Ukraine Explains Zelensky, a Comedian, Was Mocking Media with Russian Invasion Speech

The office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was forced to clarify on Monday night that his announcement declaring Wednesday a public holiday because of an alleged Russian invasion was intended as “irony” and mockery of anonymous media reports, not a confirmation that Russia will invade on Wednesday.

Zelensky issued a nationally televised speech on Monday declaring Wednesday a Ukrainian “Day of Unity,” urging citizens to decorate their streets in the national colors, blue and yellow, wear patriotic clothing, and get together to sing the national anthem. A presidential decree declaring Wednesday a holiday also included a pay raise for the Ukrainian armed forces and the creation of a new media platform to combat misinformation coming from American and other Western corporate media about any alleged invasion.

“We are told that February 16 will be the day of the attack. We will make it the Day of Unity,” Zelensky said in the address, according to the official English-language translation from the Ukrainian government. “The relevant decree has already been signed. On this day, we will hoist national flags, put on blue and yellow ribbons and show the world our unity.”

“Today is not just Valentine’s Day. It is the day of those in love with Ukraine. We believe in our own strength and continue to build our future together. Because we are united by love for Ukraine, united and unique,” the president said. “And love will win. Yes, now you may think it’s darkness all around. But tomorrow the sun will rise again over our peaceful sky.”

Elsewhere in the remarks, Zelensky derided international media for attempting to sow panic with repeated reports predicting an invasion.

“We are being intimidated by the great war and the date of the military invasion is being set again. This is not the first time,” Zelensky said, accusing an unspecified “they” of attempting to “spread panic among citizens and investors through the media” and “deprive us of the right to determine our own foreign policy course.”

To Ukrainian journalists specifically, Zelensky advised, “work for Ukraine, not for those who fled. The fate of the country today depends on your honest position.”

Some American media outlets reported Zelensky’s speech as an original source for the claim that Russia will invade on Wednesday and did not make any indications in their reporting that Zelensky was in any way dismissive or sarcastic about the date.

Former Biden Campaign Staffer Tried To Blame Attempted Assassination On ‘Right Wing Rhetoric,’ But Suspect Is Left-Wing Activist

President Joe Biden, with help from former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama, has resettled more than 74,400 Afghans across American communities since mid-August 2021.

The latest Department of Homeland Security (DHS) data reveals the extent of Biden’s unlimited Afghan resettlement operation — the largest in American history — since his administration’s withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan.

As of this week, more than 74,400 Afghans have been resettled in small towns and cities across 46 states. Today, just 1,200 Afghans remain temporarily living on U.S. military bases, as all others have been placed in communities.

More than 76,000 Afghans, in total, have been brought to the U.S. even as top DHS officials admit that minimal vetting procedures are conducted. This month, an Afghan man was charged with sexually assaulting a woman.

In January, an Afghan man was convicted for sexually molesting a three-year-old girl. Last year, a 19-year-old Afghan man was arrested in Montana in October 2021 after he allegedly raped an 18-year-old woman in a Missoula hotel. Those charges came after two Afghan men in Wisconsin were charged with domestic abuse and child sex crimes.

DHS has touted the involvement of Welcome.us — a non-governmental organization (NGO) created by Clinton, Bush, and Obama with the financial backing of multinational corporations like Facebook, Microsoft, and Walmart to resettle as many Afghans in American communities as possible.

The Chamber of Commerce is also helping to funnel Afghans into American jobs.

Last month, reports circulated that Biden is looking to bring thousands more Afghans to the U.S. with no end in sight for the resettlement operation. That plan would resettle 2,000 Afghans across American communities every month, putting them on a fast-track vetting and green card process.

Currently, House Democrats are lobbying Biden to fast-track thousands more Afghans into the U.S. at a quicker pace.

Biden’s continuing unlimited flow of Afghans to the U.S. was first authorized by 49 House and Senate Republicans who joined Democrats in September 2021 to fund the resettlement to the sum of $6.4 billion. Then, in December 2021, 20 House and Senate Republicans helped Democrats pass an additional $7 billion in funds to ramp up the endless Afghan migration.

Refugee contractors, the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that rely on American taxpayer money to resettle refugees across the U.S. annually, secured billions as a result of the funding measures.

Every five years, refugee resettlement costs taxpayers nearly $9 billion. Over the course of a lifetime, taxpayers pay about $133,000 per refugee and within five years of resettlement, roughly 16 percent will need taxpayer-funded housing assistance.

Over the last 20 years, nearly a million refugees have been resettled in the nation — more than double that of residents living in Miami, Florida, and it would be the equivalent of annually adding the population of Pensacola, Florida.

Ethics Watchdog Asks IG to Investigate Biden Energy Secretary Granholm

An ethics watchdog organization asked the U.S. Department of Energy Inspector General to investigate President Joe Biden’s Energy Secretary, Jennifer Granholm, for allegedly violating federal conflict of interest law.

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust’s (FACT) request to the Inspector General comes after reports that Granholm failed to properly disclose nine stock trades worth up to a quarter of a million dollars, violating the STOCK Act.

Executive branch officials must disclose trades worth more than $1,000 within 30 days of the transaction.

The complaint said:

In the present case, Secretary Granholm made nine stock trades between April 30 and October 26, 2021.6 However, she did not disclose those to the Office of Government Ethics until December 15 and 16, 2021—either weeks or months past the 30-day disclosure deadline required under federal law.

In addition to Uber and real estate company Redfin, the complaint calls attention to Granholm’s sale of shares in Gilead Sciences Inc., a major government contractor and developer of the remdesivir treatment for the coronavirus.

Congress passed the STOCK Act in 2012 after Breitbart News senior contributor Peter Schweizer released Throw Them All Out, which exposed corruption among political officials.

FACT executive director Kendra Arnold said:

As exemplified here, a government official’s failure to comply with the most basic ethics rules leads to public distrust in our government. Secretary Granholm should not be exempt from the consequences of violating federal law and she owes the public an explanation for failing to comply with the law. We request the Inspector General immediately investigate and implement the proper penalties and consequences for these violations.

Granholm was recently at the center of controversy for her involvement in the electric vehicle company Proterra. Granholm sat on Proterra’s board and held over one million dollars worth of company stock before ultimately selling months after her confirmation as Energy Secretary.

While serving as Biden’s energy secretary, Granholm promoted the company, which critics argued increased Proterra’s stock value due to visibility from a cabinet member.

Aged Care Services Minister says deaths not an indicator of whether he should resign

Richard Colbeck, the Minister for Aged Care Services, has said he doesn't believe the number of deaths in aged care is an indicator of whether he is the best minister for the sector.

Asked earlier today at Senate Estimates whether he felt he was still the best minister for the job despite the number of aged care deaths this year, Mr Colbeck defended his position.

"I don't accept that deaths in the community or deaths in aged care is an indicator. So I reject your assertion in the context of that," he said.

"It is a nice political point for you to try and make. But, Senator, I continue to focus my attention on doing my job, rather than the political point you're trying to make."

Estimates heard earlier 691 aged care residents have died with COVID-19 this year.

Mr Colbeck also defended his decision to not use the word "crisis" in regards to aged care, saying he's "very careful about my language because the sector says to me, 'when are we going to stop talking this sector down?'"

WHEREAS, the United States Health and Human Services Secretary declared a public health emergency for the entire United States to aid the nation’s healthcare community in responding to COVID-19 on January 31, 2020;

WHEREAS, New York is now experiencing COVID-19 transmission at rates the State has not seen since April 2021;

WHEREAS, the rate of new COVID-19 hospital admissions has been increasing over the past month to over 300 new admissions a day;

WHEREAS, the state must pursue a coordinated approach to ensure hospital capacity statewide is able to meet regional needs;

WHEREAS, the State government must support the municipalities and counties in their efforts to facilitate and administer vaccinations and tests for COVID-19, and to prevent the virus from continuing to spread at such rates;

WHEREAS, a new SarCoV2 variant, known as Omicron, has been identified and named a variant of concern by the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention;

WHEREAS, this variant has been identified in all 50 U.S. states, including New York, and more than 104 countries;

As Governor Rod Blagojevich once said of Obama's Senate seat, “It's a f____ valuable thing, you just don't give it away for nothing."

A Supreme Court seat is even more valuable and with the Senate stalemated, the two big factions of the Democrat base are furiously fighting over who gets to ‘Blagojevich’ it.

The superannuated struggle over the seat of Justice Stephen Breyer, who chose to retire at the age of 83, pits Rep. Jim Clyburn, 81, against Senator Bernie Sanders, 80. Both are demanding that Joe Biden, 79, let them ‘Blagojevich’ the “f____ valuable” Supreme Court seat.

(None of them however are planning to follow Breyer’s example and retire at 83 with Bernie Sanders set to run again in 2024 even though he’ll be 83, Clyburn declaring, “Hell, yes”, when asked if he intends to run again this year for a term that will take him to 83, and Joe Biden insisting that he will run for reelection for a second term that would take him to the age of 86.)

Both Clyburn and Sanders have a claim to the contract on Joe Biden’s soul.

Clyburn turned out the black vote for Biden, dragging him through the South, and enabling him to hold off Bernie and Elizabeth Warren. Biden and Bernie then agreed to a unity pledge that united the Democrats behind a candidate to whom the usual response was, “Huh, him, why?”

In politics, nothing is free. Biden mortgaged his presidency to Clyburn, Warren, and Sanders.

But there’s only one Supreme Court seat available. And only one fundament, no matter how diverse, can be planted on the wooden bench. The question is whose fundament will it be?

Clyburn delivered South Carolina, the South and the party’s nomination. He wants to be paid.

The White House is full of Clyburn’s people, but a Supreme Court seat is still a “f____ valuable thing”. Biden promised it to Clyburn who picked his own nominee and is working the room.

While the lefties are pushing their gals through the media, Clyburn took Judge Michelle Childs to meet members of the Senate and recruited Senate Republicans, including Senator Lindsey Graham, to promise to support her. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders got into a snit and refused to meet her which allows Clyburn to imply that they’re a bunch of racists.

Give the third-highest ranking House Dem credit, he knows how to hustle.

Childs is a typical non-ideological product of Congressional Black Caucus patronage. She wouldn’t make a great justice, but neither does she go to bed every night plotting to destroy America. You can expect bad decisions from her, but not particularly creative ones.

Socialists would like someone dedicated to completely dismantling the country and supporting every insane scheme in the book. And they’ve got a shortlist of horrifying candidates.

Demand Justice had sent around trucks blaring, “Breyer, retire. It’s time for a Black woman Supreme Court justice. There’s no time to waste." Once word of Breyer’s resignation leaked , the leftist group took credit for the liberal justice having been "shamed" by the "gushing fire hydrant of bullying tweets". And the Soros-backed group has its own “shortlist” of justices.

The Soros shortlist from hell includes antisemitic DOJ appointee Kristen Clarke, Soros Philly DA Larry Krasner, and Dale Ho, a Biden nominee, who boasted of being a "wild-eyed sort of leftist".

While none of these people are getting nominated, two of them aren’t even black women, the Demand Justice shortlist also includes Ketanji Brown Jackson, and Leondra Kruger who top the leftist shortlist and whom the media has been promoting non-stop for the Supreme Court.

Leondra Kruger, the daughter of a Jewish doctor and a Jamaican immigrant, is another Kamala Harris who slithered her way up California's political ladder.

Kruger had never even been a judge until Governor Jerry Brown put her on the Supreme Court before she turned 40 because she had the right political credentials..

The battle over the Supreme Court seat has unraveled the uneasy alliance between the black political machine and white leftist wings of the Democrats. Most things could be shared, but there’s no way to share a Supreme Court seat and both are determined to claim the prize.

But whom will Biden pick?

Despite promising to match President Trump and release a Supreme Court shortlist during the campaign, Biden never did. Instead he let everyone, including Clyburn, believe he would name their candidate giving him the maximum flexibility to bribe one side at the right time.

The political calculus here is as crass as a Hunter Biden art show. Biden needs the support of black voters and lefties to win a nomination for another term. He’s polling deep underwater. The question is does he double down on his black loyalist base who got him to the nomination or does he make a desperate play for the Left which is likely to run a candidate against him.

Bernie’s people have been insisting that they will primary him in 2024. (Probably not by Bernie though.) The Bernie network has also been warning against a Childs nomination. And if either side can get a few Senate Democrats to commit to voting against Childs or Kruger, the Supreme Court nomination could go the way of Build Back Better. And Republicans wouldn’t mind.

Clyburn’s pitch is that some Senate GOPers like Graham will back his candidate even if Sanders and Warren won’t. The Left’s sales pitch is that they’ll sink Biden and take the rest of his first term (not to mention any implausible second term) down if he defies their will.

Does Biden reward his black allies or appease his leftist enemies? It’s a tough call. And that’s what will determine which particular inept hack ends up on the Supreme Court.

Meta to Pay $90 Million to Settle Facebook Privacy Lawsuit Over Tracking

Meta, Facebook’s parent company, has agreed to a $90 million settlement over a decade-old lawsuit which accused the social media platform of tracking users’ internet activity through browser plug-ins, even after they logged out of their accounts.

A judge must now approve the settlement between Meta and the plaintiffs which was filed on Monday night with the U.S. District Court in San Jose, California.

Under the terms of the proposed settlement, the social media company must also delete all data collected without users’ knowledge. Meta must also pay $90 million to users who filed a claim.

The lawsuit, filed in 2012, stems from a 2010 update by Facebook called “Open Graph,” and alleges that it used plug-ins to store cookies that tracked when users were on other websites which featured Facebook’s “Like” button.

The plug-in allowed Facebook to use cookies to collect information about what sites users visited, and what they purchased or viewed, on sites which had the “Like” button plug-in, according to court documents.

That information was allegedly then compiled into profiles and sold on to advertisers.

Facebook in September 2011 initially defended its practice of collecting data from the plug-ins when users were no longer logged into the platform, saying it helped to prevent improper logins, before later clarifying its policies and changing how its cookies gathered data .

In 2017, a judge granted Facebook’s motion to dismiss the case, and in 2020, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit partially reversed the decision after plaintiffs appealed that ruling. The federal appeals court said plaintiffs could try to prove that Facebook violated users’ privacy through its practices.

The U.S. Supreme Court rejected Facebook’s request to hear the case last year.

“It’s truly a wake-up call for internet and advertising companies who collect user data and use advanced browser tracking,” Stephen Grygiel, a leading attorney for the plaintiffs, said in a statement shortly after Meta agreed to pay $90 million to settle the class action lawsuit.According to the settlement, all plaintiffs who, between April 22, 2010 and Sept. 26, 2011, were Facebook users in the United States that visited non-Facebook websites that displayed the “Like” button, may request up to $5,000 each.

Here's why taking money from Afghanistan to pay the families of 9/11 victims while the country is in dire need of assistance is cruel and unjust.

The Biden administration announced Friday that it is freezing $7 billion that the Afghan central bank has in U.S. banks, surprising many who had been calling on the U.S. to release the funds to aid organizations that are addressing the humanitarian crisis ravaging the country. But the Biden administration set aside half those assets, $3.5 billion, to be used as possible compensation to the families of those killed in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks with pending legal judgments against the Taliban. Taking money from Afghanistan to pay the families of 9/11 victims while the country is in dire need of assistance is cruel and unjust. Let me explain why.

Let’s start with the fact that the money the U.S. is holding does not belong to the Taliban.

Let’s start with the fact that the money the U.S. is holding does not belong to the Taliban. It is money the Afghan government (and its Central Bank) earned and collected after the government's formation in 2001. In other words, this is money that belonged to the internationally recognized and legitimate Afghan government that was established by the United States and other international partners after the U.S. invasion. That government came into existence after the terrorist attacks, so it clearly had nothing to do with those attacks. Moreover, those funds include revenues from exports and aid assistance provided by donor countries. It’s not money that was earned or ever held by the Taliban. In short, this money belonged to the Afghan people not the Taliban.

It’s also important to remember that of the 19 hijackers involved in the September 11 attacks, none was Afghan. There 15 were Saudis, two Emiratis, one Egyptian and one Lebanese. The mastermind of the operation is Pakistani, and the leader of al Qaeda, the organization to which all the men belonged, was Osama bin Laden, a one-time Saudi national. The families of the 9-11 attacks have not received compensation from the countries of any of the actual hijackers.

Tennessee woman indicted on 18 child rape charges; Sheriff says she had sex with 9 HS students and there are more victims

MCMINN COUNTY, Tenn. — A 38-year old woman is facing a slew of charges for allegedly having sex with at least 9 boys from a Tennessee High School.

According to Sheriff Joe Guy: The McMinn Co Sheriff’s Office received a referral from the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services on December 9, 2021, that indicated Melissa A Blair, 38, of Englewood, had been having sexual encounters with male juveniles who were students at McMinn Central High School. An investigation was immediately begun, and as interviews progressed, additional information came to light, as well as additional victims.

On December 15, detectives with the Sheriff’s Office went to Ms. Blair’s residence and spoke with the suspect, which was quickly followed by the execution of a search warrant at the suspect’s residence. A letter from Director of McMinn County Schools Lee Parkinson was also served on Ms. Blair which banned her from school property or any school activities.

“The search warrant revealed additional evidence, and our investigation grew larger as more parents and victims contacted us,” said Sheriff Guy. “We were finally able to present the case to the Grand Jury on February 15, upon which the indictments were issued.”

The indictments from the Grand Jury were a total of 23 counts, including:

18 counts of Aggravated Statutory Rape

4 counts of Human Trafficking by Patronizing Prostitution

1 count of Solicitation of a Minor.

“The current charges are related to 9 confirmed male juvenile victims, related to incidents which occurred from Spring of 2020 through late 2021,” said Sheriff Guy. “7 of the victims are still juveniles. 2 were victimized as juveniles but are now adults. We suspect there may be additional juvenile victims and we encourage them or their parents to contact us. There may possibly be other victims who are now adults, and we also encourage them to contact us. It appears that Ms. Blair was communicating with the juveniles on social media, arranging meetings with them, and trading items for sexual encounters with them.”

“This type of case is difficult and shocking even to seasoned detectives, and I want to commend our staff for the many hours of identifying , locating, and interviewing victims and their families, collecting physical and electronic evidence, as well as the many days of putting together the search warrant and subsequent case file. But most importantly we want to offer support and resources to the victims and their parents as we move forward.”

“I also want to express my appreciation for the cooperation of Director of Schools Lee Parkinson and District Attorney General Steve Crump and his office for their assistance in this case. We all share a common desire for the safety and welfare of our schools and students.”

Sheriff Guy added that Melissa Blair turned herself into the McMinn County Jail on Tuesday evening and was booked on the Grand Jury indictments. Her attorney indicates she will be making the $100,000 bail. The case will be set for upcoming McMinn County Criminal Court.
