Have given opinion already that this is division fagging with small changes, but will add since this is still going. BO keeps going back to the arbitrary change of banner to justify the contest and all related noise around banners. Humbly suggest that the problem was the enforcement of a standard when there was none before. Yes it was shit that the banner was forced to be changed without enough discourse, but enforcing the reversal of that decision is itself another enforcement of a standard. The correct course of action here is not a more democratic enforcement of a standard, it is going back to not having a standard to enforce. This board is meant to be a hard unwelcoming tip of the spear. This talk of branding and representing the board to outsiders is nonsense. Time to re-read the welcome page, and if there are problems with it then start a democratic modification of the welcome page, instead of trying to fairly enforce rules that shouldn't exist at all.
To clarify there is a standard, it is similar picrel with lion replaceable with similar flair. More suggesting that this standard is enforced by anons on a bread by bread, case by case basis, depending on the feeling at the time. Suggesting that anything more stringent that than will cause more problems than it solves.
All picrels should be acceptable enough variants to use and respond to anon feedback in that specific bread for that specific baker for the next specific bread.
