The internet is a treasure trove when it comes to churning out rescue stories of animals. While some of them result in heart-melting reunions, others can simply bring you at the edge of your seat. This video of a dog being rescued from an active volcano crack in Hawaii will make you go through both the emotions mentioned above.

Kawika Singson, a Hawaiian adventurer and photographer, known for his daring photographs taken dangerously near active volcanoes and lava streams, shared the rescue video on YouTube. According to a report by DailyMail, Kawika received a call about the dog’s situation and learnt that it was stuck in a 25-foot-deep fissure along Kilauea volcano, on the island of Hilo for two days.

Kawika drove to the spot and went down the fissure with safety ropes. After some attempts, he was able to fish out the dog to safety amid rising temperatures and toxic fumes. For those who are unaware, Kilauea is one of the world’s most active volcanoes.
