Police arrest 11 in Coutts after midnight raid

 

Eleven people were arrested after being involved in what the RCMP called a criminal organization.

Sunday night, RCMP say they obtained a search warrant for a house in Coutts, Alberta, the border village where truckers and farmers have been blocking border access for two weeks in protest of COVID-19 restrictions.

 

Eleven people were arrested after being involved in what the RCMP called a criminal organization; 13 โ€œlong gunsโ€ along with handguns, body armour, a machete and ammo were seized from the raided home and trailers.

On Monday morning, the RCMP issued a press release stating:

 

An example of the militant mindset of a small segment of the protest, earlier in the evening, at approximately 8:00 p.m., a large farm tractor and a semi truck, both involved in the blockade, attempted to ram a police vehicle. The police officer was able to reposition and avoid the collision. RCMP officers followed the suspects to a location where the protesters were gathered. The driver of the tractor was identified and we are actively working to locate him so he can be taken into custody. The Alberta RCMP have seized the farm tractor and semi truck involved in this incident.

 

Last week, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney stated in a press conference that RCMP reported an assault against an officer. Rebel News reporter Kian Simone received a statement from the RCMP confirming no such assault happened. The assault was, in fact, a common motor vehicle fender bender.

The timing of the raid, the same day Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act, coupled with revelations that the RCMP vandalized three pieces of heavy equipment near the border protest, raises many questions.

 

It is important to note that no names or charges were released by police, nor has any evidence linking those arrested to the border protest.

 

The Emergencies Act, described as a โ€œ temporaryโ€ measure to be used for an โ€œurgent and critical situationโ€ that "seriously endangers the lives, health or safety of Canadiansโ€ also needs a threat to justify it.

I went a week on just under 20 hours of total sleep, but ended up sleeping 12+ hours today. I didn't feel tired at all until 2 days ago, I only got 30 minutes of sleep between my jobs, the first I worked 8 hours and then the 2nd was 8.5 hours. By the end of that, i was talking real funny. Yes. It's not the shelling that's the story, rather how heavily the Russian media is running it this morning.

 

I think it might be a Russian counter narrative rollout. Rumors of Russian (or Russian heritage) genocide by the Ukrainians in the Donbass. I don't think the Russian invasion blitz by Western media took hold and the Russians are now going to try to prove genocide. It will be very bad optics for Brandon if that develops legs.

 

I can't see Europe wanting anything to do with Brando's scheming. Too energy dependent. Brandon must have been strong-arming, IMO. and Putin will try to make him pay. Europe, looking to avoid war, may just take up the Russian banner to cut Brandon off.

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows said Sunday that it's "time for people to go to jail" as part of U.S. Attorney John Durham's probe into FBI misconduct โ€“ prompting ex-Trump aide George Papadopoulos to sound a celebratory note on Twitter.

 

The comments came as Fox News learned this weekend that Jennifer Boone, a senior FBI official who oversaw the flawed probe into former Trump adviser Carter Page, has received a major promotion to lead a field office โ€“ and the bureau won't say why.

 

Meadows, during his Sunday interview with Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures," also previewed the Trump administration's soon-to-be-released plans for reopening schools and implementing new economic stimulus measures. More details, Meadows said, would be coming this week.

 

However, Meadows' comments on the Durham probe were among his most suggestive yet. They followed Attorney General Bill Barr's comments to Fox News earlier this year that Durham's findings have been "very troubling" and that familiar names are currently being probed.

 

"I think the American people are expecting indictments," Meadows told anchor Maria Bartiromo. "I expect indictments based on the evidence I've seen. Lindsey Graham did a good job in getting that out. We know that they not only knew that there wasn't a case, but they continued to investigate and spy."

 

Internal FBI documents that emerged in April showed that Peter Strzok the now-disgraced anti-Trump former head of FBI counterintelligence ordered the investigation of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn to remain open even after it was slated to be closed due to a lack of so-called "derogatory" information. It simply means that the U.S. government, in collusion with the Federal Reserve, has the ability to print its currency at will simply because it is the issuer of the world's reserve currency and can export its inflation to the rest of the nations of the world. Any nation that wishes to engage in international trade, including the purchase of commodities such as natural gas or oil, must maintain huge dollar reserves to enable its purchases.

 

The world, in effect, acts as a sponge to absorb U.S. inflation, allowing the U.S. government to build obscene deficits that enable a massive military budget and enrich a very small portion of the U.S. population at the expense not only of the world's population, but also of the American working class. This unearned abundance of power, in turn, allows, for example, corporations like Amazon, Tesla, and all the other U.S. multinationals that have easy access to this money-creation machine to grow ever larger - and quite independent of their real economic viability. This, of course, comes at the expense of small businesses - both in the United States and in Western Europe, and increasingly in Eastern Europe as well.

 

As for those nations that want to free themselves from the U.S. dollar, we know all too well what the U.S. has in store for them. As a reminder, here are some examples of nations that refused to accept dollar hegemony: Iraq, Libya, Iran, Venezuela, Ukraine, Syria. This is where the Russian Federation comes in. If you really want to understand why the U.S. establishment hates Russia under Vladimir Putin, all you have to do is understand the dollar's role in the world. Russia is a direct threat to the proliferation of the U.S. dollar.

 

For its part, the Russian Federation has become quite resilient and much less vulnerable to any outside pressure or influence over the last 20 years. Indeed, Russia is a sovereign nation that is not intimidated by the United States. While the U.S. government was busy in the first decade of this century hunting down terrorists of its own making, Putin and the Russian people have worked hard to rebuild the Russian Federation. In fact, Russia has become so strong that it can now even project enough power to protect other sovereign nations that want to break away from the U.S. dollar or wanted nothing to do with it in the first place - Syria is the best example.

 

The United States cannot simply launch a military strike against the Russian Federation as it did in Iraq and many other nations that rejected dollar hegemony. Russia now has the power to prevent the proliferation of the U.S. dollar. To return to the sponge analogy: Russia is reducing the size of the sponge. This leaves the U.S. government with a smaller and smaller number of countries to export dollar inflation to. The smaller the sponge becomes, the more desperate U.S. foreign policy becomes, as the U.S. leadership tries by all means to preserve its grip on world power

Raising BLM flags on U.S. Embassy and consulate flagpoles throughout the world calls attention to efforts to advance racial equity and access to justice in the United States and worldwide. The flags serve as a visible reminder of the collective responsibility to advance social justice issues and the U.S. governmentโ€™s resolute commitment to confronting the injustices that exist today.

Upon raising the flag, U.S. Chargรฉ dโ€™Affaires Shante Moore said, โ€œThe United States was founded on the principle that all people are created equal, and it is an ideal we have yet to reach, but continue to strive for to form a more perfect union as articulated in our Constitution. Cargo Ship Full of Porsches and VWs Is On Fire and Adrift in the Atlantic

The Portugese Navy has confirmed this morning that one of its patrol boats came to the aid of the Felicity Ace, a car carrier transiting the Atlantic Ocean, as reported by the Washington Post. The vessel transmitted a distress signal after fire broke out in one of the cargo decks, with the ship announced as "not under command" shortly afterwards. Thankfully, the 22 crew on board have been reported as successfully evacuated from the ship.

 

The Felicity Ace had departed from the port in Emden, Germany on February 10, believed to be carrying vehicles from Porsche and other Volkswagen Auto Group brands, among others. The ship was originally expected to arrive at Davisville, Rhode Island on the morning of February 23.

 

After transmitting the distress signal on Wednesday morning, the Panama-flagged ship was quickly reached by the Portugese Navy patrol boat as well as four merchant ships in the area. According to Naftika Chronika, the crew of the Felicity Ace left the ship on a lifeboat and were picked up by Resilient Warrior, a tanker operated by Greek company Polembros Shipping Limited. Reportedly, 11 of the crew have so far have been picked up from the Resilient Warrior by a Portugese Navy helicopter. Efforts to bring the situation under control are ongoing according to reports from the scene.

 

The Felicity Ace was built in 2005, measuring 656 feet long and 104 feet wide, with a carrying capacity of 17,738 tons. Fully loaded, the ship could carry nearly 4,000 vehicles. No details are currently available as to the cause of the fire, other than that it broke out in the ship's cargo hold. The ship can be seen smoking in the distance in photos taken from the Resilient Warrior, as shared by Naftika Chronika.

 

Porsche and Volkswagen vehicles, among others, were on board the carrier at the time of the incident, headed for North America. Members on 718Forum.com have reported Porsche's Track Your Dream service delivering a message that the company is "aware of an incident on the Felicity Ace", which was "carrying certain Porsche vehicles." The message indicates that dealerships will provide customers with further information where available.

 

Similarly, members of the VWIDTalk and Rennlist Porsche forums have speculated that their vehicles may have been affected by the fire on the Felicity Ace. Based on previous import manifests filed in the USA, the ship has regularly transported cars for Volkswagen, along with its other brands, including Lamborghini, Audi, and Porsche.

 

Matt Farah, the man behind The Smoking Tire YouTube channel, posted today regarding his own Porsche that was apparently onboard the ship. "I ordered a Boxster Spyder in August, and I was very excited to get it at the end of this month, and now it seems like it might become an artificial reef," said Farah, adding that "I'm only saying this because I know no one was hurt, which is obviously more important." The car in question was a custom-specced Boxster Spyder, fitted with an DeMan 4.5L flat-six engine among other upgrades.

 

In a statement provided to The Drive, Porsche stated that "Our immediate thoughts are of the 22 crew of the merchant ship 'Felicity Ace,' all of whom we understand are safe and well as a result of their rescue by the Portuguese Navy following reports of a fire on board." The company advised concerned customers to liaise with their dealers, noting that "We believe a number of our cars are among the cargo on board the ship. No further details of the specific cars affected are available at this time - we are in close contact with the shipping company and will share more information in due course."

 

Some Porsche customers may be particularly concerned if their limited-edition cars have been damaged and destroyed in the incident. The company has in the past made efforts to remanufacture limited-edition cars, such as the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, when a number were lost when a cargo ship sank back in 2019.
