When Jesus died on the cross, the "veil" separating the outer temple from the inner "holy of holies" was torn. Catholic priests are "men of the cloth". They try to uphold the veil.
Them lying about Jesus and doing bad things in His name does not make Jesus fake. He warned that many would come in His name and deceive many.

Remember the story of the tower of babel? They wanted to make a name for themselves, so language was confused. Jesus told you all these things are done in parable so some although ever seeing never perceive.

The people wanted blood, His sacrifice was for them. He said it is finished because not the least stroke of the pen from the law disappears until it is finished. What people don't realize is the signs of the times or who the man of lawlessness is.
