Russia Blasts White House's Fresh Friday Ukraine Panic Porn As "Distraction & Disinformation"

Update(4:05pmET): Despite the as usual contradictory messaging out of this administration, on the one hand serving up another dose of afternoon panic and market turmoil on the news Russia will invade Ukraine in a matter of days (it's been "days" and "imminent" for multiple weeks at this point), nothing seems to have actually changed on the ground at the Russia-Ukraine border… though Blinken has claimed Russian troops have moved closer to the border.

Multiple White House officials are currently telling various major US news outlets that the US now believes Putin has made the decision to attack Ukraine - though in a public news briefing Jake Sullivan still presented a confused picture… on the one hand telling US citizens to exit Ukraine immediately as a military offensive is nigh, but on the other cautioning he's still not sure Putin has made the final decision.

And now once again Moscow is "calling bullshit". Late at night Friday local time, the Kremlin responded to the latest headline panic-fest in the aftermath of the White House afternoon briefing, calling the new 'predictions' yet more US "disinformation".. according to the news wires:

Among other countries calling on citizens to leave are the UK, the Netherlands, Latvia, Japan and South Korea. The British foreign office said all UK nationals "should leave now while commercial means are still available".

In its warning, Latvia cited "a serious threat to security posed by Russia".

Biden is now reportedly seeking to hold an urgent phone call with Putin. "US President Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin will speak on Saturday, according to an official," Bloomberg reports.

The presidents of Russia and the US will hold a phone call on Saturday, Kremlin has confirmed

US President Joe Biden will phone Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday evening Moscow time, the Kremlin said Friday. The call came after a written request of the White House, and the two leaders are supposed to discuss the current tensions over Ukraine.

“The American side asked for a conversation with President Putin, and it will take place tomorrow evening Moscow time,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Biden left the White House on Friday afternoon for the presidential retreat at Camp David, Maryland. He is supposed to stay there over the weekend.

Shortly before his departure, Biden’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan publicly urged all American civilians to leave Ukraine, saying that in case of a Russian invasion that could happen “any day now” they will not be able to do so, or count on another Afghanistan-style US military evacuation.

While Sullivan’s descriptions of an impending Russian attack on Ukraine matched the reports circulating in the US media on Friday, he said that such reports were not true because the White House believes a decision to attack has not yet been made in Moscow.

The US has claimed since late October that Russia is preparing to attack Ukraine, with Moscow describing the allegations as “fake news.”

US describes what ‘Russian invasion’ of Ukraine would look like

White House says Russia could aim for “regime change” in Kiev with air strikes, ground attack

The White House announced on Friday it believes Russia has everything in place to invade Ukraine “any day now,” urging American citizens to leave because there is no chance of a US military evacuation such as the one from Afghanistan.

President Joe Biden’s national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, told reporters that “an invasion could begin at any time” should Russian President Vladimir Putin give the order, and could even “begin during the Olympics.”

Urging all American civilians to leave Ukraine while they can still use commercial travel means, Sullivan warned there is “no prospect of a US military evacuation in the event of a Russian invasion.”

An invasion by Russia “is likely to begin with aerial bombing and missile attacks,” while the subsequent ground attack would disrupt communications as well. “No one would be able to count on air, rail, or road departures once military action got under way,” said Sullivan.

Sullivan’s phrasing matched that of PBS National Security correspondent Nick Schifrin, who shortly before the White House press conference cited anonymous US officials to claim that Russia had in fact decided to attack. When asked about these reports, Sullivan said he had “not yet seen” them but they were wrong, and that the White House does not believe Russia has made a decision either way.

Pressed to provide details, Sullivan said the US intelligence community has assessed that Russian troop build-up near Ukraine suggests a “very distinct possibility that Russia might choose” to take military action “on a reasonably swift timeframe,” adding there is a “credible prospect” that this might happen in the coming days.

The intelligence community has “sufficient confidence” that there is a “distinct possibility” Putin “might” order an invasion before February 20, Sullivan told reporters, and that a “rapid assault on the city of Kiev” is considered a possibility.

He also repeated State Department spokesman Ned Price’s claim that Russia is working to fabricate a pretext for invasion with a “false flag operation” in eastern Ukraine. Just like Price, Sullivan offered no evidence for the claim.

Moscow has repeatedly rejected US allegations it plans to invade Ukraine as “fake news.”

World Economic Forum Blasted for ‘Insane Pro-CRT Propaganda’ Video

The World Economic Forum came under fire online, being accused of promoting “divisive” propaganda after it released an explainer pushing critical race theory along with an accompanying essay describing racism as “persistent and prevalent” everywhere.

Against the backdrop of classrooms and racial protests, the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) video published on Tuesday begins by asking what critical race theory (CRT) is and why it’s “so controversial.”

CRT supporters say “it’s a way to understand and tackle racial inequality,” the video explains, while opponents say it “does the opposite.”

The nearly two-minute clip defines CRT as a theory “first developed by US legal scholars in the 1980s” that “argues that the laws, rules and, regulations that govern society today have been shaped by the historical subordination of people of colour and that this is a driving force behind racial inequality today.”

The short-form clip lists only one example of such supposed inequality: the high number of incarcerated black males throughout the country.

“Take the US criminal justice system, for example,” it says. “While everyone is seen as equal under the law, Black Americans are imprisoned at 5 times the rate of white people.”

“CRT says this disparity is a legacy of America’s racist past,” it claims, adding that opponents complain that it “paints all white people as bigots.”

The video asserts that CRT supporters maintain that “a system doesn’t need racists working within it to produce racially imbalanced outcomes” and that the theory serves as “a lens through which to view racial inequality today.”

“Most importantly, it recognizes that racism is not a relic of the past and that by understanding its underlying causes we can start to build a more just society,” it states.

The clip, which has received over 230,000 views on Twitter as of Thursday evening, concludes by asking viewers, “What do you think about CRT?”

However, the post immediately links to an essay for readers to “learn more about racial equality” in which racism is described as “persistent and prevalent in every community, country and continent,” with “systemic and structural barriers hav[ing] long denied access and opportunity for leaders of colour.”

In response to the clip, many big names called out the Switzerland-based globalist organization, accusing it of pushing Marxism and propaganda.

“Insane pro-CRT propaganda video,” wrote author, writer, and researcher Christopher Rufo, who is also a senior fellow and director of the initiative on CRT at the Manhattan Institute.

California Democrat introduces vaccine mandate bill for all workplaces

California lawmakers are considering a bill that would impose a statewide COVID-19 vaccine mandate at all workplaces, Politico reported Friday.

Democratic Assemblywoman Buffy Wicks introduced the bill, claiming that the only way for the pandemic to end is by mandating vaccination.

“The pathway to endemic, for us to get back to some sense of normalcy, is through vaccines,” she told Politico.

Wicks' bill would impose severe financial penalties on businesses that do not comply and is all but certain to face opposition as Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) begins to lift other pandemic restrictions. The governor is set to ease masking requirements and indoor social distancing restrictions as COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations have fallen since the Omicron variant surge this winter.

Although fewer cases and hospitalizations are encouraging, Wicks said her bill is necessary because the pandemic remains unpredictable.

“It has seemed like things are moving in the right direction many times before with this virus, and yet there we were with another wave,” Wicks said.

The vaccine mandate legislation is the latest proposal to come from the state legislature's Vaccine Work Group, a caucus of lawmakers formed to advance bills intended to mitigate COVID-19 spread and combat vaccine misinformation.

Other bills introduced by members of the vaccine caucus include a bill that would allow any child 12 or older to consent to receive an FDA-approved vaccine without parental say-so and a statewide school vaccine mandate with no exemptions.

According to Politico, Wicks considered introducing the vaccine mandate bill last year but never followed through with her idea. Now that the U.S. Supreme Court has blocked President Joe Biden's federal vaccine mandate on businesses with more than 100 employees from taking effect, she says state lawmakers have an opportunity to act.

Workplaces of all sizes, as well as contractors, would fall under the mandate. Exemptions would only be permitted for religious or medical reasons. New hires would have to show proof of having at least one vaccine dose by their start date and show documentation of a second dose within 45 days, according to Politico.

Wicks' bill would not include a testing option for workers who do not want to get vaccinated, addressing concerns about who would pay for the tests. If the bill passes, California workers at every business would be given an ultimatum: Get jabbed or get fired.

The Democrat also said lawmakers are considering vaccine legislation that would affect customers entering businesses.

Federal judge stops Biden admin's carbon cost executive order

The executive order "established a 'working group' of federal appointees to establish a damage value, or 'social cost,' based upon global environmental damages from climate changes," Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry's office said.

A federal judge granted a preliminary injunction on Friday against President Joe Biden's executive order to force a carbon cost on nearly every aspect of American life.

The executive order "established a 'working group' of federal appointees to establish a damage value, or 'social cost,' based upon global environmental damages from climate changes," according to the attorney general's office.

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, who requested the preliminary injunction with the support of nine other states, said on Friday, "Biden's attempt to control the activities of the American people and the activities of every business from Main Street to Wall Street has been halted today.

"Biden's executive order was an attempt by the government to take over and tax the people based on winners and losers chosen by the government."

Landry added, "Agriculture, energy, and virtually every other manufacturing industry is at stake; and today, a federal judge in Louisiana recognized that the federal government does not have this reach.

"While our fight is far from over, I am pleased the Court granted preliminary relief against the President's unacceptable and unauthorized executive overreach; and I remain committed to seeing this case through to the end – fighting every step of the way for the workers and job creators in Louisiana and throughout our Republic."

Landry previously stated that the executive order would touch "every part of American life: the generators powering our homes, the dishwashers cleaning our tableware, the lawnmowers cutting our grass, the firewood keeping us warm, the livestock and produce feeding our families, and every breath we exhale."

Live updates: Convoy to Canberra anti-vaccination protesters plan rallies at Parliament

Canberrans are being warned that thousands of protesters will take part in rallies against vaccine mandates today.

The protests are expected to centre on Parliament House from about 10am, although there has also been suggestions they could target the AIS mass vaccination clinic - however authorities say they will have extra security on hand.

ACT police have amped up their response to the situation and "allocated all available resources" to manage today's protests.

The protesters are made up of a number of loosely affiliated groups, such as sovereign citizens, anti-vaccine conspiracists and evangelicals, but have been demonstrating together against vaccine mandates.

Police say there will be major traffic disruptions and diversions and Commonwealth Avenue will be closed for a period of time.

The Lifeline bookfair was cancelled overnight after "10,000 to 15,000" protesters descended on EPIC overnight and a security fence surrounding the bookfair was torn down.

The Capital Regional Farmers Market has also been cancelled due to safety concerns.

Three human trafficking operations in Fort Bend County lead to 41 arrests, 7 rescues

The Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office recently partnered with other agencies for three proactive operations to fight human trafficking, leading to 41 arrests and seven rescues.

The arrests included five traffickers or pimps, and the rescues included one child sex trafficking victim, according to District Attorney Brian Middleton.

“So, the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office remains committed to providing protection and safety for people in our community,” Middleton said. “These undercover operations are proactive attempt to reduce and eliminate crime in our community. We don’t stop at human trafficking, but we are focused on human trafficking.”

He said the top priority is protecting the women and children who are more vulnerable.

Operation Trick or Treat in October 2021 focused on discouraging sex buyers or johns. Mark Hanna, chief of the DA office’s special crimes division, said the operation’s objective was to decrease the demand for purchasing sex so that fewer people would be victimized. Twenty-six individuals were arrested for trying to purchase sex over the internet.

In November 2021, Missouri City Police Department led the other agencies in Operation Frontline, which resulted in the arrest of seven individuals who were attempting to purchase sex, Hanna noted.

He said January’s Operation Snowflake led to the arrest of five sex traffickers and the seven rescues.

Charges varied, and there were also some related drug and weapons charges.

Human Trafficking Rescue and 11 other agencies worked with the DA’s office to carry out the three operations. They included Missouri City Police Department, Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, Sugar Land Police Department, Houston Police Department, Department of Public Safety, Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Rosenberg Police Department, Waller County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and Homeland Security Investigations Houston.

Hanna said the number of arrests and rescues shows the impact of such operations, from improving the lives of the victims to holding traffickers accountable in order to make know that purchasing sex and trafficking will not be tolerated in Fort Bend County and those who engage in those activities will be caught. He emphasized that a person looking to purchase sex over the internet could be talking to an undercover agent and will be prosecuted.

“We’re going to continue through these collaborative efforts to investigate these and prosecute people to the utmost extent that we can,” Hanna said.

Texas led the way in September as the first state to make solicitation of prostitution a felony through House Bill 1540. Hanna said he wanted to make people aware that there are serious consequences for soliciting.

A QAnon follower from Michigan has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to killing his newlywed wife, whom he believed was a CIA asset - and President Joe Biden's transgender daughter - who was involved in sex trafficking.

Troy Burke, 45, of Elwell, entered the plea on Tuesday, and it was accepted by Judge Shannon Schelgel.

Burke was arrested in January 2021 on open murder and firearms charges for the shooting death of his wife of just three months, 29-year-old Jessica Burke.

The husband was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation, which determined that Troy Burke was not criminally responsible for his actions at the time of the killing, Gratiot County Prosecutor Keith Kushion said.

After receiving the results of the court-ordered examination, Kushion requested a second, independent evaluation, which also concluded that Burke was unfit to stand trial, reported The Morning Sun. Burke has a history of being hospitalized for mental health issues.
