Probable not Wendy. However if Jimmy Hoffa were still alive, the Canadian truckers would have every American trucker backing them and possible doing like wise. The Kennedy Administration didn't like the power Hoffa and his loyal union held. Kind of like the power you're seeing in Canada now.
