Dogs are capable of finding the most unexpected items while playing fetch - and sometimes their finds can leave their owners cringing.

People from around the world have been sharing hilarious photos of their dogs presenting them with a sex toy after curiosity led them to make discoveries during their daily walk.

Rebecca Scott, who lives in Norwich, shared a photo of her dog with a dildo in its mouth on Twitter, last week, which saw hundreds of users reply with similar snaps.

'My dog Nelly has a best dog friend called Larry. Larry has an owner called Tom who is my friend. The young dogs swim together in an idyllic spot of the river Wensum every morning. They bring back sticks to us in exchange for treats. It was all very idyllic until this happened,' she wrote.

Rebecca's post racked up more than 15,000 retweets as pet owners admitted they were able to relate, having had their own dogs find sex toys in parks, beaches and even left by previous owner of their house.
