking acrackheads on mopedsconvoy. That would certainly draw some attention. I’ll chip in a few dollars for the cause. Put my contribution towards getting mopeds for them to use.
If the government ever tries to cut off any one of the following there will be absolute chaos in the streets across the country: alcohol, cigarettes, and/or dope. The police and national guard wouldn’t be able to get it under control.
If Taiwan goes under China’s control we are going to have a huge problem. People assume, because most cheap electronics come from China, that China produces the most semiconductors. However, Taiwan is the global leader in semiconductors. If China gains control we’ll have supply problems like we’ve never seen. We’re already experiencing stalled vehicle production due to a chip shortage. Multiply that problem 100 fold and spread it across all forms of electronics. It would cause huge economic problems in addition to and as a result of the supply problems.
Prohibition didn’t “just” happen, it’s been a while. It didn’t work out too well then and it would be even worse now. We have a degenerate society full of alcoholics and drug addicts. Many if not most of them are caught up in their own little world. A lot of them probably couldn’t tell you who the President and VP are but you get between them and their degeneracy and they’ll snap out of it long enough to wreak havoc and get back to their drug of choice.
I’m in my own little world with my family but I’m not oblivious to what’s going on and my world doesn’t involve drugs or alcohol. It’s nice.
