There is a much deeper story to the Trucker Convoy to Ottawa

And his name is Durham

Convoy To Ottawa was organized by two people

One was Jewish

The other was Métis

But back to Lord Durham

After the 1837 Rebellion he was tasked by the Crown

To investigate and report back on how to manage these provinces

He suggested that it was oligarchic rule that caused the rebellion

And the Crown should instituteResponsible Government

This report led to union of the two Canadas in 1840

Two years after the British Provinces in North America

Were declared aDominionby the Crown,

I.e. 2 years after confederation in 1867

The Métis people began aRebellionagainst the Crown

From 1869 to 1885, almost 20 years

They fought the invasion of their territory,

Then known asthe Northwest

In the same way that Chicago and Northwestern University

Were the gateway to the Northwest in the USA.

In the end the Métis were outnumbered

But their descendants are Canadians with a tradition of rebellion

And most of us are not descended from United Empire Loyalists

We come from all over the world,

And many of us come from countries with a tradition of rebellion

Like Russia where it took the Bolsheviks 6 years to conquer the Empire
