Consider: a common commercial passenger liner has 100,000+ UNIQUELY IDENTIFIABLE parts serialized to exactly ONE individual airframe (airframe number is NOT the same as a TailNumber (equivalent to a License plate which can be changed easy enough) nor Flight Number (route, which is changed all the time depending on availability)).
Wrote some letters shortly after 9/11 asking why this simple procedure of cross referencing recovered parts was not being checked again maintenance hanger logbooks and manufacturer’s records, and shared with the general public to STOP the conspiracy speculations…. crickets.
