I'm not sure what Portnoy's deal is, but he sure as fuck made certain to put it out there that this was an obvious hit, while distancing himself from Rogan in the process. Weird combination, wouldn't you say?
Why not just run wit the fact that it was all out of context, and also emphasize a bigger point that people no longer let words have power over them any more? Why not just point out the fact that Rogan's use of the word is similar to Carlin's use of it; while maintaining the reason for it is to point out the ridiculousness of letting these words continue to rule our conscious?
Maybe those thoughts are too big for a Portnoy.
